Chapter 36: Helplessness
Luna's POV:
I was glaring at my parents while outraging my displeasure. I can't believe my dad planned everything so far to lure Alex Choi with his own daughter!
"Luna, what are you even talking about? Aren't you disgraced? How can you blame your father so immorally? Do you even know how much your dad has worked so far to earn the reputation of the company? This business deal is too important for us to expand our business overseas and your dad has chosen you as the worthy person to fulfill the deal! And yet you are doubting his intention again?" My mom shrieked at me expressing her revolt against my response.
"And my decision, my life doesn't matter to both of you, right? I told dad that I don't want to be involved with Alex Choi in any means! But still, how could he decide everything on his own?" I grumbled at her with tears of anguish rolling down my cheeks.
"Milady, please calm down! Please keep a hold on yourself!" Mrs. Park slowly tried to approach me in my support after being silent for a long time.
Mr. Ri was standing still while watching the whole chaos with a distressed face.
"Don't barge in between our family Lily!" My mom suddenly roared at Mrs. Park with her blazing eyes. She seemed to be scared of my mom's threat and reluctantly stepped back looking mournfully at me.
"You call this a family? Hah! Do families trade their own daughters to expand the business?" I smirked at dad who seemed to be a bit offended with my outburst.
"Luna, I have transferred all the documents in your name for this deal. Mr. Ri will be accompanying as well as helping you with all official procedures! Alex will visit our office tomorrow to sign a virtual agreement between our two organizations. Now I just need you to co-operate with me--"
"I won't go! I decline your proposal!" I sharply interrupted him in an extremely insolent gesture. Everyone was staring at me quite perplexedly with a curious gaze.
"Luna, didn't you hear your dad? He has transferred every document to your name! How can you be so perturbing for us?" Mom was questioning me impatiently.
"Did I ask him to do so? It was his own decision and I don't give a damn to it! I am not going to work together with Alex Choi and that's my ultimate decision!" I ravaged my words and walked away hastily towards my room.
"Luna! Stop and come back!" My mom irked at me loudly in order to stop me.
I didn't look back.

Mr. Ri was frozen with an anxious look that prevailed over his face but couldn't utter a single word. After being awfully quiet for some time, Mr. Kim glanced at him quite viciously, "Mr. Ri, Luna will be visiting the office tomorrow at around 11 am. Make sure to help her out with everything!" He asked him very casually.
Both Mrs. Park and Mr. Ri seemed very surprised by his spontaneous behavior after all those chaos!
"Umm, but sir? Madam doesn't want to visit the office--"
"She will go! Don't you worry about that! You must be present here before the scheduled time! You can leave now, goodbye!" Mr. Kim sounded very oblivious while commanding him bluntly.
Mr. Ri was in awe for a moment after hearing his response. Slowly he started walking outside the house in a confused manner.
"Lily, bring some coffee for me!" Mrs. Kim commanded Mrs. Park in a cold yet firm voice abruptly after he left.
"Ye-Yes ma'am!" Mrs. Park left the area almost immediately as if she was keen to escape the tense atmosphere.
As soon as she left, Mrs. Kim looked nervously at her husband. He had a malevolent expression in his face while being lost in some deep thoughts.
"I-I will convince her! She will definitely do as you say! But please... don't do anything atrocious to my Luna! I beg of you! She won't go against you!" She looked around everywhere before requesting him in a low yet husky voice.
Mr. Kim smirked at her with a demonic gaze in his eyes.
"Ahhh my dear, I feel pity for you! You have been always trying to protect Luna deliberately from my wrath and yet she always misunderstands you! It must have been tough for you to endure her resentment all these years!" He replied to her with a fiendish gesture.
"I will do everything to keep her safe! But... I don't trust a brute like you! I have been enduring everything for her safety and I desperately want her to get married to Alex! At least, I can rest in peace!" She murmured slowly with a gruesome gesture towards him.
Mr. Kim slowly stood up from the couch and glared at her with a cryptic smile on his face. "I will be nice to her till she obeys me!
Remember, tomorrow within 11 am she needs to leave! Convince your arrogant daughter before my scheduled time! But if something shitty ever happens to my deal, I don't know if I can spare her or not! As far as you know me, I don't give a damn about anyone except myself!" He threatened her in an extremely dense tone before leaving back to his room.
Mrs. Kim was still sitting on the couch with teary eyes. She sadly stared at Luna's room and sighed heavily.
"I believe... Alex can definitely protect you from this monster, Luna! Please... choose him!" She mumbled slowly in a broken voice.
