Chapter 57: The Chi youngster awakens

Groaning, Chi Weiran's brows drew together tightly before he opened his eyes. Turning his head to the side, he tried to determine where he was. He vaguely remembered being carried to the healer's infirmary, however, the room he was in now appeared different.

Contrary to shelves with herbal ingredients and a table laid with different tonics and medical tools, this room appeared simple and quite tidy. There was only a single bed to the side, a desk with educational tools, a shelf with books and a plain wooden chair.

Feeling parched, he sighted a pitcher with water and an enamel cup beside it on the small table beside the bed. He attempted to move his body, but immediately a nerving shock zapped through his body, rendering him immobile.

"I can't even move by myself…" Sighing hopelessly, Chi Weiran listlessly raised his arm to stare at it.
