Chapter 3: Another Demon King?
As Lisa's words filled the room, I couldn't help but feel increasingly uneasy.
The fact that there was another Demon King, the one of Fire, was something I hadn't expected.
My eyebrows furrowed as I turned to Lisa, my voice reflecting my surprise and concern.
"Another Demon King?" I asked, a mix of shock and worry in my tone. "I thought I was the only one in this world. How can there be another?"
Lisa nodded seriously. "Yes, my lord. The world of Demon Kings is vast, and each one rules over their own place. There are a total of 72 Demon Kings, each with their unique powers and goals. You are the 72nd Demon King, the weakest of them all."
I was taken aback by this news. I had believed I was the only one in this world, but now I understood that I was part of a complex hierarchy of Demon Kings, each striving for power and influence.
The system added more information, "Indeed, my lord. The world of Demon Kings is intricate and competitive. Every Demon King governs their own realm and aims to expand their territory. You must navigate this world carefully, as there are allies to be made and rivals to face."
As I processed this new knowledge, I felt a renewed determination to rise above my status as the weakest Demon King and create my path in this complex web of power and desire.
Lisa's voice brought me back to the present. "My lord, I understand that this is a lot to absorb, but we must be cautious. The Demon King of Fire is a strong adversary and won't hesitate to expand his territory."
I nodded, already forming plans and strategies in my mind.
The world of the Demon Kings was much more complicated and challenging than I had thought, but I was determined to overcome any obstacles in my way, no matter how powerful my rivals might be.
With newfound perseverance, I turned to Lisa and said, "Thank you for sharing this with me, Lisa. We'll face this challenge together, and I'll prove that even as the 72nd Demon King, I can achieve greatness."
Lisa smiled, her eyes filled with confidence in me. "I believe in you, my lord. Together, we'll navigate this world of desire, temptation, and power."
As we stood in the grand hall of the palace, the weight of our mission and the challenges ahead pressed upon us.
But I was prepared to embrace my destiny as the Demon King of Lust and embark on a journey that would test the limits of my new powers and the depths of my desires.
Lisa's words had shaken me, but now I felt determined.
I couldn't back down from this challenge, not when the world of Demon Kings awaited me, ready to be conquered.
With a deep breath, I turned to Lisa.
"Lead the way, Lisa. I need to gather my thoughts and plan our next steps," I said my voice firm.
Lisa nodded and motioned to the ornate doors that led to the private chambers of the palace. "Of course, my lord. Your room is ready."
As we walked through the luxurious corridors, the seriousness of the situation was palpable.
I couldn't help but share my thoughts with Lisa.
"I had no idea that there were so many Demon Kings in this world," I confessed. "And to think I'm the weakest among them. How did I end up in this position?"
Lisa walked beside me, her expression understanding. "It's not uncommon for Demon Kings to start as the weakest. Power in our world is earned, my lord. It's a reflection of your desires and ambitions. Many Demon Kings before you have risen from humble beginnings to become powerful rulers."
Her words offered some comfort, but I knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy. "And this Demon King of Fire, what do we know about him?"
Lisa's gaze turned serious. "The Demon King of Fire, Astaroth, is known for his ruthless tactics and unquenchable thirst for power. He has already expanded his territory significantly. Rumour has it that he can manipulate flames and control infernal creatures. We must be cautious when dealing with him."
I nodded, taking in this information. "We'll need allies, Lisa. I can't face him alone. Are there other Demon Kings who might be willing to support us?"
Lisa's eyes sparkled with intelligence. "Yes, my lord. Some Demon Kings value alliances. We should reach out to them, but we must be careful in our negotiations. Trust is rare among our kind."
As we reached the door to my room, I couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and dedication.
The world of Demon Kings was a dangerous place, but I was ready to embrace my destiny and prove my worth.
"Thank you, Lisa," I said as she opened the door. "I appreciate your guidance in this chaotic world."
I entered my private chamber, leaving behind the grandeur of the palace.
It was time to gather my thoughts and prepare for the challenges ahead.
With a deep breath, I turned to Lisa, who had accompanied me to my room.
"Lisa, I appreciate your guidance, but I need some time alone to think and plan our strategy," I told her, my voice filled with determination.
Lisa nodded understandingly. "Of course, my lord. Take all the time you need. A servant will be just outside the door if you require anything."
I gave her a grateful smile before she turned to leave, closing the door behind her.
I was alone in the dimly lit room, the weight of my newly discovered knowledge settling in.
The existence of other Demon Kings and the formidable Demon King of Fire, Astaroth, had thrown me into a complex and treacherous world.
