Chapter 26: Chapter 26 New Ability
The one text he sent was expensive costing tens of thousands of worship so Jack decided to test his ability and how to use it the most effectively.
First testing on the same kobold the reaction of different words.
"Strengthen" Jack said staring at a lv1 kobold wondering what would happen.
Suddenly Jack felt a slight drain on his reserves before looking at the kobold. Noticing the difference immediately Jack inspected the new lv2 kobold.
Checking his status and noticing the tens of thousands of missing faith. Jack contemplated over the usefulness of this. Having stronger units quicker can come in handy for various situations so this is a a pretty good use.
Jack guessed that depending on the level and rank of the character the cost would increase. So a lv3 dragonoid would cost less than a lv3 kobold to upgrade.
Looking at the same kobold jack said a single word " Evolve!". Jack watched ignoring the sizable loss of worship as the kobold started the process of evolution. Seeing that the evolution didn't finish immediately Jack guessed that the least expensive route is chosen since the evolution could have been completed instantly though it could also be the lack of power in the words themselves.
Maybe one word has a limitation on power. Seeing that words with purpose and intent behind them cost more than words with convey the intent to pass on information Jack slowly began to understand his newfound power.
Jack moved the newly evolving kobold into a burrow as he watched over it until it finished evolving. While Jack wandered off the new dragonoid passed his knowledge of his blessing over to the rest of the tribe. Generating more faith for Jack and belief that his words hold more weight than mortal words.
Wanting to test a new idea with this ability Jack walked over to another kobold who was crafting.
Looking at this lv0 kobold Jack wondered the best way to bless this kobold. Eventually decided on a few words.
"Warlock Evolution!" Jack stated his words with massive hope as he really wanted a spellcaster. Warlocks are way stronger and more useful than regular dragonoids. Also capable of awakening others though sacrifices.
Jack watched as his reserves were drained until almost empty as the evolution started. With wisps of magic and supernatural phenomena unlike the regular evolution Jack watched in anticipation.
Jack watched over this evolution using the worship he gained each day to secure the evolution. Though he wasn't able to guarantee the result he helped it and everything turned out alright.
Jack looked over the new dragonoid warlock in front of him immediately noticing the difference.
A dragonoid with stronger looking scales that shone with a hint of magic radiance, a stature surpassing even the dragonoid warriors, and tattoos across the body of the dragon he descends from.
Jack wondered though how to communicate the changes to the church he wanted to make. Deciding that the best way was to let things play out for now so the new warlock can get acclimated.
After a few days passed and the warlock though confusing to the original female dragonoid was accepted and put to work.
Jack sent down a message containing a few words on a rock as a fake divine prophecy.
With a loud crash as the stone collided with the dirt in the middle of the tribe quickly gathering the attention of every believer. The believers started to gather around the stone as the female dragonoid leader tried to decipher the meaning on the stone.
On the stone was a carving depicting the warlock leading the tribe to prosperity over enemies.
The female kind of understanding the message explained it to the growing crowd who excitingly talked about this divine revelation. The warlock surprised by this quickly smiled at this promotion.
In the following days the warlock was quickly crowned as a saint and made in charge of the church. With this came another change the linking of church and state. The church would now be in charge of the tribe completely from now on.
The ranking would stay the same but instead of being called the leader instead they would be called the champion of the silent one. Believers tended to refer to Jack more as the silent one now than his other title.
Jack once sending down the stone instantly realized his mistake as he felt the need for energy and not wanting to sacrifice his new ability fainted.
As his body fell onto the ground besides a tree in the forest though invisible he was still present.
After who knows how long Jack awoke to the smell of burning as he noticed sacrifices in front of him. Confused Jack look around noticing that this section of trees was decorated with all sorts of ornaments and materials clearly in some sort of pattern.
At this moment the warlock walked over solemnly with a tray in front of him holding food which was on fire. As he walked over and put the food on the ground he realized that in front of him was someone.
Clearly shocked someone was here he stumbled backwards as he observed this stranger.
As a divine being his aura forms a sort of figure around him that depends on his affinities. With his original ability he looking lively and charismatic. Now with his new ability he was hooded with only glowing eyes revealed behind his black cloak. Though the growth abilities aura could still be felt.
Realizing who it was the warlock quickly knelt and started praising the lord in front of him.
Eventually he stopped as his lord wasn't talking. With this thought he immediately insulted himself before studying the lord trying to figure out what he may want.
Deciding explaining himself would be for the best due to what he has been doing.
Jack listening to this warlock understood what this ceremony was for and how long it has been. Its been 13 years with this warlock discovering him about 11 years ago and since then had been holding ceremonies to give offerings everyday since.
Checking his status and noticing the zero worship value he started to understand what happened. Panicking due to missing class and worrying his friends and family.
