The northern city that Lia saw when she had stepped down from the train came to mind.

"Del Casa is a mix of Eteare and Corsor. The slums and downtown are next to each other. There are schools and forests that you'd love."

"My lord." Lia placed a hand carefully on Claude's chest. His offer was anything but surprising, but it was one she couldn't accept due to her current circumstances.

He must have known the reason behind her reaction, for he drew her close to him and pressed their foreheads together, his expression stern. "I think I've played along with your games long enough. What else is there?"

"I cannot make these decisions on my own. Not to mention…" Lia trailed off, the rest of her sentence crumbling like sand in her mouth.

"Not to mention?"

"I still have matters to tend to."
