Chapter 77: Chapter 77 - Running into Esdea again

As Marc was gone, the cheerful atmosphere he was spreading disappeared and was replaced with a serious mood, especially Rofta was very focused. He was very close to making a breakthrough in his magic. One that he would desperately need if he wants to even have a chance against his father, Nakoto. Ihwach has pointed out a lot of weaknesses Rofta had to solve, but he never taught how to do as it would benefit more to solve problems on your own.

Esdea was walking through the village in the direction of the market with three of her strongest and most loyal subordinates. The greatest thing after tormenting her enemies is hunting strong Magic Beasts, and the day yesterday she has gotten word of a Magic Beasts killing a whole battalion of the soldiers she was in charge of. She didn't care about the deaths as weak people will die under others' mercy without having the strength to go against fate. But this hunt was different from the others as she didn't have the usual excitement she would have and she didn't know why— the world just seemed pretty boring for her right now.

She walked confidently like a born leader with big strides that empathized her long legs and naked thighs. Her long blue hair was fluttering in the wind, making her look like a beautiful blue fairy that tempted every passerby no matter gender— but they were cowards and didn't have the balls to act. Thinking about balls, she had plenty of experience as a nutcracker, but there was one pair that she didn't manage to crush. A cute handsome blonde boy appeared on her mind. A smile appeared as she couldn't stop her lips from stretching up— her colorless world changed with her thoughts about nut cracking.

Following behind her were her three subordinates. Two women and one silver-haired man that was glaring at every person that looked dazed at Esdea. With an arrogant expression that shows how he disdained all the men. His name was Balto and he had a secret crush on Esdea. Being 200 cm high and having a muscular body that didn't lack strength made him very arrogant— especially having the ability to use the magic he had added much arrogance. In his mind, no one was worthy of Esdea— not even himself. That's why he was hiding his feelings while keeping every other man away secretly. To the right walked an equally tall lady with a brown cowboy hat and pink long hair. She was only wearing a pink bikini with light dots on and shorts that were barely covered by a white coat. To Balto's left walked another fairly tall lady with light-green hair and well endowed. It was shown with a white military uniform modified into a pair of shorts and a jacket that could just only hold her chest from bursting out. Wearing low white boots and long white gloves. Walking with this many beautiful women added greatly to Balto's pride as he was in fact the only man in this generation that could compare to them.

"I'm the only one worthy enough to get this privilege. No one is better than me." Thought Balto conceited while for a second looking infuriated at Esdea's fluttering hair. His thoughts were suddenly interrupted when he was forced to stop when Esdea abruptly stood still and looked at someone approaching.

Marc was still skipping down the road while he was counting the things he had to buy with his fingers repeatedly. Unfocused he didn't watch out for the people and almost ended up jumping into someone but managed to dodge at the last moment— still, he ended up stepping on the person's foot.

"Sorry-sorry." Excused Marc promptly with a nonchalant attitude before looking at the person he stepped on. "Oh, it's just you Esdea?" Marc said like it was okay as they were acquaintances.

Esdea looked at her white boots and where Marc had stepped was a little imprint from his sandal. She was wondering "Why am I not getting angry? If it was someone else then I would have the person beg for mercy. Instead of getting angry, I'm kind of happy seeing him. Weird."

"…It's fine." Replied Esdea much to her subordinates' shock as this wasn't the usual response. Inside Esdea wanted to be angry, but she couldn't get herself to be. For some reason unknown to her, it was getting harder for her to get angry at Marc like the day she first met. Having fought her evenly made a big impression. For her, the concept of love didn't exist and was only a made-up lie she didn't believe in. People just procreate and get offsprings to leave a legacy to satisfy themselves and nothing else. As love didn't exist and she knew she had to give birth to a child, she saw her pick of a husband as a mere selection that suited her the most, and Marc suited her preferences almost perfectly. Esdea from the moment she was born has only been taught that strength is all that matters from her father. Her mother, Shirayuki, didn't teach her many things as they seldom talked with each other, but she did say that if she could have wished for one thing years back— it was more strength— before she began cursing Nakoto.

