Chapter 4: The Mysterious Ling Yao'er
Li Xuanyang groaned lying on the bed inside his chamber. He roared loudly with endless longing, "I want to recover fast! How could I do it?"
Suddenly, the air around him chilled, and the temperature within the room fell by a few degrees. A few ice crystals started floating within the room, making it look like winter had come.
A beautiful woman with blue hair appeared in front of him. Her silvery blue eyes looked at him with a cold expression, and her blue robe fluttered in the air even though there was no wind.
Li Xuanyang was startled. He kept staring at her, and the beautiful woman blushed upon being stared at. She thought, "So, he is the son of master. He looks exactly like her, however, he is crippled and has a weak aura unable to compete against her ethereal aura. No! Why am I wasting my time on this? I must complete the task within an hour or else, the entire Spirit Sky Realm might crumble and collapse due to the chaos of spiritual qi!"
She said lightly in her sweet yet otherworldly voice, "Li Xuanyang'er, I am Ling Yao'er. You can call me Sister Yao'er. I am told to help you recover your dantian, okay? I'll help you right away as I don't have much time!"
Looking at her in a daze, Li Xuanyang asked, "Sister Yao'er, you must be a superior, right? Who told you to help me? And why would you help? Am I worth it?"
Ling Yao'er frowned hearing it. "Your worth is more than the entire Spirit Sky Realm, little brother," she said lightly, looking at his handsome face. "Why do you feel inferior? You are handsome, intelligent, how would you not be worth it? Your talent is also quite high. Aren't you worth a lot?"
Li Xuanyang was taken aback. He took a deep breath and calmed his emotions as he was at the brink of crying in front of her. "So I am worth your help? How would you heal me, Sister Yao'er?"
Smiling, Ling Yao'er raised her right hand and opened it. A bluish pill was floating on it. Spiritual qi within a boundary of a thousand miles started to converge towards it. She flicked her finger, and the pill went down Li Xuanyang's mouth into his stomach.
Li Xuanyang's body suddenly relaxed as if he had reached heaven. His dantian started to heal at a rapid speed, naked to human eyes, which greatly surprised him. It was almost impossible to heal a dantian at such an incredible speed. He had heard of a legend that even a sacred grade pill might take a few days. However, this healed at such a speed. Li Xuanyang felt it was the legendary King Grade pill.
However, before his imaginations could run wild, he felt tired, and his eyes closed.
Ling Yao'er looked at him with a smile. A set of silver needles appeared in her delicate hands, which were whiter than milk. She pointed the needles into his body, which slowly helped him open up his meridians, which were unclogged and also some that were yet to open. Opening meridians could help a lot as it speeded up cultivation.
Ling Yao'er took only a few minutes before she finished unclogging his meridians and opened up all his twelve meridians. She wore a beautiful smile. "Little brother, I hope you would return to master soon. She was waiting for you to reach the top. She had placed all her hopes on you. However, if you failed, even the Spirit Sky Realm might perish."
She stood elegantly on air and disappeared from the chamber.
Li Xuanyang woke up after an unknown period of time. The first person he saw was Qingyun Commandery Prince, looking at him with worry. When he saw him showing signs of waking up, his expressions eased up. He said, "Yang'er, what happened to you? Why did you suddenly faint in your chamber? You have been passed out for more than a week!"
Li Xuanyang looked around within his room, but he didn't find Ling Yao'er, not even a trace of her. He even doubted if she had come to help him or not. He quickly checked his dantian and found it was healed!
He laughed out loudly. "Grandfather, I have healed! My dantian has healed! Your grandson could cultivate again. You don't have to worry about your dreams perishing!"
Li Xuanyang laughed madly, sensing his dantian again. He really missed this feeling, and finding it again within his body obviously made him very happy.
However, hearing this, Qingyun Commandery Prince's expression didn't ease up, but became more severe. He nearly yelled, "How did it heal? How is it possible?"
Qingyun Commandery Prince nearly lost his composure, but he was also worried about Li Xuanyang as it was impossible to recover one's dantian within a few days!
Looking at Qingyun Commandery Prince losing his composure, Li Xuanyang smiled. He was always like this. "Grandfather, I really don't know how I recovered, however, I felt a very overbearing aura before I fainted. I don't know who that person was who was kind enough to help me, but if I came to know about him, I would accept him as my master!" said Li Xuanyang solemnly.
He didn't want to reveal about Ling Yao'er as it might make the situation more dire because his grandfather and mother would make his life difficult and ask him more about her. He thought, "It would better if I don't tell them about Sister Ling Yao'er or else they would spend days asking about her. How would I tell them about her while I myself don't know much about her? I don't dare risk it. It would better if I act as if I don't know anything. It is much safer!"
Qingyun Commandery Prince saw his expressions and knew that he was hiding something, however, he didn't ask him again. He trusted Li Xuanyang more than anyone within Qingyun Commandery. He believed in him that he would have a good reason to hide it.
He asked in a calm tone, "Yang'er, what do you want to do now? Continue to cultivate spiritual power or practice martial arts?"
Li Xuanyang thought for a while. "If I continue practicing spiritual power, I might take more than ten years or even twenty years before I would reach the fourteenth level of spiritual power. I would be vulnerable till then and would have to cling to many people for my survival. No! I would never let that happen! I would never depend on anyone else other than me!"
He looked deeply at Qingyun Commandery and said, "I would return back to practicing martial arts, however, I would change my cultivation exercise!"
Frowning, Qingyun Commandery Prince asked, "Change your cultivation exercise? Which exercise would you take? We don't have a stronger exercise than the Star-Flame Breathing Exercise!"
Li Xuanyang had been practicing the Star-Flame Breathing Exercise, founded by an ancestor of the Qingyun Royal Family, in the Savage Dragon Palace. There was a legend that the Flame Dragon who resided there before dying practiced the exercise! Even Huojian Commandery coveted this exercise, and it was also among the few reasons why they wanted to conquer Qingyun Commandery so much!
Hearing Qingyun Commandery Prince, Li Xuanyang smiled. "Grandfather, I won't be practicing any fire element exercise but rather an ice element exercise!"
This caused a chaos in Qingyun Commandery Prince's mind. He really didn't understand why his grandson wanted to practice an ice element exercise. He said in a severe tone, "Yang'er, you know we don't have any ice element exercise. Our royal family practices flame or fire element exercise! You should continue back to it!"
Li Xuanyang smiled. "Grandfather, I won't be practicing any exercise from the royal family. Actually, I already have a cultivation exercise which I found in the outer circle of Savage Dragon Palace when Azure Blade Academy sent the top alliances to clear up the beasts within the boundary of Azure Blade Academy. I managed to dug up a body of a soldier who must have died during the battle against the Flame Dragon. He had an incomplete exercise called 'Frost Jade Heart Sutra'. Even though it is incomplete, it is still an exercise of the mid-class of Spirit Stage. It could be considered better than the Star-Flame Breathing Exercise in many aspects! I believe that if I venture the inner parts of Savage Dragon Palace, then I might find the complete exercise!" Li Xuanyang explained, looking at his anxious grandfather.
