Chapter 3: The Neighbor
While on the outing there were many instances of people talking about my mother, Clothes or shops dedicated to her, and many other things.
I could tell many people treated her with respect, I also got to visit my father's business and see what kind of things you do in a merchant group. They have people who manage the trade offers, managers that make sure products get restocked in their stores, inventors who create different products under their name, and marketing management make it so the product looks appealing, prices were not over or underpriced, and keep track of the supply and demand for the product.
We head back home on walking and when we were about to enter our house I saw a girl I think to be my age outside swinging a wooden scythe around. I look at my father and ask her if he would be able to ask her parents if she would be allowed to play with me.
(Requil POV)
I go over to the neighbors and knock on their door. The next thing that greets me is that girl's mother.
She introduces herself as Selenia Astley, with the title of duke (even though I already knew that), and after that, she says I can come in if they need to talk.
I walk in and sit down on the couch.
Selenia- So what do you need?
Requil- Is it okay if my son plays or spars with your daughter?
Selenia- Yeah of course you can.
Requil- thank you, do you want me to give you anything in return?
Selenia- I just hope to have a partner for her to do things with so she put more effort and time into all the stuff we want her to do.
Requil- Ok, when will you allow him to go to your house or she go to ours?
Selenia- Anytime is fine we don't have to have set times of the day or certain days, of course when she knocks on the door, if you would not like to have her come over that day you can just say not today.
Requil- It will also work for me if you do that for my son. So I can say we met an agreement, thank you for your time I will be going back now.
I walk back to my house and open the door after that I sit down on a couch in the living room where I look outside and see my son and wife sparring, I decide to wait for them to stop sparring to tell them the news. I also learned her daughter's name before talking to Selenia, and I thought it would be a good time for them to meet properly.

After the spar with my mother, my dad said he needed to talk to us, so we went inside the living room. The living room has a love seat, reclining chair, sofa, and some extra expensive accessories.
My dad said Selenia's daughter is called Katrina. I asked my dad what title they have and he said they have the title of duke. I recall dad saying Rank/Titles go from King/Queen, Duke, marquess, earl, viscount, and baron.
After that my mother said she was a little annoyed dad didn't ask her opinion about this but she also agreed many good things would happen if I can play, spar, or just interact with someone my age and be able to hang out and have fun with a peer of mine.
After that talk, I go over and talk to her house and knock on the door. I Get a reply to come in, so I go in.
I am greeted by Selenia, then she introduces her daughter, Katrina- 6 years old, I take a look at her and she is 3 feet and 10 in( 1.1684 meters) which is one inch shorter than me. Has snow-white skin, onyx black eyes, and orchid purple hair.
She curtsies and introduces herself, after that, I genuflect back and introduce myself. She asked a question about our rank and I told her we are a marquess but have the authority/ standing of a duke. I walk into their house and the interior was as lavish as ours.
Priceless paintings hung around the mansion and had many unique and expensive aesthetics.
I walk to their living room and sit down with them, they said after a couple of hours I will be able to meet Katrina's father, one of the three dukes in the country.
I ask Selenia what kind of activities Katrina and I are going to do. "You can play games outside, spar, play some card or board games, or just hang out, but you must spar with her at least for an hour when you come over," Selenia said. I asked her if I would be able to study with her also and she said yes.
So after that, we decided to get to know each other better so we asked some simple questions.
After that, we decided to play war (the card game), she plays a queen of hearts and I play a king of spades, I won that round. In the next round, she had an Ace of clovers and I played a 10 of diamonds.
We then started to spar I decided to use a bow instead of the sword for the first couple of spars.
The arrows have rubber tips, She then rushes toward me with a training scythe. I jump back to gain distance and release one arrow she dodges and kicks the ground to close distance. I shoot another arrow while she is dashing toward me, she then raises her scythe and blocks it with her handle.
She then pushes with that advantage and I quickly shoot one near her feet, she sides steps and places the training scythe at my neck.
After that, we just spend the time playing and I go back to my house.
The next day is intense bow training because I felt I lacked more with the bow now then the sword but mother said I am six and have plenty of time to grow.
