Chapter 29: Fairy 26.1: Meredy
"Hmm, what kind of magic is that…?" Zack asked in a quiet tone. Not alerting the girl known as Meredy.
{Hmm, I can feel Ether getting stronger… emotions…? Interesting… I think I seen this magic before. I think this is Maguilty Sense, was it?} As one will expect from an ancient sword. Already knowing what magic, the little pink haired girl is using.
"Maguilty Sense?" Zack asked.

And slowly headed towards the pink haired girl, who on the other hand. "When Meredy able to help… Ultear…?" Meredy askes herself that. And sighed, not knowing that someone is came before her from behind.
"Ultear… is that your mother?" The person who sneaks near Meredy without her knowledge, Zack himself. Asked this, while the little pink haired girl herself almost jumped out of her skin! Not expecting anyone besides her in these parts of the forest she is in.
"W-Who…?" Meredy askes with a pale frighten face, as it is unknown if she is scared of the person that managed sneak up to her, or because she is both drain of magical powers and dead tired, that she became pale.
But nonetheless, Meredy still bites her lips, while she slowly turned around, and looked at the young man that called for her, as she looked into his grassy earthly green eyes, that lies behind his wild long dark blue hair.
"Me? I am called Zack Smasher, you?" Zack asked, noticing how wary she is being around him. So, he raised his hands up, showing he no harm to the girl.
"Meredy is told not talk to strangers." Meredy said in an emotionless tone, unlike her childlike one from before.
"I see, Meredy huh. Well, no need to be alarmed. I just been training around here like you. I felt magic here, so I checked it out, thinking if there is a monster or anyone in danger." Zack went with his gentle harmless smile.
"Meredy understands… but Meredy had to go, you see, farewell." Meredy went, as she knows she must flee from this man. It not because she felt scared, because she is! It is because where she is, that she must run away from this person!
After all, it is common sense, around forests like these, that are far away from cities and towns. There are only three kinds of people you will turn into. Fools that wondered and got lost in the forest, wandering wizards that also got lost, or just wandering in such dangerous forests like this one.
Or Dark Wizards just like herself. And Meredy felt this young man before is one as well! After all, Zack does look more like a Dark Wizard then a normal wizard, with his wild hairstyle, that increased the wildness to his charms, and his sobby and loose clothing choice doesn't help as well.
Not to mention, due to having his jacket sleeveless. It shows how overwhelming Zack's muscles are. And because of his looks, muscular body, and loose clothing, that fitting for most second rated dark wizards like to wear, besides dark cloaks and hoods. Made Meredy mistake Zack as for a powerful Dark Wizard that around B or A-Class in power! (C-~C++ in terms of stats)
However, seeing this young man also shows worry and goodwill towards her, when he asked her where she is from, like an adult worry over a lost child. Which also made Meredy doubts Zack is a dark wizard due to that kindness he shown, or maybe it is a ploy to lower her guard?
But soon her face also became paler, as Meredy thought of another possibility. After all, there also another kind of wizard that wanders around the deeps of forests besides Dark Wizards and wandering wizards. And they are bounty hunters!
And Meredy is a Dark Wizard! She is a dark wizard from one of the most powerful Dark Guilds out there, Grimoire Heart! Because she thought of that possibility, Meredy who still has a stoic expression on her face, was betrayed by her body, as it begun to shake like mad!
How can she not be scared? She is from that guild, that is infamous throughout Ishgar for their countless misdeeds. And there is no Ultear that can protect her, which is why somehow Meredy had to find a way to flee from this either Dark Wizard or Bounty Hunter that stood before her.
On the other hand, Zack stared and sighed at the little girl before her. Even if the pink haired girl, Meredy, tried to play it cool with her stoic face of hers. Her body gives how scared she is away.
However, nonetheless, there no way that Zack can let a child be, in such a dangerous place, that monster roams.
"Want me to see you off? It is dangerous for a girl to be alone in this forest. Even if you are a wizard." Zack told.
"Meredy understood your goodwill, but she will be fine." When Meredy said that she didn't want to waste any more time to flee. And quickly turned around and begun to walk in a fast pace.
However, maybe because he was too focused on fleeing from Zack, she failed to look at where she is stepping onto and managed to trap her feet in a mole hole, which resulted in Meredy facing the ground as she fell.
Another sigh came out of Zack's mouth, as he hopelessly watches Meredy fell face first into the ground, before he walked towards her.
While the girl in question, who is 11 years old, soon to be 12 years old. Felt like crying, when she did something so stupid. But soon that child-like expression faded, as she turned to her stoic one. And stood up, only to notice the guy that she trying to get away from, is right next to her.
