Chapter 19: Ancient Temple Part Two
Yuki nodded her head and stepped out into the room with slimes. But stopped short and turned to look back at Michi. "Michi, I just had a great idea..." Yuki put on a sly smile as she unequipped her hammer and walked over to Michi and whispered into her ear.
Michi and Yuki both turned and looked at the annoying little bird with evil grins. The annoying little bird had sweat dripping down his bird face. "What!? What are you damn humanoids planning!?"
"Nothing~!!" Yuki said in an innocent tone as she took the stick from Michi and hopped into the room.
Michi let out a laugh as she followed Yuki into the room. She was going to make sure Yuki did not get hurt no matter what! Yuki gave the stick with the annoying little bird attached to it a few swings causing the annoying little bird to yell out: "Damn Human what do you think you are doing! Wait what the hell is that. What are you doing! Stoppppp!!!!!!!!!!!"
*Splat!*

"Ouch, damn it! That was disgusting! My beautiful feathers. You damn human! Look what you did! It's sinking in between my feathers! What is this!" Yuki was now officially using the annoying little bird as a bird hammer. With a twirl as if she was a ballerina, Yuki swung her bird hammer down yet again, ignoring the screams for mercy coming from the annoying little bird.
*Splat!*

*Gurgle!*
"Ahh! It went in my mouth! What is that stench!? Human stop!"
*Splat!*

Michi watched as Yuki danced and laughed as she killed slime after slime. Her eyes were warm as she watched the scene. It was as if she was remembering a fond memory from her past. Thirty minutes went by and with the repeated use of her bird hammer, Yuki had successfully killed every slime in the room.
Yuki hopped back over to Michi with a big smile on her face, handing the stick with the annoying little bird tied to it back to Michi. "It might be dead… It stopped screaming about halfway through. Oh… its stomach is still going up and down… But the white foam coming from its mouth and the swollen head might be a sign of it dying, what should we do?"
"It is covered in slime, so Michi no longer wants to eat it. Let's just use it as a distraction in the next room. The next room seems to be stronger monsters..." Michi said, feeling somewhat nervous. "Yuki, only got one level in this room..."
"A level and a half." Yuki answered.

Yuki thought for a moment and an idea came to mind. She focused on her system and a menu appeared in front of her.

Yuki immediately focused on the accept button and almost at the same time Michi let out a yell. "What is this!?"
"My system…." Yuki answered wondering why Michi was so freaked out. Michi had never questioned her about all the things she was doing before.
"Oh? Yuki, It says here that if Michi teams Yuki, Michi's level will be reduced to Yuki's level in order to keep experience good for Yuki." Michi decided not to ask more. She had already realized that Yuki was able to do weird things like store items away and magically craft items, she had just thought they were new skills Yuki had acquired. But Michi never mentioned anything until now since a window popped up in front of her all of a sudden. This world had levels and skills but they could only be seen with an appraisal skill that everyone was normally taught at a young age. Even for Michi, she had also been taught this skill when she was a young wolf cub.
Yuki noticed Michi avoiding the topic and didn't dare say anymore. She did not know if Michi had a system or not and really did not want Michi to think she was some kind of freak. The last thing she wanted was to have Michi leave her because of something weird like this. Yuki nervously looked at Michi waiting to see how she would react. Michi smiled brightly at Yuki and tapped the air in front of her. Yuki saw Michi's name just below hers showing her hp and mp along with her level that read...

Yuki began to tear up as she looked at Michi's name on her HUD, she bit her lower lip and asked: "You don't think I'm weird?"
"Why would Michi think Yuki is weird? Yuki is Yuki. Michi, like Yuki just the way Yuki is. Now Michi and Yuki are connected!" Michi said happily as she tossed the stick with the annoying little bird on it to the floor and hugged Yuki tight and began licking her face.
Her actions made Yuki feel relieved as she hugged Michi back. Yuki stuck out her tongue and Michi quickly got the hint. Michi twirled her tongue around Yuki's tongue and sucked it into her mouth. The girls stood in the dungeon room intertwining their tongues. They did not break out of their passionate kiss until an evil sound was heard from behind them.
*Splugie!* *Splugie!* *Splugie!*
"Ugh… Let's go before they all spawn." Yuki complained, she reluctantly parted from Michi. She was so sick of slimes. Michi grabbed Yuki's hand and the two ran into the next room, completely forgetting about the annoying little bird who was still unconscious on the floor tied tightly to a stick.
The next room was already fully lit up and in front of them were seven large ant monsters.
Rock Ant [Lvl]: 5*