It was only when Esdea got old enough, she could imagine what happened to her mother. With the intention of not being under anyone's mercy like Shirayuki and having the choice of who will be her husband, she sought strength and enslaved an Ice Spirit before forcing it to teach Ice Spirit Slayer Magic.

Without minding that Marc had just stepped on her, she was about to ask him something, but Balto did mind and did the one thing Esdea hates the most— acting on your own.

"How can it be a fine general? Let me deal with this shit. There's no need for you to do the trouble." Before Balto could take one step forward, a piercing cold killing intent daunted him when Esdea glared at him. Getting the message Balto stepped back in line, but he still kept looking at Marc like it was all his fault for getting reprimanded.

Feeling the hostility, Marc just said to mess with this arrogant-looking dog "Sorry dude. I'm not into men, so don't stare at me so much" before winking to the other two female subordinates and continuing "but I welcome from two beautiful ladies as you~"

"My-my, thank you for the compliment~" thanked the pink-haired woman in a bikini while adjusting her cowboy hat.

The light-green haired wearing a skimpy uniform was more proactive than her comrade "You really are polite. And you are my type too— okay how about sleeping with me?" She said while bending over and showing even more skin.

Balto's eyebrows twitched after hearing those words— and he wasn't the only one. Esdea's eyebrows are also twitching uncontrollably. If there was one trait she didn't like about Marc, then it was his womanizing tendency she has seen a tiny bit off and is now seeing on full display. Worse— he's doing it right now in front of her without shame. She looked at Balto to permit him to finally attack.

*Swoosh*

In his white long coat and steel gauntlets and boots from amour, Balto appeared beside Marc with a little dark-blue and curved sword intending to cut him right through the top of his head and down.

*PA…!!!*

"Hey!! Esdea I saw that. Can you call your dog back? I have to go shopping for dinner." Marc said casually while holding the short sword in his hand without having to strain himself.

*BAAM*

But the snowy ground couldn't take the pressure being released around them and it was stomped hard.

Having already expected this outcome, Esdea wasn't too shocked as she already knew Marc's strength, but her subordinates were shocked to the core by the display.

"I have to sleep with him tonight…" mumbled the slutty green-haired woman, but she regretted it.

"No, you won't!!" Ordered Esdea before telling Marc "Deal with him yourself."

Having just been insulted and called a dog, Balto didn't go on a fury immediately. While having his sword held, he said "I normally don't bear any hatred against someone obviously weaker than myself, I only pity them for being weak. But you, I can already feel my hate build up."

"Isn't it just because you are weaker than me?" Said Marc with an annoying deadpan look.

Instead of answering, Balto added more pressure to his sword before it ignited with black fire from the handle and up. Expecting a high-pitched cry of pain, he waited for his opponent— but then the fire was suddenly dispersed much to his surprise like they were just blown out.

Playing ignorant and leaving the thought of the familiar black flame magic being familiar, Marc asked "Can it be you have trouble using your magic?"

"DON'T BELITTLE ME!!" Roared Balto before trying to use his magic on the sword again, but the same thing happened— the flames were blown out.

"I don't pity the weak, I pity those without a chance to get strong. I don't pity weak people with magic… like you." Marc threw those words right in Balto's face, and hearing them finally made him lose his equally handsome composure. His face twisted with rage and he released a hand from gripping his sword to raise it over his head— before it ignited with black flames around his fist. "IGNORANT. I have mastered Fire God Slayer Magic that can slay gods. Have a taste of it-"

Marc didn't care and he already had the fun messing with this proud fool, so he just released the sword and used [Bear Sprint] to repel himself behind Balto's head so fast that it looked like teleportation to him. Appearing in the air behind his head, Marc made a front flip kick and hit right on top of Balto's head with a paw.

*PA…!!!"* *BAAM*

A cute sound was followed when the paw landed on his head followed with too much force on his body that made a crater with snow in it.

When Marc landed on the ground again, the light in Balto's eyes was dimming very quickly before his world turned completely black and he landed face first in the snow.

Scratching his head like he was embarrassed, he told Esdea and the other ladies almost like he cared "I think I hit too hard. Do you think he will be okay?" He had to show his gentlemanly side to the hot ladies after all.
