Chapter 64: A Gift

 When we walked out of the store, Alexi paused and turned to me.

"Astra, do you mind getting us some ice cream from over there? You can pick whatever flavor you want for me. I'll be right back."

"Okay."

I wondered where he's off to? Oh well. Ordering us both a couple of cones of ice cream, I waited for him on a table outside the ice cream shop. Not wanting the ice cream to melt, I started eating my cone while I waited for him. After a while, I saw him come back with his hand behind his back.

"Close your eyes for me?"

"Why?"

"I have a surprise."

"Okay, but if I end up with ice cream on my face this is war."

He chuckled as I closed my eyes. My hair is moved to the side and I felt a chain clasped around my neck.

"You can open your eyes now."

Looking down I saw the star I'd been looking at, hanging from my neck and couldn't help but gasp in surprise. 

"How?"

"It fits you perfectly."

"I can't afford this."