[MP]:0/0
"Why does this thing have almost the same [HP] as me!?" Yuki complained, she was almost four levels higher but it had almost the same health as her.
"Yuki, the star next to its level, means it is an elite dungeon monster. They are much stronger than a regular monster." Michi explained. Yuki understood this but she still sulked. She equipped her hammer and got ready for battle.
"Michi how do you want to do this?" Yuki asked.
"All of Michi's skills are reduced in power due to this system thing. But Michi should be able to tank them no problem. Yuki, concentrate on killing them." Michi replied.
"Okay, ready whenever you are." Yuki said, giving Michi a nod.
Michi smiled and rushed forward and yelled out: "Area Taunt! Earthen Armor!" She could easily kill these monsters on her own, but with Yuki, as she is now, she needed more training.
The seven rock ants immediately attacked Michi. Yuki did not wait even a second before following up by jumping up into the air and slamming down her hammer as hard as she could. "Ground Slam!"
Michi crossed her arms across her chest and waited for the incoming wave from Yuki's attack but to her surprise, nothing came. Even though the ants were all affected by Yuki's attack she was not. Normally while fighting with a team you could not use area of effect attacks or you would end up hurting your teammates unless you announced it ahead of time. But this was different, Michi realized being teamed with Yuki actually made it so Yuki's attacks would not harm her. She had initially wanted to yell out when she saw Yuki about to use her Grand Slam skill, but now she was glad she didn't. This new finding was quite amazing.
"Minor Heal!" Yuki suddenly yelled out causing Michi to glow with a green light. Michi watched the 10 [HP] she had lost regenerate quickly causing Michi to laugh. "Yuki wait longer before healing Michi!" Michi's smile could not be hidden as she thought: 'She is still the same as always, quick to heal me even when I have only lost a few points of [HP]'
Yuki blushed but did not say anything. She went back to hammering away at the ants. After ten minutes of fighting the seven ants were dead. Yuki and Michi sat on the ground to rest. She took out some water and took a sip before passing it to Michi. "Do you think we can do this?"
"These ants gave Yuki three levels. Which boosted Michi's level as well. If we are careful and rest after each battle we should be fine. If needed we can just farm levels off easier to kill monsters. By the way, Yuki, store these ants, they are very useful for armor and as food. The meat is actually tasty." Michi replied.
Yuki, looked at the smashed ants and wrinkled her nose but still did as Michi said. "Let's keep going, we need to find a safe place to get some sleep, or we will end up dead from lack of sleep." Yuki decided she will look at her stats later but she did take a quick glance at her HUD and smiled.

At least now she had more health to work with. She stood up and stretched and then picked up her hammer, resting it on her shoulder. Michi also got up and stretched a bit. "Ready?"
"As long as Yuki is ready, Michi is ready!" Michi replied, grabbing hold of Yuki's hand. Yuki smiled and interlocked her fingers with Michi's as they walked into the long hallway ahead of them.
In the room where the slimes were, a stick with an annoying little bird tied tightly to it laid on the floor. There were many brown slimes bobbing up and down encircling it. The annoying little bird eyes twitched and slowly began to open as it regained consciousness. "Huh? Where am I? What happened… Oh yeah…. That damn human! Huh?" The annoying little bird realized something was wrong and looked around him to see a bunch of brown slimes surrounding him. "Wait! No! I do not taste good! Damn Humanoids! I will haunt you after my death!"
On this day the sound of an annoying little bird's cries of pain could be heard as slimes slowly dissolved this annoying little body. The proud bird that once sat in a tall tree who decided to shit on two young girls had finally met his end in the slowest and most torturous way possible. As for the two girls who dropped the annoying little bird on the floor and forgot all about him, they continued to walk down a hallway full of wooden doors.
