Chapter 36: Walls
Four people, three men, and a woman sheltered under a huge tree munching over some monster meat as heavy rain poured down. Two of the men were identical twins and even wore matching white cloaks, these two were the messengers who were accompanying Gary and Tiara on their mission. The woman who was off course Tiara wore a light blue chiton which perfectly covered her appealing figure, just highlighting her curves, while the man Gary wore a cloak of matching color of Tiara.
"This report is too detailed, it feels like an elders of the town himself made this report for us." Gary said while going through the report on Withlock town which was handed to him two days back when they left the encampment.
"Inner disciple Darvin has pulled many strings just so this mission could go smoothly, as for details don't we have informers in almost every town and city." One of the messengers spoke with a proud smile. Blood moon sect was a renowned sect, Even though they lacked in strength but their exceptional trait of gathering information was the sole reason they were among the top five evil sects. There have been even incidents in the past when prestigious families or even nations would heavily pay them for a piece of information.
"Huh..... Master-1 with dual nature, the lord of the town is surely strong " Gary spoke while reading details mentioning Drake.
"He just broke through to master last month you just have to follow the plan, leave all the killing to disciple Darvin." one of the messenger replied.
"Why is there so little information of their firstborn?" Gary questioned.
"The family had kept their firstborn's identity a secret not revealing much about him."
"He is just five, I will be the one to strangle both the baby pigeons" Tiara spoke with a wide evil grin. Tiara had a twisted personality even at evil sect standards, she was someone who found contentment in killing and tormenting the weak especially children. Before she became a part of the Blood moon sect, she was a criminal wanted for her heinous crime of abducting and killing children. "By the way, I was wondering why Disciple Darvin looked so invested into this mission, or am I just wondering things ?" Tiara asked with ignorant expressions.
"Rumors have it that he was a soldier of that small town, but he was kicked out by the lord of that town some thirty years back." replied the messenger,while keenly sensing his surroundings.
"Ohh, so it is revenge mission, I love such missions." Tiara giggled.
"Get ready we are leaving." both the messengers said simultaneously while getting up as soon as the rain lightened.
Gary kept the papers back inside the storage pouch while taking out a fake identity card that had a name written 'Roy' under his photo.
Both of them then nodded and got ready to enter the town. Tall barrier walls could be seen from a distance, when the Withlock family was flourishing these were the boundaries that marked the south end of the Withlock. But soon as Withlock was not able to perform well in the tournament after the fall of their strongest Lord (Solomon) the town was divided into 3 parts, two parts were offered to the two different middle size families as an additional territory while the remaining was present Withlock town . These huge walls which were built to protect Withlock now stood tall as a part of another family's territory as if mocking Withlock's incompetency to retain their lands.
"Don't bother. I will handle them." Darren whispered while slowly getting up and exiting the cavern. In these past few days both Nile and Darren had been seated right next to the glowing energy stone not even moving an inch.
'Let's end this fast' Darren thought as he rushed out of the cave towards the four remaining cultivators of the search party he had just sensed.
"Did they enter the cave ?" number five asked the rest of the group. When the search for team 2 wasn't fruitful they decided to continue on their mission, but once they returned to the rendezvous point the party leader was missing. After waiting for a couple of days they further moved towards the cave where the leader had gone to confirm the location of the energy stone.
"No, number one is rational, he won't rashly go face a warrior-6 monster" Number six replied.
"We will see for oursel-....." number three had not even completed his sentence when an axe severed his head.
All the six remaining eyes widened as the severed head fell on the ground and a tall intimidating man holding a bloodied axe stood in front of them. All the three of them trembled with fear as they sensed the killing intent of the gigantic figure who looked like the reincarnation of death itself.
"WH...OOOO aree-" 'SWOOOOOOOSHHHHHH' another dead body fell to the ground as Darren's axe cut through the stomach of the cultivator. Seeing their comrades die, number four who had a cultivation of warrior-1 dashed in the direction they had come from. While seeing their teammates fall like autumn leaves number six fell to the ground frightened.
Humans are enigmatic creatures they could stand beside death as a friend and slaughter hundreds without batting an eye but when they face this friend, they whimper exactly like the ones they had killed.
Darren shoved his axe deeply into number six's chest while following number four whom he soon caught and killed with a single blow.
Darren retrieved his weapon and soon returned to the cave, he did not even try getting rid of the dead bodies, as soon the monsters would eat up all the bodies. Before entering the cave Darren placed a huge boulder at the entrance. He then slowly sat near stone and continued with his cultivation.
