Chapter 43: THAT WAS JUST A GHOST IN DISGUISE.
Imperial City at Theme Amusement Park,
He asked Seren, " Do you want to go in?".
Seren said as if not interested, " Well if Mr. Edward likes then I'm fine with it".
Seren always seemed to be never interested in any of the things except her work. She always had an cold, expressionless face which showed no emotions. But this time she was really not interested in going to the haunted house. She feared ghosts the most. But right now she didn't wish to show her emotions to the man beside her and didn't wish to deny either. What if Louis wanted to go in the haunted house? Just because of her fear can she let him not go in too?
She decided to keep quiet and just go with the flow. She didn't like other people to be troubled because of herself as she thought, " Let it be. I can just ignore those ghosts inside there".
Louis thought, " How did we end up here? Weren't we heading to the aquarium just now? Is Seren actually interested in horror? But what should I do? I cant just say that you go alone cause I'm feared of ghosts. What will she think of me? A grown up man fears ghosts? Guess I have to go inside".
Louis said as he looked at Seren, " Let's go".
Seren asked as she thought there might still be little hope, " Is it really okay for Mr. Edward to go in?".
Louis nodded as he didn't want to let go of his pride in front of his wife.
As they entered the house , Seren kept glancing at the man in front of her. She thought that Louis really liked entering inside. Louis was at the front while Seren was walking behind him. Only he knew how much he was scared. FEAR was written on his face with bold letters.
Time passed by and the couple's uneasiness kept rising as they moved further inside the haunted house. The house was pitch black and all sorts of scary things were inside it. Everything just seemed so realistic , even the sounds and the ghosts in disguise.
Seren's expressionless face slowly changed as she was scared to go inside further and closed her eyes for a moment. Suddenly she felt as if someone held her hand tightly as she opened her eyes in shock and fear.
Louis who was holding on until now had started to waver. He just turned back and held the hand of his wife who was behind him.
He didn't look at her as he said, " Just hold my hand. It's dark in here".
Louis didn't wish to show how scared he was so he just held her hand but not even looking at her. Seren too tried her best not to show her real emotions. She kept glancing at the man who had held her hand. It was because the man who was always talkative , suddenly turned quiet ever since they entered the house.
Louis halted the moment they reached a dimly-lit room, surrounded by little candles. It looked like a room where rituals of witches were held. He turned towards the girl as he held her hand more tightly. Seren noticed that Louis was covered in sweat and there was fear in his eyes. Seeing Louis in that state and she as herself was scared hence she decided to go back.
She said as she held his hand, " Let's go back".
Louis's mind wasn't even working properly anymore yet Seren's voice was a loud bang that startled him. His grip on her hand loosened a bit as he tried to come back to his senses.
Seren turned back as she held Louis's hand. However, the first thing she saw was a wooden coffin surrounded by candles. Her eyes instantly turned wide in fear. She was about to cover her eyes when the coffin suddenly opened and a hand of rotten corpse appeared.
Seren screamed , " ahhhhh !!!! " as she instantly hugged the man beside her. Louis was scared too as he screeched with her at the same time. Both were shivering as their loud piercing scream echoed inside the house. Louis was speechless as he could tell that his woman was scared to death, even hugging him so tight like she was trying to squeeze him.
Louis was himself as scared as her but still he raised his hand and patted her back while trying to console her as he said, " That was just a ghost in disguise". He was trying to console himself by saying this too.
Seren hiding her face in his chest didn't even loosen up her intense grip on him as she replied, " I know that. But it's still scary".
Louis said as he too held her tight and closed his eyes while hiding in her nape, " It's really scary. Let's leave from here".
Seren then gently let go of him and held his hand. But Louis pulled her closer to him again as he said, " Let's just stick to each other. I'm really afraid".
She let him hold her as she was scared herself. They both started walking towards the exit while holding each other as tight as they could. But then, what happened next was a disaster.
A group of zombies and ladies dressed in white suddenly appeared behind them and started grabbing their arms and legs. The disguised staff were top notch professionals and they acted very realistically. Seren held Louis more tight and Louis even kicked some of the zombies but like pros, the staffs didn't stop.
Louis said to Seren as he was hugging her, " This won't do. We need to run".
Seren nodded her head and when she heard Louis saying , " 1, 2, 3..." and they both started running hand in hand without looking back at all.
Finally when they realized that they were out of the haunted house as the bright sunlight shone on their faces they were relieved. Both hugged each other as tight as they could as they were happy to finally come out from that dark scary house.
Seren was laughing from ear to ear as she remembered herself in the house. Louis was laughing with her too upon his silly self. He noticed that Seren was finally laughing which was something really different from her usual expressionless and cold face.
He tucked the strands of her hair at the back of her ear which were blowing with the flow of wind. He thought that she looked the most beautiful right now. Louis's sudden gesture made Seren come back to her composed self.
Louis didn't bother as he commented, " You should smile often. You look more beautiful like that".

well our intelligent readers may have already noticed but let me announce it once. i have changed our novel cover into a new one with lots of efforts and editing. thankyou so much for waiting for the updates eagerly for such a long time. i am really grateful to all the readers who have been reading and supporting my novel by donating their precious power stones.
i'd like to tell you'll one thing. i myself am scared of ghosts so i practically try to avoid such situations hence i never had experience of haunted house. therefore for this chapter i read some other novels and used their different horror plots as a reference. i sincerely apologize to the authors who felt that my behavior was rude and unacceptable. but i am really telling the truth that i only took the atmosphere and surroundings of haunted house as a reference. rest all was my own creation. well even if i say that it still wont make any great difference but i am really sorry for lack of experience myself. hope you'll try to understand me.
