"We're relying on you, Raiden. Once the barrier is destroyed, we'll attack immediately," said Kori as she spoke to Raiden. He was wearing a darker version of his usual outfit, sewn by Nori herself.
"I'll do my best to destroy them in time," spoke Raiden.
Kori smiled at him, then placed her hand on his shoulder and got close to him so she could whisper, "If you can't do it, just escape immediately. I'd rather fail the mission than lose you, Raiden."
"You won't."
...
"Are you ready, Sir Raiden?" spoke one of the pilots who was transporting him to the Fortress.
"Are you sure this thing is safe!" screamed Raiden. He was screaming because the door to the strange airplane-like ship he was in was open, and the wind was blowing too hard.
"Yes, yes! It is! At least, I think so! Jump, Sir Raiden, jump!" spoke the pilot. Raiden looked at the ground and said, "Jesus! Fuck, okay, okay, okay, here we goooooooo," and he jumped.
Raiden had his eyes closed as he jumped, but after a while, he opened them. He was still falling, but it was more relaxing. "Oh… This might not be so bad after all, huh?"
He started doing backflips and front flips in the sky, having a very fun time. He then looked at the ground and noticed the Fortress.
"Oh, fuck! Ekam em elbisivni," screamed Raiden as he went into his invisible mode. He then opened a parachute, clearly too late, so he said, "netfos ym gnidnal," softening his fall.
He landed on the roof of the fortress's biggest building, the headquarters.
'Thank God I memorized that spell before attempting the jump,' thought Raiden. He then looked around. 'So, from what the intel said, they have heat sensors everywhere in the fortress except the roof. As soon as I go down, I'm going to need to be stealthy... jumping using invisibility from the sky... I've got to give it to her, Kori is smart as hell.'
Raiden removed his invisibility as it was a waste of mana and decided to open the door and went down the first stairs. 'This floor is heavily guarded, probably because the leader {Yuma} is here. I'll deal with her later. First things first, the generator,' thought Raiden as he sneaked his way to the stairways down. Luckily for him, it was close to the rooftop door, so he didn't have to sneak too much. All he had to do was evade the cameras.
'According to the blueprints, this should be the best way down without having to encounter too many soldiers. Only janitors use this.'
Raiden opened the door then looked down. 'Sheesh, that's a long way down.' Looking at it, Raiden realized that he was about twenty stories up in the building. Walking down the stairs will make him risk being exposed. 'Fuck it, risks are the best part of sneaking,' thought Raiden as he jumped from the top of the stairs.
"Netfos ym gnidnal," said Raiden as he softened his fall. He then looked up to see a soldier shocked at him falling.
Taking advantage of the soldier's shock, Raiden sped up towards him. "Eníschysi sómatos: Dexiós vrachíonas." Calling the spell's name, Raiden enhanced his right arm and smashed the soldier's face on the wall, breaking the helmet and the wall behind him as the soldier passed out with blood coming out of his nose, mouth, and ears. 'Okay, that was close. I'll have to hide this guy and fix the wall.'
Raiden dragged the soldier's body and placed it in the ventilation window, a great place to hide someone as no one usually checks those. 'Okay, now that I'm on the bottom floor, I have to find my way to the basement. The only way down is through that elevator, face scanner, handprints, eye scanner, and a password, huh? What a way to protect the fortress's main generator. All that won't matter now, though,' thought Raiden as he carefully kept away from the cameras and waited for the men to come open the elevator for him.
'10:00 exactly, the vice commander will go down the elevator to give the order of activation and start charging the Radion Energy cannons. Good, he's on time.'
Raiden waited for him to scan his face, eye, and finger prints. Then, the moment he used the password, Raiden activated his spell. "Eníschysi sómatos: Pódia." Enhancing his legs, Raiden quickly came out of the stairways door and immediately ran towards the elevator after it opened up. While he was in the air, he kicked the vice commander's head, knocking him out. As soon as he landed in the elevator, the alarm sirens started ringing.
The cameras and the soldiers in the hallway saw him. The soldiers started shooting him, but nothing managed to hit him due to the elevator closing.
*WOOO* *WOOO* *INTRUDER*INTRUDER* *WOOO* *WOOO*
…
Sitting at a distance from the fortress, Kori and her small army awaited the alarming sounds.
"EVERYONE, PREPARE TO ATTACK! Raiden's in the elevator; that means he's close to the Generator."
'Stay safe, Raiden.'
...
In the brief moments that the elevator descended, Raiden prepared himself, taking a deep breath.
"Eníschysi se ólo to soma." Enhancing his body completely, Raiden activated his skill, {Determination of Steel EX}. His body went beyond its limits as blue lines covered his arms and hands, and his eyes glowed a more intense golden hue.
Outside the elevator, ten soldiers aimed their guns at the door, anticipating his arrival.
*Ting*
The door opened.
The soldiers commenced firing, the sound of bullets echoing through the area. After emptying their clips, the soldiers realized he wasn't there.
"Mahata NoRi Kamli? (Was it a false alarm?)" said one of the soldiers.
