Chapter 48: Forgotten Sanctuary II
Her guess was right it didn't take long until these corpses started dashing towards her one by one,only to be instantly crushed by her palm, but as she let her guard down corpses started to fall from the ceiling, one of the corpses managed to grab her neck and with a sharp rock started to stab it into her eyes, as she managed to throw the corpse to the ground that stomped it's skull with her legs cracking than breaking it, she realized that the voice that she heard from before must be Controlling these corpses with special means as without intelligence they couldn't be able to pull a stunt like that.
She used everything she had to destroy the corpses as effectively as possible, in a one in one fight they couldn't hurt her but considering that there were hundreds of them, and they surrounded her she eventually got scars from time to time even visible cuts started to appear on her body, soon minutes became hours and hours became days as she endlessly slaughtered through the cavern there was already thousands that she destroyed but they were still coming, there was even times that she was buried under the army of corpses, her strength slowly but steadily started climbing higher and higher from [Str: 10.00] it became [Str: 10.29] without her noticing, but even if she noticed she would have no time to feel happy as the only thing she could think of when is this will be overt? How many of these corpses are still remaining? As she gradually became more clear about her surroundings she already had a map in her mind about 90% of the caverns yet she still couldn't find the exit, there was 3 holes, that constantly pumped out these corpses but she couldn't get close to them no matter how hard she tried there was formations around them that the living couldn't enter.
Meanwhile in the depths of the sanctum there was an old man sitting cross legged with a worried expression on his face, he was running out of time to take care of Cyra, it wasn't that he couldn't maintain the symbols anymore but the fact that she destroyed almost all of the remaining corpses, the ghostly old man visibly became fainter as he used his strength to reinforce the symbols on the guards foreheads!
With hopes of delaying Cyra he also opened a passage right before her that led to the library, the down side is that the ordinary corpses can't enter this place but the finished Guards can they might even be able to kill her, it was worth the risk.
Cyra right at that moment heard a sound of doors cracking and a secret wall disappeared right behind her, as she turned around she could see that there was countless bookshelves inside the room, she walked inside without the corpses following her, as she was looking around there were countless different books inside, she randomly picked one and opened it, to her surprise she could read it without any obstacles, it was a breathing technique used by normal people to upgrade their psychical condition.
As she ventured deeper into the library she came across countless techniques that were useful for the system so she scanned through more than hundreds of books content, in some of the books she also found remarks of the past happenings.

[BD 700: Corruption has routed inside the high ranks of the priests they doesn't care about the people lives any longer they became incredibly ruthless and only persuading power, they say that this is Axis wish but I don't believe, I stuck into the inner sanctum once to see them, luckily I could escape alive, they lost their humanity most of their bodies became black and demonic wings appeared on their backs, their sanity was long gone]
[BD 120: War broke out between the Emin Light and Dark factions, the casualties are in measurable, the Light faction issued an order to seal away these demonic beings at all cost
[BD 0 happened probably around 1000~1200 years ago the following text was written by blood on the back of a map: We are all doomed, the war has ended but we can't leave, we can not allow these things to leave, there are millions of demon spawns under this sanctuary we sealed them using our blood but we cannot leave because the doors are already sealed behind us as desperate measures, I pray that these things never escape…]
Right after finishing reading the content of the books Cyra was alarming by a pulling force that tossed her out of the library and she couldn't fight it no matter how hard she tried, at the moment she was at loss to what to do, first the library appears than she gets thrown out of it for no reason at all.
As she turned around she saw 3 Knight Corpses standing behind her they were in shiny golden armors, their strength was stronger than the corpses from before but they were still a slightly bit weaker than Cyra, at [Int: -] [Str: 10] [E:0.01] but unlike before the symbols on their foreheads weren't glowing at all, the elder currently was way to weak so he couldn't directly control them, so he teleported the, at the entrance of the library and let them lose, well all 3 of them were staring at the empty passage while Cyra effortlessly walked pass them, she went directly towards the places where she haven't been before since for some reason all of the normal corpses were motionless, they lost even that tiny bit of Essence that originally was left inside them.
