Chapter 5: Aiden Von Klassen
Most of the students widened their eyes, and only a few weren't surprised. Noah knew this thanks to his father's teachings, same thing goes for Arthur and some of the rest.
''Knight's Blessing and other things work because of Mana. Every Class relies somehow on Mana, some Class more heavily than the other, for example, the Mage class.''
''Well, what I'm trying to say here is simple, do not neglect this stat. Even if your stats will increase randomly by 1 or 2 points every level up, you should sometimes use the Skill Points earned to increase the Mana's stat because this can come in handy later on.''
Elena's students nodded, taking their teacher's advice by heart.
''Good, let's move on to the next subject, it's something important I must remind you before we continue.'' Elena immediately began her next lecture.
Everyone focused their eyes on her as they believed that whatever Elena wanted to say, was important because the air suddenly became heavy.
Elena heaved a sigh.
''You all know the history but I'll still say it, to remind you. Before the advent of Mana's storm, Mana's Apocalypse, Gaïa used to have six continents but after the Mana's Storm, we lost 3 and billions died. This was not only due to the monster's wave but because of The Demons.''
Everyone shivered at the mention of this name, fear was visible in their eyes. It was understandable, monsters are scary but demonized humans are even scary.
''There will always be darkness whenever there's light but we lost a lot because of the apparition of Demons. Although now they have calmed down we must still stay alert and never bite more than we can chew. Never give in to temptation, stay true to yourself.''
They nodded their heads frantically, nobody wanted to become demonized because this would mean they would become the world's enemy, hiding in the wastelands, always on the run, it was not the life they wanted. They would proudly stand in the light and enjoy its glory.
They silently committed to their hearts to avoid those fanatics, never give in and join the dark side.
Although the Demons keep increasing, they are still rats hiding and performing terrorist attacks, kidnapping geniuses, or assassinating them. The location of their headquarters remains unknown to this day but the general consensus is that they're hiding in the Wastelands.
Wastelands refers to the destroyed continents, now occupied by powerful monsters and dangerous dungeons.
Previously there existed 6 continents:
Amazonia, Europa, All-Stars★, Blue Island, Far East, and Antarctica.
Blue Island, Amazonia, and Antarctica were destroyed, and the survivors went to the remaining continents.
Angel's city hailed as the biggest city in the world is located in the middle of the All-Stars' continent and houses the strongest guild. It could be said Angel's city is the center of the world. Most of the graduates will work in Angel's city, working for the strongest guild or one of its subsidiaries. You can choose to work for another guild but the appeal of working for the strongest and first guild is too great, so much that most of the students end up working for them.
''I would like to continue but I'll stop here for today and let you socialize among yourself. We will see each other tomorrow before you depart.'' Elena announced the end of today's class.
''Also when you go back to your dorm better read the school's guidebook to know the ins and outs of the academy, it is important to read it, don't toss it to the side.'' Elena immediately departed from the class after giving them this reminder.
The classroom turned silent for a moment before it became animated again, the excited students joined each other to share pleasantries, almost everyone knew each other.
Noah didn't want to socialize, so he tried to sneak out but someone was not letting him have it easy.
A white-haired beauty stood before him making Noah frown.
''Follow me.'' Those were the words she said upon opening her rosy lips.
''I refuse.'' Noah's reply was instantaneous. He didn't even look at Lilith in the eyes, too afraid of losing his cool.
The classroom immediately turned silent again and all eyes were on the duo, Arthur in the back folded his arms, ready to watch a good show.
Meanwhile, in the opposite direction sat a handsome youth, black hair darker than the night accompanied by a beautiful pair of ruby eyes. The owner of those eyes was looking at the duo with a frown marring his face, he was not pleased with this situation but he decided to observe first.
''I say it once more, follow me, Noah,'' Lilith said expressionlessly and Noah responded the same.
''I refuse.''
Finally, Lilith showed emotion, she frowned not understanding why Noah was refusing her, after all, they had known each other since they were children and used to play together all the time.
Meanwhile, commotion started.
''What did they know each other?"
''Seems so.''
''I thought the White Witch was the silent type and wouldn't approach anyone, she is so scary I didn't want to approach her.''
The students discussed among themselves while looking at the duo.
Noah tried to bypass Lilith but the latter wouldn't budge.
Irritated Noah responded.
''Lilith I'm busy, I have something to do, so please let me pass.''
Lilith stopped for a moment before opening her mouth.
''It's all you have to say to your childhood friend you haven't seen in a while?"
Lilith's head was tilted to the side, still not understanding Noah's reaction, he should have been happy to see her and approached her first, after not seeing each other for almost 4 years it was the most normal reaction, but Noah was behaving unnaturally, almost as if afraid, almost as if he found bothersome to interact with her, it was understandable knowing their past.
''Childhood friends she said, no wonder.'' Ilya one of the survivors from the now destroyed Amazonia's continent was interested in the duo's past, she watched the drama unfolding.
Ignoring the ongoing attention they were receiving, Noah could not take it anymore and was forced to slightly raise his force due to the anger.
''Right back at you, after not seeing each other for almost 4 years you just stood before me without greeting me and ordered me to follow you, I'm your lackey or something ? I'm busy.''
Noah immediately passed Lilith whose eyes widened after realizing what she had done wrong.
She wanted to say something but was unable to open her mouth, not knowing what to say.
It was then another person who blocked Noah's escape route, it was the black-haired youth with ruby eyes, giving off the air of a prince.
''What do you want Aiden?" Noah glared at the black-haired youth before him. Almost punching that handsome face. It irritated him every time he saw it.
Aiden Von Klassen, the young master from the famous and ever-powerful Von Klassen's family.