To answer his question, Raiden dropped down, holding onto the roof of the elevator. Immediately, he dashed towards the group, "Αερο Κεραινο," activating his first spell. The electric/wind combination proved lethal, annihilating the group waiting outside the door. Blood splattered all around. Raiden then looked up to check for the others. 'There were supposed to be more than twenty soldiers here; I only see ten.'
As if to answer his question, a laser blast hit his left shoulder – clearly a sniper. He looked up to see not one, but a couple of snipers positioned far away. They weren't that high up, since the basement wasn't tall, but it was enough to keep him on his toes. He quickly found cover. 'My enhancement can keep me safe for a while. Snipers, huh? Well, the best way to take a sniper down is to snipe them back.'
Raiden loaded his hand as a blood-red magic curse was ready to take them down. He looked at the first sniper, trying to locate them.
"ecnahne ym noisiv."
Zooming in to see him, Raiden aimed, then said, "Gandr!" The dark red spell shot immediately to the man's head, killing him on the spot.
Raiden continued the same momentum, killing the snipers one by one. After he was done with them, he looked back at the massive blue generator. "Time to destroy this thing."
"Mávri mageía: Κόλαση." From his hand, dark flames started forming into a massive dark ball of inferno flames. He then released it towards the generator, blowing it up.
The explosion served as the signal that the resistance needed to finally attack. "Looks like no one is coming down from the elevator to take me down. Looks like the resistance has started attacking."
"Throne of Heroes."
{Error, cooldown not yet finished.
Unable to Transform.}
"Tsk. This damn system has been on cooldown for a fucking month. What is going on with it?" said Raiden as he looked at the elevator. 'Looks like I'll have to continue fighting with magic.'
'I should have about 40% of my mana left.'
…
"ATTACK! Do not give up! They have lost their strong cannons! They are vulnerable!" screamed Kori as she flew around, using her green blast to destroy the citadel's soldiers.
She surveyed the scene, realizing that the soldiers were gaining ground quickly. She directed her vision to the top floor of the headquarters.
"Yuma! If I take her down, the Citadel's soldiers will be weakened, and their morale will drop."
Turning around, Kori flew directly towards the top of the building. She used her strength to break the wall as she attacked.
There she saw Yuma waiting for her.
"I see! It was the runaway princess! Had I known that you were leading the resistance, I would have sent word to Lord 'Pegan-min' and the Capitol. There's a hefty price on your head," spoke Yuma.
Yuma, a female Citadel General, would usually be wearing her normal army clothes, but not now. Instead, she was inside a massive robot-like machine, {Mak 3}. This was a suit of robotic armor developed by the war-hungry Citadel to fight in more wars. Currently, it's limited only to high-level generals and leaders due to the rarity of the material used to make it.
"I will be taking you down, Yuma, for my home," spoke Kori.
"What home? You lost this planet two years ago; your sister gave it up for us! The Citadel will control the entirety of the Vega Star System soon, and no one can do anything about it, AHAHAHA," mocked Yuma as she attacked. From her shoulder, a weapon arsenal opened up, shooting heat-seeking rockets towards Kori.
Kori evaded the first few rockets with her super speed and flight. She got out of the building to avoid exploding them in the building and having debris fall on her soldiers. She evaded a few but then turned around, grabbed one of the rockets, and threw it back towards Yuma.
Yuma evaded the rocket by flying away from the building too and went straight to attack Kori. She activated another of her suit's abilities, a sword made of energy. The sword extended from her arms, and she used it to attack. Kori dodged away as she charged her green energy and released it towards Yuma.
The attack struck Yuma on her shoulders, breaking her sword.
"Looks like you are all talk, Yuma," taunted Kori.
"DAMN YOU!" screamed Yuma. She then activated her trump card, the suit's self-destruction function. She quickly flew towards Kori, surprising her with a hug, and activating the self-destruct function. She used the ejection ability of her suit to jump back into the building and watched as the suit exploded while hugging Kori.
"HAHAHA, FUCK YOU, PATHETIC PRINCESS!" screamed Yuma in joy.
Before the massive cloud of black smoke dissipated, green energy could be seen shining through it. Then, with a single hand swipe, the entire smoke dissipated. Kori was there, shining in green, as her eyes glowed green too.
"That was a rich source of energy. Thanks, Yuma! I have to thank the Citadel as well for making me this strong!" said Kori.
She then used the leaking green energy to blast Yuma immediately.
She went into the building, grabbed Yuma by her leg, and flew with her up in the sky.
"General Yuma is down! The fortress is OURS!" screamed Kori.
The Resistance's morale increased upon hearing Kori's words, and the opposite for the remaining Citadel soldiers.
After a few more minutes, the Resistance managed to take over the entire fortress. Celebrations were happening all over the battlefield.
Kori located Raiden and flew towards him at super speed, hugging him immediately!
"RAIDEN! THANK YOU! This is all thanks to you," said Kori.
"I don't know; I saw you fight out there. You were hella impressive! You should take as much credit as I do."
"Hehe, thanks!"
Kori released Raiden before she said, "This is a great step forward for Tamaran, Raiden! I'm happy."
