Chapter 23: 23. A wise king never lets down his guard

Although it was morning, it was not difficult to find Morgan.

As her most loyal knight, Ian knew her habits.

At this time, she would enjoy the flowers in the quiet courtyard.

  That's the truth.

Walking out of the corridor, Ian immediately saw Morgan standing by the courtyard, quietly looking at the flowers blooming, with several maids following her.

However, Morgan didn't seem to care about the maid beside her

Compared to them, she seems to be more willing to spend time on the flowers in front of her.

  "My Lady."

Ian addressed Morgan respectfully as usual.

This was not something that was difficult for him to accept - after all, even when he was holding her down, she was still his princess.

Hearing someone calling him, Morgan looked back.

The moment she saw it was Ian, imperceptible ripples appeared in her clear blue eyes.

"You should step back first." She said to the maid beside her.

"I have something to talk to the knight about."

  "Clear."

The maids left wisely, leaving only Morgan and Ian in the courtyard.

To outsiders, this was a simple meeting between a princess and a knight.

However, before Ian could say anything, Morgan complained with a bit of dissatisfaction:

"Why did you leave without saying a word this morning?"

"Because you slept soundly, my lady."

"But do you know what it feels like when I wake up and find no one around me?"

Morgan's brows were filled with resentment.

"I don't like that very much."

"But my lady, if I don't leave early..." Ian looked around cautiously, "Maybe it will cause more trouble."

"It's just for a while, it won't be a problem." Morgan picked a flower and took a sip.

"Besides, I just want to hear you say good morning."

"I understand, my lady, it's my problem." Ian answered neatly.

"It's good to know." Morgan felt a little better, "So, Ian, do you have something to tell me?"

"You don't usually come at this time."

[You tell Morgan what you discovered about the other heir. ]

[You bluntly stated that this was not right. ]

[How come no one in the royal court knows the name of that heir? ]

[Morgan has no doubts about your words, and she also tried to recall the heir who was favored by King Uther. ]

Morgan covered her forehead with one hand and recalled everything in the past with great concentration.

She narrowed her eyes slightly and muttered a few words in her mouth.

  "Who is coming..."

[The situation seems to be worse than imagined. ]

[Morgan remembers everything she heard at the banquet that day, and also knows the gap she felt that day. ]

[But everything about this heir is like gold covered by quicksand—its traces are known but hard to find. ]

[She remembers such a person, but cannot recall any relevant information. ]

[Under such influence, even the existence of this person has become a question worth thinking about. ]

[She also realized that something was not right. ]

"Ian, are the others like this?"

Morgan let go of his hand and asked.

Her silky silver hair was already covered with tiny beads of sweat, and the memories of the past clearly made her feel a little uncomfortable.

"Yes, Your Lady." Ian nodded in response, "They are more serious than you. Some of them have even forgotten the matter itself."

  "..."

Morgan's eyes fell on the flowers again, but her mentality was completely different.

The flower that had just been picked was thrown to the ground by her.

  "Ian."

"I thought maybe we were under the influence of magic."

  "The influence of magic?"

"Hmm." Morgan's expression became serious, "This should be a suggestion magic."

  "This..."

Ian didn't question what Morgan said.

  On the one hand, it's out of loyalty;

  On the other hand, it comes from strength;

Morgan is an excellent magician, as she has proven many times.

"Is there no way to cancel it?"

"Over time, its effects have become deeply ingrained."

"And...the person who performed this magic is not inferior to me in strength."

Listening to Morgan's answer, Ian suddenly realized something.

"Then my dear princess, why would a powerful magician do such a thing?"

  "..."

  Morgan was silent.

Seeing her like this, Ian confirmed the answer in an instant.

"Your Majesty, is it related to the king?"

  "..."

Morgan bit her lip, obviously being poked in a painful spot.

Ian could completely understand her mood at the moment.

Normally, King Uther does not need to use this kind of magic.

Because for Britain, the king's descendants are worthy of celebration across the country - especially the descendants of virtuous King Uther, who are even more worthy of care.

In Ian's memory, the banquet that night was so grand that he could not forget it.

But now, this heir has become something that has been hidden in everyone's memories, and it is covered up extremely heavily.

There is only one reason that can explain all this.

  perhaps--

King Uther had already thought about the future actions of his daughter Morgan.

He chose a way to prevent Morgan from contacting this heir - that is, to erase his remains in everyone's memory.

The wise king never let down his guard against Morgan.

The moment he realized this, Ian even felt that King Uther was watching the two of them from somewhere above the royal court.

But compared to this kind of thing, he was more worried about Morgan beside him.

If she knew that King Uther's attitude had always been like this, she...

  Surprisingly, Morgan looked calm.

  She just asked a question:

"Ian, do I really look that bad?"

"My Lady, at least for me, this is not the case."

  "Yeah?"

Morgan sneered and said nothing more.

She turned around and walked towards the other side of the courtyard.

Before she was about to leave, she turned back and said to Ian like an order:

  "Ian, come early tonight."

"I want to fall asleep quickly."

[Morgan still suffered some blows. ]

[She demanded more from you and even gave you a potion that would make your body excited. ]

[But what you see in her eyes is not desire, but endless loneliness. ]

[You know she is sad, so you work very hard, hoping to make her fall asleep early in your own way. ]

[Every night, there will be traces of your presence in Morgan's room. ]

[The plan has been put on hold for now. ]

[However, you are still working hard to defend your hard-won identity. ]

[This month, you have killed three knights who came back from the front line to report information. ]

[While you were disposing of the body, a young man pushing a cart appeared not far away. ]

[That is a blond boy, but his delicacy makes you feel that gender is a very vague concept in him. ]

[He sends his greetings to you. ]
