Chapter 3: Fetching Death

"W-what a prize!" Evan melted at the reward equivalent to a Rank A quest.

"Yes, this is a special mission given to our party. But, right now, our party needs an adventurer who has the solid physical strength to complete this quest. Are you interested in joining our party? If you are interested in my offer, then I will offer a contract for you." The lean man felt that Evan was tempted by his offer and began to continue his plan.

"What contract?" Evan's eyes couldn't turn away from the reward written on the quest paper. He immediately became a submissive man just by looking at the amount of the prize.

"My party will help you to rank up to Rank E, then you just need to reply by helping us complete this quest, and of course, you will get your reward without any deductions." The lean man offered something Evan couldn't refuse.

The 2 men behind him applauded and warmly complimented Evan.

The next day, Evan and the Sinner Brotherhood Party headed for an old building at the southern end of the human continent.

The 3 brothers stared at each other before deciding to call Evan back to the fertile land to change the previously laid plans.

"Evan, I just felt that we weren't the only investigators in this old building. So my siblings and I will be waiting for you outside. Remember, your job is only to investigate and collect data about the old building."

"So you mean I'll go alone?"

"You prepared it for me? Thank you, big brother." Evan hadn't even used the equipment as long as he was an adventurer, and now he felt like he was a true adventurer.

When Evan was busy checking and preparing with the equipment in his bag. The lean man looked at him in disgust. Many thoughts crossed his mind at that time.

'Tch, how dare this monster to call me big brother. Even though I just wanted him to be a guinea pig to make sure the barren land would absorb his magic energy to dry, but since he managed to survive, it looks like I can use this monster again to get more information about the labyrinth.'

When Evan finished preparing, he looked at the lean man and said with a big smile.

"I'm ready, big brother."

At that moment, the lean man quickly put on a fake smile. He didn't expect that Evan would survive after entering the mysterious labyrinth.

"Now, go, my brother! I'll make sure not a dime of your reward is lost." The lean man spoke as if he was going to do a more challenging job than Evan.

After a while, Evan arrived at a large door with strange carvings in gold. He who didn't know how to open the door other than being pushed, then he tried to open it in a way he knew it.

"H-how heavy! I can't relax here while my brother is struggling to keep other parties from coming here, be open!" The door that initially felt impossible to open slowly began to move and showed how gloomy the contents of the grim building were.

"This gloomy tower certainly has an equally gruesome content." that was what Evan thought about the building before seeing the actual contents of the building.

There was an altar glowing purple with carvings and writing that was impossible for a peasant like Evan to read in an expansive hall. The hall was surrounded by black smoke that gave off a slight electric spark similar to the one at the top of the tower.

Even though Evan was not the owner of the tower, he was angry with the tower builder. He, who had the expectation of a building with 1000 stories, shattered immediately after looking up at the hall ceiling.

A tower was shaped like a volcano with a wide hole at the top about 2000 meters high.

After thinking for a while, Evan began to understand the shape of this strange tower construction. It could be that a monster appears from the top of the tower and shoots a laser blindly at the bottom of the building.

It was inevitable that Evan would die if that happened.
