Chapter 90: Crimson Moon

'How could this possibly happen?!"'

Staring at the two colliding beams of light, Morgan's eyes filled with intense shock, and her heart churned with turmoil.

Even with the use of the Power of the Island, she still couldn't gain the upper hand. What kind of existence could someone have to stand against the entire British Isles alone?

"Are you really that scared of just this much?"

'Altrouge' taunted, a hint of mockery played on her lips as she observed Morgan's stunned expression.

"Seems like an ant who's never looked up to the sky has such a narrow perspective. Allow me to show you the power beyond this planet."

'Altrouge' extended her hand and pointed once more to the crimson moon hanging in the sky.

It suddenly emitted a blinding red light, and a terrifying and immense power surged, causing the crimson beam of light to expand by a full circle. It pushed Morgan's magical beam back, charging relentlessly toward her.

Morgan gritted her white teeth, doing her best to fend off the onslaught of the crimson beam, but it was as futile as trying to stop a tank with bare hands.

As the approaching crimson beam grew ever nearer, her pale golden eyes betrayed a hint of despair.

*BOOOOOM—!!!*

The crimson beam struck the ground with tremendous force, then, after a brief pause, it swept out in all directions like a comet hitting the earth, creating an earsplitting storm. The shockwave stripped away a layer of the earth's surface, sending it flying across the vast plain.

Nearly ten minutes later, the terrible commotion gradually subsided. A massive cloud of dust billowed into the sky, resembling a mushroom cloud in the distance.

'Altrouge' crossed her arms on her chest, her expression still calm. Even from such proximity, she appeared unscathed, not even a wrinkle in her clothes.

"What a boring game..."

'Altrouge' sighed and turned to leave, but...

"Hmm?"

She suddenly paused, turned back, and looked into the depths of the dust and smoke, her eyebrows furrowing slightly.

Her keen sensitivity to blood was alerting her that there was still a trace of life.

"Even a primordial fairy's avatar shouldn't survive such an attack..."

'Altrouge' muttered softly, and with a wave of her hand, a gale arose, dissipating the dust and smoke.

Before her eyes, a vast crater stretched out, with Morgan at its center, still dressed in the black dress and very much alive.

Hundreds of golden particles surrounded her, emitting a lofty and ethereal aura as if she were in another world.

"That is..." 'Altrouge's' brow furrowed deeply, and her golden eyes displayed a hint of seriousness as she gazed at the golden particles.

Morgan, as an avatar of a primordial fairy, was filled with a very complex expression as she recognized the origin of these particles.

Moreover, if this thing was here, it meant that its owner was...

*Whoosh!*

Countless golden glows, like fireflies, ascended from the ground, converging into the sky, and their melodious sounds echoed throughout the heavens.

"Sheathed in the breath of the planet, a torrent of shining life! Feel its wrath! Excalibuuur!"

*BOOOM!*

A golden beam of light tore through the fabric of reality, hurtling toward 'Altrouge'.

'Altrouge' lifted her head, and her golden eyes reflected the descending golden beam. Her face remained as calm as ever.

Just moments before the beam was about to strike the ground, she raised her slender arm and caught the golden beam with her bare hand!

"What?!" Morgan, who witnessed this scene, stared in shock, her eyes wide open.

Without using any Noble Phantasms, Mystic Codes, or Magecraft, that vampire managed to block the full-force strike of a Divine Construct with just one bare hand!

How terrifying must her power be to accomplish such a feat?

The golden beam gradually faded, and a petite figure of a girl suddenly descended from the sky, landing in front of Morgan. The azure eyes of this figure were fixed on 'Altrouge', and there was an unprecedented seriousness in her expression.

"Lily..."

Looking at the girl before her, Morgan hesitated for a long while before finally opening her mouth, softly calling out her name.

"I'm sorry I'm late, Guinevere." Artoria said without even turning her head. "Please rest assured, I will make sure you get out of here safely."

Upon hearing those honest words, complex emotions welled up in Morgan's eyes.

'Altrouge' gazed at Excalibur in Artoria's hand, and her pupils constricted slightly.

"That sword..." 'Altrouge' voice carried a hint of solemnity. "Where did you get it from?"

Artoria was momentarily taken aback, not expecting that the enemy's attention would be focused on her holy sword.

—Until you've completely defeated your opponent, do not answer any of their questions, for something you inadvertently reveal could become the crucial factor leading to your defeat.

As Artoria pondered, she suddenly recalled her teacher's words of wisdom and soon made a decision.

"I found it on the road." She responded to 'Altrouge' with an earnest tone and face.

"..."

Both Morgan and 'Altrouge' were speechless.

"Do you take me for a fool, you damn brat?" 'Altrouge' said with a dark expression.

Artoria remained silent, clutching the holy sword in her hand and gazing at 'Altrouge' with her unwavering azure eyes, as clear as a lake.

'Altrouge' sighed inwardly, knowing that the girl clearly had no intention of revealing the truth. A hint of hesitation appeared in her eyes, and she raised her hand several times, only to lower it in the end.

Artoria furrowed her brow in confusion, not understanding what was holding her back. Was it because of Excalibur?

"If you don't want all your efforts of these past years to go to waste, I suggest you refrain from doing anything foolish, Crimson Moon."

At that moment, a young man's voice suddenly came from above.

'Altrouge', Artoria, and Morgan simultaneously looked up and saw a black-haired man clad in silver armor hovering in midair, with pale blue ethereal wings fluttering slightly behind him.

"Teacher!" Artoria's eyes instantly lit up with an expression of immense joy.

Morgan breathed a sigh of relief, a relaxed smile appearing on her face.

Their shared experiences had fostered a strong sense of trust in Arkhan for both of them. It was as if, as long as he appeared, no matter how hopeless the circumstances, he could effortlessly resolve them.

Crimson Moon who had possessed Altrouge's body, furrowed her brows, and for the first time, a 'serious' expression appeared on her exquisite face.

Since arriving on Earth, she had always acted discreetly, rarely showing herself to others. Until now, only a select few knew of her existence.

But this black-haired man who had suddenly appeared from who knows where had immediately disclosed her true name!

Just who in the world was this man?!
