Chapter 3: Dining together
*Li Haoyu's POV*
Tonight was my first time having a meal in this mansion's dining room.
The rectangular dining table was so big that at least more than a dozen or so people could sit down and enjoy a meal together.
But, the alpha and I sat so close to each other. I still have troubles speaking long sentences. And, writing down on my note book should be the only way I could communicate with this man. So, to sit this close with the alpha was convenient for me, of course.
Not wanting to leave any bad impression on the man that I have no manners, I chose to ask questions later.
Instead, I quickly finished my meal first and waited for him to finish his as well while writing down some questions I wanted to ask him on a piece of paper.
Since we are sitting so close to each other, I'm a bit nervous.
Every minute, his cold eyes would occasionally turn to glance at me while leisurely savoring his own meal and red wine.
Does my calligraphy look good enough?.....
This meaningless doubt occurred to me as I checked my questions written down on the paper.
Once I finished, I carefully folded the paper before nervously turning to the alpha who was sitting beside me.
"Mister.... "
I lowered my head and politely gave the folded paper to him with both of my hands.
The alpha casually took it and read the note whilst he leisurely continued to sip his wine.
"So many questions..... "
This remark prompted me to nervously fidgeted my fingers. Hearing no more words from the alpha after this remark, I subconsciously lowered my head even more.
Have my questions ended up annoying him?
I doubted. But, I didn't regret writing down those questions. I need to know the answer. And, I had to.
" Kidnappers....your father's corpse?
I have no idea what these questions are about. When I saw you that night, you were collapsing in the middle of the main road with bruises and injuries all over.
That's how I save you.
I simply have no answer for your questions. "
The alpha casually gave the folded paper back to me after saying those words. This kind of answer was the last thing I had expected. I thought I would at least got some clues about those gangsters from this man. But now....
It was then I felt some cold fingers brushed past my neck.... to be exact, the scent glands on my neck.
Startled, I instantly covered my neck with a hand and stood up from the chair before quickly shifting backwards.
I almost forgot this man is the alpha all along since I just can't sense his pheromone at all.
Touching the neck of an omega who is not one's mate, is considered to be the most disrespectful act of all.
Some might called this as a way of alphas showing their interest in an omega.
But, for me, I would only call this as something extremely rude.
Only I know how sensitive these scent glands on my neck are. This alpha man is the first person on earth who dared to touch my neck so casually like this. I didn't know with what intentions this alpha touch my neck. But, one thing was for sure. I really don't like it. This made me scare and feel really insecured.
"Sorry..... I didn't mean to.
I think I saw something in your hair and just want to help you remove it. That's all. "

*Wang Mingze's POV*
Tilting the glass of tasteless wine to my lips, my eyes couldn't help wandering to the pretty omega beside.
He's so small and short, maybe barely making 1.5m in height.
White jade like complexion, soft blonde hair, sparkling light blue eyes....
this omega is one of the most beautiful ones who didn't fail to catch my attention.
That said, he would be more adorable if he's less inquisitive about things he shouldn't.
My casual answers didn't seem to satisfy him.
But, why'd he even bother to be curious about that long gone old man in the first place?
Bringing up the topic of that old man is enough to boil my blood and anger. Despite knowing that disgusting animal no longer exists in this world, my grudge seems to be taking some time to fade away completely.
Was it a wrong decision to let that animal die right after a few tortures?
Was it a wrong decision to spare this adopted son of that animal?
Despite not being blood related at all, this omega was still brought up by that disgusting animal after all.
Maybe my lingering grudges will finally vanish after tormenting this pathetic omega.
But, will the formal torture be too much for him?
The corner of my lips subconsciously curled up into a smirk as my burning gaze landed on the omega's tempting scent glands on his neck.
Honestly, I am extremely tempted to sink my teeth into those enticing scent glands and make this pretty omega my sex slave.
At this wild imagination, I found my fingers unconsciously reaching out to his long neck and brushing past that very sensitive area.
This omega definitely knows how to overreact things though. It's just a light brush but he was scared sick.
Covering his neck, the omega even got up from his seat just to distance himself from me, frightened.
If only he could see through with what sort of wild thoughts I touched his glands, he might break out into tears on the spot.
Fortunately or maybe unfortunately, the dim light from the sole chandelier in the dining room is not enough to help the omega trace hints of lust in my eyes.
"Sorry..... I didn't mean to.
I think I saw something in your hair and just want to help you remove it. That's all. "
A ridiculous excuse even I myself was not convinced in the slightest....
In fact, it amazed me as to why I even bothered to make an excuse.
In his sharp eyes, there are traces of doubts, annoyance - and if I'm not wrong there is even mild anger.
How bold....
A lowly omega daringly looking at a noble alpha like me with such gaze....
Pathetic....
he doesn't even seem to realize what kinds of consequences are awaiting him if that gaze offended me or ruined my mood.
But, fortunately for him, I am still in the mood to be a....gentleman.....
