The only thing you weren't allowed to do was capitalize on items you absolutely couldn't wield. For example, a swordsman using a wand like a sword. It didn't possess a physical attack power so it was unable to be used that way.

Hence, the item which rested within Kaiden's hand could be used by him but it couldn't be equipped. In other words, it would return to a dormant state. As for the information on the item in question; it was substantial.
