Chapter 4: NEW REGIME
It's been two days since I Hades along with other members of Flock have taken over the royal castle. The capital has been eerily quiet since we have taken oner like everyone as sensed a new change in the wind it's the capital after nothing goes unnoticed.
"Hades the 3rd prince would like to meet you." A guard dressed in full red holding a rifle says to me while saluting.
" Hello Hades I am 3rd prince Alexander Julius IV it's a pleasure to meet you." A young man dressed in a royal blue suit his family famous silver hair tied up into a ponytail.
"It's an honour your royal prince." I say bowing then taking a seat beside him." So how is the preparation for my ascent to the throne have you run into any issues so far." He asks looking at me with sharp eyes.
" Your 2nd brother has hired two diamond rank adventures to his side plus he's mobilizing the royal arm to attack." I say to him then take a sip of the tea placed by the maids earlier.
"I see he was always the most troublesome one of the bunch how is the gathering of the allied nobles going." He asks while rubbing his forehead.
"All of them are heading towards the capital with a combined force of 100,000 lead by Duke Henry Flamburge." The prince sits back then sighs after a full minute he gets up and says.
"We need to launch an attack on my brother palace right now I've friends in the city guards plus they are some nobles who are itching for a reward I will gather them together to help you may leave now." I get up and bow leaving immediately with the 3rd prince order.
" So how is the princess doing?." I ask the tired la puppeteer.
"Her condition is stable in a week or two she would be completely healed, if I was any better with my powers it would've been finished already."He answers then gets up and pour himself a drink.
"Don't worry about that tomorrow we will be launching an attack on the first prince resident, you will be here to continue to heal the princess I will have my contact in the city come over to help everyone else will go on the offence." I say to him he simply nods the goes back to enjoying his drink.
" Warmonger what's the enemy numbers and equipment tell me everything we are going up against." Suddenly a human shape figure exit from my shadow with a black scythe in hand with a creepy voice says.
"50,000 all armed with outdated rifles that only have a maximum capacity of 10 and are bolt action, they have heavy cannons but I will handle does apart from that the two diamond rank are Frost wolf a survivalist adventure and Firemaster a shark loaner." The voice says while swinging left to right slowly.
Although diamond rank like myself unlike me who specializes in combat skills these two are just boys plus Warmonger is a top-class hitman.
"Commence operation: Kingslayer " the shadow smiles the melt back inside my own. Time to sleep tomorrow going to be a long day.
" Jake Fallon at your service bringing one thousand men."
" Tiana Pat bringing 1000 men."
" Count Jacob sheepvilla bringing 5000 men."
" City Guard commander bringing 3000 men and one twenty heavy cannons."A bunch of well-dressed men and woman says in order while bowing to the prince.
That brings our total number to twenty thousand if you include the prince own force but compared to our enemy that's nothing.
"Thank you all for coming here today, has your all aware my eldest brother prince Edward the first has gone mad with power and kidnap our father and my mother the second queen, it's our duty to rescue him and bring order to capital, on his way with a force of a hundred thousand men is my uncle word is that he will support whichever prince who comes out victorious in this battle as king and as your future king I promise to reward every one of you handsomely." The prince says rallying up everyone it seems to be working on everyone except on the city commander he probably heard this speaking a hundred if not a thousand time with his old age.
" To my right is Hades leader of an Adventure group called the Flock all of their members are a gold rank adventurer and he is a diamond rank with their strength victory is guaranteed!" He says raising his hand in the air and everyone follows along with myself to not spoil the mood.
" So Hades who should lead the attack." The prince asks while having all his medal and awards placed on his clothes ." The royal guards that were places to watch you If my teammate failed to kill both of your brothers during this battle having men loyal to him in your ranks would be fatal.
" I say to him while sitting down on a stool." Yes, that would be for the best as my father always say keep your friends close and your enemies closer." The maids finally finish with dressing him up and bows then leave.
" After this event is finished where will your adventure group will be heading?" The prince says turning towards me with his hat on his side." Most likely south to the kingdom of tundra or north to the Futam Empire it depends on what contacts I receive first.
"I say getting up and saluting towards the prince." If that's the case be my personal guards I will have lands handed to you and your men plus the title of Marquis to you and Baron to all other members of the Flock." A tempting offer I'm sure the people from earlier would kill to have that hand to them unfortunately land and title are useless to me.
"Sorry I have to decline my roots are not of this country gaining such a high position would be very counterproductive and troublesome."The prince smiles then say.
" I understand then I will hand you the title of Count and a piece of land near the capital in case you wish to settle down here otherwise all promise reward will be handed to you." He says walking off silently.
" All men march today the evil prince and his minions will be extinguished!" The prince says on his horse and to a crowd of mix-match coloured uniform soldiers who shout and hold their rifles in their left hand and their right hands across their heart. With the royal salute over we being our thirty-minute walk towards the enemy base with only the sounds of drums and trumpets being heard through the entire city.