It didn't take long for her to find the entrance to the sanctuary, the door had 9 formation on it with reinforced Seals that made this entrance impenetrable by force she also had little no hope to crack it since there was 9 formations fused together.
System how do I open this?
[By finding a possible Key]
There is a key? Isn't this made to forever keep them inside?
[Yes and No, as the books explained the church was corrupt to begin with so there is very likely a secret way to open the door for unexpected situations, I suggest host to go back to the library and search for information about this door and look for any possible keys]
With that said Cyra once again walked pass by the Knights without them noticing anything, than entered the library once again as she was reading through books after books she found the reason why she was pushed out, some of this books can relies a faint presence than can cause people to faint than die, to avoid unforeseen accidents anyone that stops moving for more than 10 minutes will be immediately pushed out by a simple formation that is active even after thousands of years.
Than as she proceeded towards the second floor she felt a faint pressure coming from the 3rd floor, but she still decided to look around here first so she could further rise her intelligence from [Int: 88.28] to [Int: 100.28]
She gradually learn more about the religion and their beliefs but these more pretty much meaningless information for her, she also found a map of the Shadow Realm currently she was at the very corner of the Sea of Souls middle regions, to get to the outer Region it would take at least 3 weeks of traveling, she also found that at the end of the Sea of Souls stands a giant wall to be more precise there was a giant height difference between the sea floor and the land, the only way to actually set foot on the land is by climbing up.
As she gradually became much more aware of her surroundings she managed to find more useful stuff such as inscription paper a lot of them and hundreds of pens, she took all of them including all the books, she might have uses for it if the temperature ever drops below zero.
Then she went to the 3rd floor there was an ancient Pergament with an empty page placed in the middle of the floor, as she got closer at 5 meter she could feel a slightly stronger pressure than from the 2nd floor, at 4 meters sweats started appear on her head and she gradually found it harder to walk closer, at 3 meters she was visibly shaking and could barely withstand the pressure, than she was sent flying from the 3rd floor her head hit the balcony on the second floor knocking her out and sending her back at the entrance of the library, about 2 hours later she woke up than stood up by climbing on the Knights next to her, the next few attempts went rather similarly until she got annoyed by getting her head hit in the balcony so the next time she awakened, Cyra directly punched a few holes in the balcony completely removing it.
Her progress became much smoother after she didn't have to wait 2 hours after each try, her strength also greatly increased from [Str: 10.29] to [Str: 10.53] she was completely focused at the scroll soon she managed to crawl to the 2 meter mark where nothing happened, even the pressure is disappeared within seconds, she easily walked to the ancient Pergament and picked it up without any problems.
System what happened?
[Soul Attacks, this is rather hilarious there is a giant golden fish flying around host and trying to attack your soul, but with no success it already given up completely and currently angrily munching on Host armor]
Cyra instantly re-activated her vision Rune and looked at the golden fish soul with great interest, there was actually inscriptions on the soul but this wasn't the weirdest part this thing was actually cursing at her nonstop.
Gold fish, - "Damn im The keys guardian Spirit there is a no way I can't even hurt a little insect like you! Hey I'm talking to you don't you dare touching it! Um… I mean don't you dare take it… You dare?! Damn you and your whole family bring it back here right now!"
Cyra completely ignore the little fish and headed for the sealed door with the key, as she was thinking how to open the door the elder managed to regain some of his strength but what he saw completely dumbfounded him, the key was already taken Cyra was nowhere to be seen and the 3 guardians were standing in the same spot where he left them, they didn't even move an inch worth of distance.
He once again took command over the corpses to find Cyra, she was right before the sealed door, he didn't commanded the corpses simply observed her while the 3 Knights started walking towards her localization.
Right before they could reach her Cyra activated the key and was directly sucked inside the gate, than it was sealed once more, she realized that she didn't think this through because the moment she appeared inside the key turned into dust and everything behind her was tightly shut once more.
