Chapter 1: A LUNA'S BANE
I stared blankly at the ceiling. What have I just done? Was I out of my mind? But I expelled the thought. I really loved him with everything. He was a furious gale and I was the tenderest of roses. In short, Ceballos never let me down. Our love was strictly forbidden but I'd gone against my father's chauvinistic belief that women were a set of poor creatures who should be thought for, and who should have everything done for them because they were created without a reason. Everything I did on my own was deemed foolish by him but I never cared. I'd just taken a giant leap which might affect me for the rest of my life. The deed was done.
Ceballos and I were mated. My feeling was oxymoronic- I was pleasantly excited and scared at the same time. Excited because I'd found peace at last, and scared because the prospect wasn't going to paint pretty pictures if my father ever found out. He would skin me alive if he ever did find out. Political alliances be damned! My father had counselled them as being more important than feelings. But it was all crap. It wasn't my fault that I couldn't find my mate. Ceballos and I were simply lovers, and I loved him deeply.
I tilted my head in his direction when I felt him stir, his bright blue eyes stared at me. My breath came in fast gasps and I tried to steady it, but it was useless . I still felt wet between my thighs. A tear trailed down my cheek. My head lay on his chest while our hands were clasped together. I didn't mind his nakedness.
"I'm sorry, Alexa." his words came out gently, his voice deep and guttural but clear.
"No Ceballos, it's ok. Don't make it look like I did something bad. It really helped, I love you so much" I calmed him down. None of us could reverse time now, the deed was done.
I climbed down from the bed to dress up.
"I won't let you down, Alexa. I promise you that but I wonder how we will fight this battle, with your family opposing us. How will I be able to face him"
I was making my hair into a ponytail when he said that. I stopped sharply, and turned towards him. "You're being selfish. Do you think I never thought about that before I willingly gave my body to you. You should be concerned about me. If you were ever to think that I had the upper hand here because I am his daughter, you'd sooner cancelled that idea. Forget the way I'm treated in public, I'm just like an Omega back there in the palace. He treats me like an annoying insect that needs to be crushed. Be strong for me and we'll surely get through this"
I heard the hinges of the bed creaking. The next thing he was at my back, his monstrous dick teasing my ass. I think I still needed something inside me. The sex was great but the hunger for it resurfaced again as if I'd been starved of it for so long. He kissed my neck and it sent shivers down my spine.
"I'm so sorry if I was being selfish, but my love for you has no bounds" he kissed the exact spot again.
"Ok, then. Show me how much you love me." I spun around and our eyes clashed. He took my lips, hungrily again and danced me to the bed, our lips locked.
It was only a matter of time before I was writhing again in a puddle of ecstasy. My legs were stretched, and he slid into me as if he belonged there.

The atmosphere stretched taut so that you could hear a pin drop.
Shame kept radiating from me. I bowed down my head in utter shame to avert the murderous eyes of my parents and that of my siblings. It was already known that I'd slept with a Beta. It was one of the worst scandals that could ever be caused. But that was not the only scandal I had caused. In a month's time, I would be causing the worst form of scandal. Such had never been heard in all of the nine Packs. My father was still simmering about that and was contemplating on what to do with me, but things got worse when this information reached his ears.
He looked at me, hopelessness in his eyes. My mother went pale, but she intermittently raised her face in my direction and gave me a fierce, burning look. My brothers were the same way except Mia, the dearest person I'd never known.
"What nonsense! How long will we fold our arms and watch her do unspeakable things? Pray this information doesn't filter out of this room, else I will personally strangle you with my own arms. She has no place here and something must be done about it" My brother, Alpha Noah, spat out his annoyance in a vile manner, not sparing my nerves.
"You disgust me Alexa. You stink! Perhaps I'd been right all this while" My father was now speaking "the Moon Goddess might have gone crazy after all! She's crazy! Can't we see that"
My mother gasped and turned in his direction. This was in an attempt to tell him to curb his free-flow of profanities. But he got more angry.
"No, don't try to calm me down, woman. How can the Luna give me this thing as an heir? I regret ever being your father. Something must be done about this seriously. " he was now standing, pacing the room like a caged beast. He was completely red in the face. Then he suddenly barked out an order. "Gather everyone! I will make you see him die before your very eyes.
They'd also got Ceballos.
After what seemed like ten minutes, I began to hear murmurs of people downstairs. The people were already gathering. Ceballos was led out of the dungeon, he was dragged on the floor while sharp whips with tiny nails were lashed at his back. He was no longer Ceballos, the picture in front of me was his shadow. I gasped and stood in an attempt to do whatever my mind said but my father who was greatly enraged slashed his claws towards me. I clawed in an attempt to prevent the attack but I'd not been fast enough to avert scars on my neck. I fell on my knees and held where the scars were, crying. The scars healed immediately. We shifters had the ability to heal rapidly.
He turned and took a door by the left, he was going to the balcony. The door overlooked the large agora where the people gathered for serious announcements or when a convict was going to be convicted.
"Let this serve as a lesson to all of you." I heard my father cry out the normal words which had served him well over the years. "This man, Andreas Ceballos, has been found guilty of assault against the royal house. And pursuant to the law of the Pack, I, Alpha Ezra have decreed that such heinous crimes are banned on penalty of death. I pride myself as a just Alpha, but for this kind of crime there is but one sentence I can pass"
He gave a signal and I heard the people gasp. Ceballos had just been beheaded.
I shrieked a deafening scream and rose to rush towards the balcony but my brothers held me back. I clawed and clawed but it was useless. I only screamed, cursed and cried. Then I froze, unable to control my reaction.
My father came in shortly, in the company of his guards. His anger thus, pacified. He turned in my direction and spoke to me.
"Get ready, your marriage plans are underway. You will be wedded next month during the Carnella"
"I hate you! I hate you" I screamed, my eyes wide-open. "You are just a head of swine in human skin"
He turned menacingly towards me and cast me a cold stare. "Repeat what you just said again"
"I said you are a-"
And there was a total blackout.
