Chapter 17: New House
Renata tossed in the bed when she felt the strange warmth engulfing her body. She felt the touch of someone on her back but it was comforting and warm that she did not feel any threat.
When she rubbed her eyes to open them, she felt the person was stroking her further as if asking her to sleep more. So, she gave in. It feels nice to have someone by your side even when you are sleeping. It is a comforting feeling so she let her worries go and slept again.
But this time when she opened her eyes, she blinked. Either a wizard had come and changed the whole look of the room or it is not her room where she had lived for two decades.
She looked around slowly but the place looked completely unfamiliar.
It was a grand room with screaming luxuries. The room had a large sofa and a magnificent table that was full of gems on its corner. Just by selling it, she can buy a house in the town.
But how would she take it away from here? Or, she could pluck all the gems from it. But that was only the start.
The bed she was sleeping at was softer than the clouds and the silk felt so nice to touch. The canopy bed has sheer curtains that were embroidered with gold thread.
There was a study desk, a small kitchenette, and three doors. The carpet was soft too, she realized when she landed on it. She did not feel pain walking barefoot like she used to feel in her palace.
The windows were large, giving a whole lot of sunshine and everything was sparkling in that light. The mirror was on the huge top of her vanity table. She opened the cupboards to see they were filled with jewelries and other gems.
"Hmm, taking this was more feasible than the table." or she could take both of them later.
Even walls have a good amount of gems in between the flowers that were patented on it.
Staring at the luxury of the room for so long, she was sure that it did not belong to Penny too, who might have taken her away after realizing how scumbag her father was.
She laughed at that crazy idea, if Penny would know how much her father had hated her, she would not run away with her but run away from her like she was a plague.
"This is the second time I have woken up in a strange place and both times I have no one to guide me. Very well, then i will go explore to know where i am.'' She gave a look to the room and opened the first door.
It led her to a wash area that was large enough to cover her room where she used to live. No, twice of that.
It has more than three bathtubs, making her wonder if many people bath together these days or if the owner of the room is a scumbag who brings all his concubines to bath with him too.
She frowned and did not pay much attention to the rest of the area as she walked out of it and shut the door.
She opened the second door to see a large sofa in the middle while all four walls were filled with a large amount of clothes and each had a matching pair of heels and shoes, accessories and jewelry with it.
The amount was enormous but it did not belong to a man as she had expected looking at the size of the room but a girl around her age.
The thought made her bewildered as she left the area and walked out of the room too. It was so meticulously designed that even when she noticed that it could be hers, she could not believe it. Since no one cared for her to give her a meal, let alone so many luxuries!
She touched the knob of the last door but before she could open it, someone beat her to it.
Renata looked at with vigilant eyes ready to attack the one who had entered in suddenly only to see Penny was standing there with another maid who had a tray of food in her hands.
Penny looked at her surprised but soon her expressions softened and she couched on the ground and held Renata in her arms.
"Oh my lady, are you awake already? Did you feel surprised? I apologize for leaving you alone only to wake up in a strange place. But when I saw you tossing, I thought you would wake up soon. So, I went to order food for you.
You were hungry when you slept right. Do you want to have some meal first or take a bath first?" Surprisingly, Penny, who was silent before she went to sleep, was talking a lot and her face.
It looked no less than a cooked shrimp and with the amount of sweat on her forehead and neck. It looked like either she had cut the whole forest woods alone or she was too nervous.
The maid who had come with her was smiling while staring at Renata. But when Renanta turned, she bowed her head with the speed of lightning and entered in like a professional making Renata raise a brow.
"It is alright. I am not surprised. But where are we and why did you bring me here? Do you not know that princesses can not leave the royal palace in case her life is in danger?" she asked as she looked around. Rather than surprised, she wanted to be prepared for the owner and convince him that her father loves her most and cares about her too much so that he would be assured that he had not invested at the wrong place.
"That, princess.. We are in the royal palace only. Well, central palace to be exact. His majesty has ordered that you will live with him from now on and this is your own new room."
