"Ni–Nicolai…please," Jeremy groaned as he tried to plead for his life. "Pl...please let me...let me go. I did—I did it for my l... cough... love." 

"Shut up!" Nicolai snarled as he slammed the heel of his foot on Jeremy's head and smashed it down. "Such words do not suit you. A man as despicable as you is talking about love? Do you even have a heart to do so?" 

He put his entire weight on his foot that was placed on top of Jeremy's head and sneered, "Monsters like you don't deserve mercy." 

"I am sorry—I am sorry," Jeremy pleaded with his face squashed on one side; his eyes were filled with terror as he pleaded, "I am sorry—I… I know I was wrong; I shouldn't have done that."
