Chapter 3: William Shakespeare in the flesh.
"What do you think you are doing to my girl?" Ethan growled at the masked man.
You stood there silently, feeling the tears roll down your cheeks. 'Romeo glared back at him and stole small glances down at you. " By the look of things.. I don't think she wants you here."
It sounded calm but inside he was ready to explode just by looking at one tear drop rolling down your face. Ethan scoffed grabbing your hand, pulling you away. .. Away from the man you had just met tonight. .. Away from … the exhilarating feeling he gave you in those short moments.
You somehow Managed to snap yourself out of your thoughts. You were outside a few blocks away from the house now. Pulling yourself to a stop you yank your hand away from Ethan staring at him coldly.
"Sky. What's is your problem. " he shouted at you rubbing his head in frustration.. " I know you still want me. " He stepped closer to you trying to grab once again. You stepped out of the way. " no.. " You said smally. " no.. I don't." He stood there shocked at your words coming closer to you once again. Instead of trying to grab you this time he just leaned close to your ear and whispered. " You will never be good enough for me or him or anyone else. Stop acting full of yourself and just come with me so we can talk things ou...." before he could finish He was on the ground. You gasped at the sudden action and quickly recognized the man on top of Ethan. It was 'Romeo'. After throwing a few punches to Ethan's already distraught face He came close to me and grabbed me pulled me to him and panted his lips hard on mine. I sunk into the kiss letting go of all thought. The feeling was back. it was powerful more powerful then i have ever felt.
He pulled away leaving you breathless and confused." Don't you ever.. come near her again" he growled at the man on the the ground . Pulling me with him, we walked silently. After a short while i slowed my pace trying to slow him down.
"Hey uhm..." I called out to him but he didn't stop. " HEY ROMEO. Stop!" I yelled. He finally stopped laughing slightly at the nickname he acquired for the night. It seemed to calm him down quite a bit.
"where.. where are we going.?" I said quietly looking down at my feet. He stood there shocked for a moment and then chuckled. " You know i have an actual name."
" okay but you never told it to me so how else can i get your attention?" i said with a smart attitude. " Oh trust me my dear Juliet you have my attention." He smirked at me. " You know, I have a name to.. " I said sternly back to him." " If i were to call you anything else i fear my fairy tale story would be over" he pouted.
"THIS ISN'T A FAIRY TALE AND IT'S JUST A NAME!" i snapped annoyed. Yes he saved me from Ethan. and yes he made me feel crazy things I've never felt before but who does he think he is? This isn't a game. I don't even know what he looks like let alone his actual name and he's teasing me? After all of that? He stood shocked at me. " please Just stop playing with me.. i can't take it." i said my voice cracking slightly as i look back down to the ground. A tear rolled down my cheek.
"Hey.. Hey .. I'm sorry i was just trying to lighten the mood." he said moving closer to me gently caressing my cheek to move my face to look at him. " Tell me your name.." He said sweetly staring into my eyes.
" It's Skyler." I said in a hushed tone.
" Skyler.. What a beautiful name to match a beautiful girl." He replied wiping my wet cheek with his thumb. he smiled down at me.
" What about your name?" I asked feeling calmer.
He paused before answering looking as if he was pondering telling me.
" William." He replied looking away from my face.
"Woah.. William Shakespeare in the flesh?" I tease him in a joking tone.
" Oh ha ha. Will is fine and although I'm not the great man himself.. I'd still hope for you to be my Juliet." He replied looking into my eyes once again. My face started to get hot again. I turned my head away from his careful gaze and cleared my throat.
" Okay Will.. Where are we going?" I said looking around the dark street.
Judging by his face, he didn't think that through yet.
"Well i can walk you ho.."
" I don't want to go home yet" I cut him off before he could finish. It's true i didn't want to go home. i didn't want to lose the feeling he gives me again. I'm afraid if i part with him now i would never get it back. I'd just go back to numb.
" Okay then.. Well you can come to my place.. you know.. if you want.." " he replied rubbing the back of his head trying hard not to make direct eye contact with me.
" Okay, Let's go " I started to walk past him but he caught my hand.
I turned around confused.
"It's this way" He pointed to the opposite direction" Cockily smiling.
" Well it's not like i know!" I replied walking hastily towards the direction he pointed has he laughed and caught up with me ultimately leading the way.
