Chapter 27: Procedures and Taking Test
Today we need to go to the academy to take a test to get in and tour the campus of Secarlla Academy.
So Vanessa my legal guardian filled out my application and submitted it to the school, so now the only thing I need to do is take the test and wait for the results.
So I prepare everything and go with Vanessa to Secarlla in the Valtera carriage.
Since the academy is in neutral territory it took a bit of time to get there, but we finally arrived at Secarlla.
It took us a few hours to get to the academy but Vanessa showed me where the test area is it took less time to get to the testing area than I thought it would.
While walking entering the academy the first thing I saw was a castle-like structure, with prestigious-looking walls and doors.
When I made my way into the academy and the hallways look extremely clean and beautiful, it has a nice blue-and-white color scheme.
I enter the testing area and even the desks are clean and state of the art material.
The testing proctor starts assigning seats and while calling out names one of them really stuck out to me he called Katrina Astley's name and I start to smirk but don't approach her because as much as I trust her I am here not as Serules Meralna, but as Seer Valtera.
So I wouldn't know her with my family connections.
I take a seat where I am assigned and I start to take the paper test that was given out.
The test is comprised of how magic and seqguins contracts work and the pros and cons of each. Every race's abilities, pros and cons, traditions, and laws.
So I generally breeze through the test but there is one question that really stumps me, of course, it is a history question.
It is about the main heroes of the war against the demons but this isn't public information like everything else was on the test, of course I know a lot of this info but I didn't think it would be on the test.
Well It seems I will get at least 95% the best test score was of course 100% but in the past couple of years was 97%. So I should be accepted for my paper test but next is a practical test.
The practical test is next and the instructors told us we will have a fight against the instructors and then a group fight against another group of testers.
So a couple of people fight the instructor before me and he seems to be pretty strong and worthy of being an instructor of "Secarlla".
Katrina got called and I see her fight the instructor, all the kids were able to pick a weapon of their choosing, of course, the blades are dulled but they are still the actual weapon. She picks her signature weapon a scythe and proceeds to spar with the instructor.
She dashes in with her scythe and slashes at his hand, the next moment the instructor parries it and counters with a quick jab of his sword, she uses the handle of the scythe to block the jab, she then dashes back to make proper spacing, after that she sends some scythe blades made out of wind at the instructor. He parries them and then dashes in front of Katrina.
Katrina has a small layer of wind blocking her body so the sword doesn't connect with her, she then uses that sudden moment where the sword made contact with the "wind layer" and uses wind to propel herself behind him and point the scythe at the instructor.
He gave up because he wouldn't have had time to dodge or react to the attack from behind.
She really has improved it seems.
After a couple more kids get called, I finally get called over. I am facing a different instructor than Katrina faced.
It was a woman, she was a Werewolf, and she had lustrous silver hair/skin, bright golden eyes, and d-cups boobs.
She said her name was Nylah Werevena, I grab a pick a sword from the rack and get into position (but not a stance), She rushes at me in a second and I react with a sidestep and counter with a slash, she easily deflects it with her nails, she then goes for a roundhouse kick. I dodge the roundhouse by ducking under it and go for a quick jab. It makes contact with her skin and it just gets stuck there it didn't even go through a tiny bit.
So I step back and decide to get a bit more serious and make an improvised stance and go for a quick draw counter.
She disappears for a second and I immediately turn around and unsheathe my sword as fast as I can while turning to hit her with a horizontal slash, but she blocks it with her hand and she hits me with a quick jab to the stomach.
I brace myself for impact and just barely use the side of the sword to brace myself for the impact.
It connects with the sword and the shockwaves push me back a little, but as soon as I get pushed back she jumps right at me, she extends her claws, and uses both of her hands to swipe at me from different angles.
I dodge a lot of the swipes and parry the rest, there is a small gap in between this barrage of swipes so keep on dodging and parrying to get the timing just right. After two more seconds, I use my sword to jab her right in the chest, in between her swipes, she jumps back and the battle is practically at a stalemate.
We both can tell we are not using our full strength and don't want to, so with one more move I plan on winning this spar, I get into an unsheathing stance, and by instinct go into the stance for Protea's Stigma and then as soon as I notice I immediately switch into a different stance.
I dash in as fast as possible and unsheathe my sword going for her neck, and she goes for a kick to the side, I push through by using my arm to block her kick and continue swinging my sword, she applies more force on her leg and it is getting hard for me to keep myself from being kicked away at high speed, but in with that small time my arm bought my sword connected with her neck and she conceded because she didn't expect me to stop myself from being flung away from her kick.
Now we just have to wait for our evaluation to be put out to the public which will take around another week.
So for now we can just tour the campus.
