Chapter 14: REWRITING
(Never mind was a dumb idea lol)
The next day, he texted Avery a smiley face and a "Good morning baby :)" she replied "Good Morning 🥰"
He started his day by doing his workouts, and eating breakfast. He then jogged to his practice.
When he arrived, everybody gave him the cold shoulder. He even went up to Henry and Henry gave him a disappointed head shake.
"Cmon guys! I had a date with the girl! You understand right?"
They didn't respond, and just humphed.
John then shamelessly said "Your just jealous I have a girlfriend you idiots! If you looked half as handsome as me you might get one! Sigh...too bad I can't share this blessing of handsomeness with you guys"
Somebody spit blood, and Dwayne almost fainted from anger.
"HEY HEY RELAX. You know, I'm technically your employer! You know what, I'm in a good mood! How about a raise on your contracts huh?"
The team instantly got happy, and greeted him.
"Haha! Uncle John! I knew you wouldn't disappoint!"
"Yes yes! Uncle John truly is a saint in a human disguise!"
"Uncle John! I need to pay for my gas bills for going home, can I have a million dollars?"
After the shenanigans, they started practice. John one on oned Dwayne, and both gradually improved. Even though John is a talent and knows how to train people, he didn't have much experience in being a receiver because when he became a star he was disabled. Playing against Dwayne was making him constantly improve his route running and helped him gain experience, and the same for Dwayne.
After practice, John streamed with Avery and then did his workouts. You might be wondering, what happened to school? Well, he quit. Again. He already pretty much has his life set up for him so why the hell should he learn about how to get the circumference of a circle?
He did his workouts before falling asleep.
A week passed and the same cycle kept happening before their next game. He invited Avery again, and she agreed to watch.
They were playing against the 5th best team in the league, and were currently picking heads or tails.
"Tails" the opposing team called.
The coin landed on tails.
"Offense or Defense?"
"Defense"
The offense lineup on the London Dominators went out, and so did the defense on the other team.
The coach made John do a post and the tight end cut under. Both were wide open but John was farther down so Henry threw it to him. John caught the ball and went for 30 yards before getting tackled.
The next play, John did a straight. He beat the corner with pure speed and the safety bit a stop and go that John did. He was running to the end zone and Henry threw the ball right into his hands. John ran it in for a touchdown, making the score 6-0. They went for a field goal, and it was good and now the score was 7-0.
Possession changed and the defense was out. The opposing team tried to make their faster receiver pass the safety using pure speed. John knew the opposing coach probably watched Dwaynes footage and saw his speed was lacking, so chose to beat the defense with speed.
Sadly, it did not work because John also knew his weakness was speed and had John do agility drills, backpedaling, and shuffling. He intercepted the ball, and ran for 10 yards before getting tackled.
It switched to offense, and John sprinted off the start, but it was a distraction. Henry handed it off to the running back and he ran 50 yards before being forced to run out of bounds.
This time, the coaches wanted to test a trick play.
"Down...set...hike!"
Henry snapped, and it looked like the same play as he handed it off to the running back. The running back had the ball, but suddenly tossed it back to Henry. John was wide open in the end zone, and Henry bombed it towards him.
John was already on the edge of the touchdown, but the ball was still too high to catch with only standing.
He jumped, extended his right arm as far as possible, and the ball entered into his hand.
"Touchdown!" The ref called
The Dominator cheered loudly, and some were cracking joke.
"Shiiiiiiit John you sure you ain't black?"
"God damn he must have a white suit on!"
(Its a football joke because most receivers in the nfl are black)
It switched to defense and the qb either got sacked, threw it out, the ball got swatted, it it was intercepted.
For offense, the coaches kept testing plays and some worked but other didnt.
At the end, the team got mercy ruled and they headed home.
He walked up to Avery, and gave her a kiss. Little did he know, a shocked mom and a joyful dad with a mischievous smile were right next to her.
"Damn son! When are my grandkids coming?"
"Did you finally get a girlfriend?"
This entire time, his parents were on a honey moon and vacation, because in Johns last life their biggest regret was not having a honeymoon for the wedding and taking no vacations.
He bought them tickets to a hotel resort and they stayed there the entire time and came to surprise him when they heard he was playing a game.
His dad looked proud while the mom kept looking at the girl that John set everything up for, she had suspicions and they were confirmed when he walked up to her and gave her a kiss.
John smiled, and said "This is my girlfriend! And if the birth control works she won't have kids so sorry about that dad!"
The dad looked like he would explode from happiness when he heard his son had sex, but the mom looked like she would take off her sandal and start beating him.
She grabbed him by the ear, and John took Avery by the waist and they started walking back to the car while his mom warned him about STD's, and using protection.
Avery blushed but didn't say anything and John said "it's better raw!"
His mom slapped him and grabbed his ear even harder.
When they got in the car, he told the driver to go to Averys house.
When they got to Averys house, her parents were outside. The dad looked shocked that his little girl had a boy holding her waist while the mom had a "I told you so" look on her face. It seemed the mom guessed that she probably got a boyfriend, and the dad didn't believe it.
He stared daggers at John and then he saw the kids parents walking up to them.
"Is that your daughter?"
"Yes, is that your son?"
"Yup! My son has your daughter as a girlfriend! Hahahahaha!" Johns dad laughed and Maddi slapped him.
The parents talked, and didn't notice John close the door.
Soon, moans and loud shouts were in the car, but luckily the entire car was soundproof, and the driver also thought they just closed the door.
10 minutes later, the moans stopped, and the were giggling.
When the parents stopped talking they walked up to the door to tell them what they were going to do and were surprised by the heavy perfume.
Avery was on Johns lap, and they looked at their parents with innocent gazes.
"We're going to have dinner tonight, you two can go back to the house"
They smiled, and told the driver to go back to the house.
