Chapter 36: COLD ICE DOCTOR GOT MARRIED.
Imperial City in Trust Hospital next morning,
Today Louis drove Seren to the Health center as her car was at the hospital's parking lot. When she entered the hospital entrance she felt everyone's curious gazes on her. Without minding people around her she just went to her office and wore her doctor's coat. Not even waiting for a single minute she directly strode towards the ICU ward to check on the patient's condition.
Seren entered the ICU ward where she saw Kevin checking the child's vitals. She strode towards the 11yr old male patient as she asked Kevin, " Is everything good?".
Kevin who noticed his boss coming replied, " His vitals are stable and his body seems to be in good condition. But boss there is one problem".
Seren who caressed the boy's hair asked, " Speak".
Kevin replied, " 24 hours have already been passed but he still doesn't seem to gain consciousness".
Seren said, " It's okay. We can't say anything right now. We must give him time".
Kevin with a worried face asked, " But if he doesn't wake up them we have to consider him as brain dead".
Seren looked at the fragile body lying on the hospital bed as she replied, " It has to be at least 48 hours first and then 72 hours to pass so that we can make another decision. Don't jump on conclusions".
Kevin looked down as he realized how harsh his words were and said, " Yes boss".
Just then the Chief entered the ICU ward. Kevin and Seren both greeted him.
The chief Dr. Richard Adams said, " Is the child doing okay?".
Kevin replied the same as he did to Seren, " His vitals are stable and his body seems to be in better condition now".
Chief replied as he scrutinized the patient, " It seems he hasn't gained consciousness. We need to wait for more 72 hours. Keep a watch on him".
The Chief and Seren had gave the same reply and order about the patient's condition. It seemed that Kevin needed to learn a lot from his seniors.
At the receptionist's desk some doctors and nurses were gossiping something.....
" Did you see Dr. Seren's husband? He was so damn handsome. He even carried her all the way".
" Did you know that last night I was the one who checked Dr. Seren's IV drip. When I entered he asked me whether he can take her home. Even director ordered me to discharge Dr. Seren. He was so sincere when he asked me. I almost fell for Dr. Seren's husband"
" But what do you think? Isn't it strange that the cold ice doctor got married suddenly".
" Who will not want such an handsome husband? He is a complete flower boy type. Will Dr. Seren mind if I steal her husband?".
" I feel bad for Dr. Caleb. He must've been heartbroken. I heard he has been chasing ice doctor since their medical college days but as always she was cold to everyone".
" Did you see Dr. Caleb today? He was same as usual. I mean like he was smiling when I greeted him in the morning. There wasn't even a hint of sadness on his face".
" I saw him too. He was looking normal. Did he forget ice doctor already?".
" Guess he has already overcome breakup condition".
" So fast? I guess everyone came to know that Dr. Seren was married yesterday. Isn't it?".
" Its not like he didn't expect that. Wasn't it obvious? Ice doctor has never accepted his love so what does it matter if she has a husband?".
Just then Seren and Chief exited the ICU ward and one of the nurses noticed their presence.
" Stop talking chief and ice doctor is here".
Seren went to her office ignoring all the gossips about her which she already seem to know. Later when she was in her office reading some medical case papers a nurse came in and told Seren that Director Dr. Andrew Corden has asked for her.

Imperial City at Trust Hospital in evening,
Seren was organizing her things as she was ready to leave. She messaged Louis as to notify him that she was coming home late. The next moment when she was about to leave her phone rang. It was the same familiar number, 'Quack'.
Louis who was on the other line asked, " Where are you going? Will it take time? ".
Seren replied, " Not much. There's a dinner party arranged for my surgical staff members by the hospital director and I cant reject it so I must at least be present there".
Louis asked, " So will I be eating alone at home Wifey?".
Seren replied as she sighed, " I won't be eating dinner with them so I am saying that I'll come home for dinner. I am just going to go there to show my presence for some time".
Louis said, " Send me the address. I'll come pick you up. I can't let my wife go alone".
Seren replied, " It's fine. I can go back myself".
Louis said, " You know I don't like to be alone. I'll just get bored waiting for you so its better to come to pick you up. Also from last night's incident it's better for us to be together. Wait for me like an obedient wife there. Okay?".
Seren replied helplessly , " Fine" and disconnected the call.
Seren thought, " This quack is becoming more and more dominating these days. Either he'll try to make his way from childishness or either from stubbornness. I don't understand why does he treat me like a kid? Isn't he the younger one? Just leave it be".
As Seren was thinking about Louis's behavior these days , the last night's incident passed through her memory. She remembered the way Louis asked to hold his hand and how they hugged each other like a real married couple. How Louis cared for her whether she was feeling cold.
Seren realized her heart beating fast as she remembered those memories. She shook her head and slapped herself on cheeks in order to come back to her senses. Unknown to herself she was starting to understand the feeling called love.
