Chapter 1: An Ordinary Day
Only two weeks and the students will be saying a "see you soon" to their beloved summer vacation. Lina has just transferred to another city, and this time her family decided to settle in Tokyo for a while. Since she doesn't have a clue about her new surroundings, for now, she decides to go on a walk and take a look around.
"Man, only two weeks and the vacation will be over", Says the girl before adding a sigh to the scene. She stands up after putting on her shoes, "Mom, I'm heading off!", Adds the girl after opening the door of the mansion.
"Don't be late for dinner honey!", Replies her mother Elza while following her daughter with those worried eyes.
"This mall isn't that far from here ha?", That's what Lina was thinking about while checking the map on her phone, "It wouldn't do any harm to go and check it out, right?"
Even though she looked a bit lonely, Lina doesn't seem to be bothered by that fact at all. She keeps walking on her own while enjoying that gum until she reaches the mall which appears to catch her interest. "I guess I'll be shopping for now", was written on her face after she took out a credit card.
She does end up buying quite the load, she doesn't even realize that it started getting dark and Elza asked her not to be late. This clumsy girl can't stop making her mother worry after all. All of those bags appear to be taking the hell out of her, she can't even make 10 steps continuously without taking a break. And then, something adorable joins the show, as our cat girl finds herself facing a cute orange lovely cat that came out of a bush and he breaks the silence with an angelic "meow" while looking at Lina innocently.
"Oh, look at you, you cutie kitty", She says warmly while opening her arms and facing the kitten, "Come here!"
Unfortunately for her, the cat decides to take the opposite direction. That did upset Lina for sure, she leaves those bags aside and decides to chase that adorable creature.
"I'm not leaving you on your own until I take my hug, okay?" And she keeps chasing that poor thing all around the mall like a weirdo. With her clumsiness joining the show, she somehow finds herself hurting her ankle and about to fall while facing the stairs, and all of that's happening just because of her overeating after seeing an ordinary cat.
"Crap", Says the girl while being in mid-air for the time being. She keeps closing her eyes and hoping that this fall wouldn't hurt that much. "Why is it taking so long to fall? And why does it feel like someone's grabbing me?", Those thoughts keep haunting her mind and she doesn't even dare to open her eyes, she's too afraid to do so. However, in the heat of the moment, she finds herself forced to open her eyes, that's after hearing that voice.
"Are you alright?", He says while he keeps holding onto her.
Buzz, weird energy circulates all over her body that did give her that unexpected cold yet enjoyable chill on her skin. "The way he said those words…", she adds to her thoughts for now, "His voice is, it's so deep!" As she slowly starts taking off those perfectly stretched eyelids and shows quite the astonishing big silver eyes, she finds herself facing an even more astonishing dude at about her age. 5'9 height, skin that's more clean and charming than hers, a diamond-shaped head, and green hazel pearls are his eyes and it feels like the world's problems are residing in there once you gaze admiringly into his eyes just like Lina did. And then there are those lips that avoid giving a smile to her lovely presence. As for his pitch-black hair, it is a bit long and that unique wavy haircut can't help but cast a spell at the viewers and charm them for eternity! With all those mixed together and creating this dude, the one and only thing that got into Lina is that voice, "What a deep voice", She keeps saying internally "What is it that I am feeling, it's just a stranger's voice! Why is it hitting on me this hard?"
Finally, getting back to her senses, and realizing that she's in quite an embarrassing situation. She raises her tiny hand and starts tweaking his cheek real hard while getting all red gradually.
"Get your hand off me you freak", She says after realizing that he's holding her from her chest," What a maniac, perv!"
"Here.", Says the boy after dropping her on the floor, "I didn't feel like I was holding a sensitive part, it just felt a bit flat I guess?", He adds after putting his hand under his jaw and leaning his head a little to the right.
"WHAT ??????", Exclaims Lina right after covering her chest with both of her arms, "Don't you think that you're body-shaming me?", And she starts gaining an even brighter red skin, the girl is about to burst.
What bugged her even more, is the fact that the boy said such things while keeping the same expression on his face. It did feel like he was making fun of her. "Whatever", she starts trying to forget about it. He lends her his hand to help her stand up for now, but she acts like she doesn't even know he's existing and tries to do it on her own. She stands up and tries to take a step, but her ankle's hurting her too much, it's so painful she can't even put her leg on the floor. She was about to fall again, luckily he was still standing there so he takes her by her shoulder and prevents that action.
"Let me take you to the mall's infirmary, okay?", Adds the boy while trying to help her stand properly.
"Stop touching me", She says," I don't need any help from such a maniac you know."
"But you can't even…."
"I said get lost", She didn't even let him finish off his line.
This time, he holds her shoulder a bit tightly, tries to match his footsteps to hers then says.
"If you don't let me do so I'll be sending you to where you were about to head off before I picked you up."
"To the lowest floor?", She says after starting to feel a bit worried.
"Hell"
"Alrighty, this dude is something," She starts thinking, "I think it's better to let him help me for now."
They get to the nurse and she helps Lina put some bandages on that ankle. She gives her a medical stick and starts writing down some medicines for her.
"Oh wait a minute", Yells Lina, "My bags, I LEFT MY SHOPPING BAGS ALL ALONE AND STARTED CHASING THAT CAT!"
The nurse and that boy keep looking at her intensely without daring to break the silence.
"Did you break your ankle because you were chasing a cat?", Says the nurse in a warm and lovely voice.
Lina's cheeks gained a tiny red color, showing that she was starting to feel embarrassed and giving the nurse a "yes" to her question. Then there's this boy who didn't hesitate to humiliate her again.
"I don't know if you're incredibly clumsy, or just stupid."
"Are you for real???", Says Lina while wanting to get off the chair and punch the hell out of him.
The nurse barges between those two and tries to cool off the atmosphere, "Why don't you help your friend and go look for her sacks young man?"
"I'm not her friend", he says.
"Her boyfriend then?", That nurse can't help but keep chasing after the bond between those two.
"That's even worse", Replies Lina after making a shocked expression," Anyways, I do need your help, to be honest, I can't go get those bags on my own after all!"
"You can buy something as a thanking if you want", Adds Lina after showing off the credit card.
He keeps looking at the card for a while then leaves without spelling a word out and starts looking at her things. The way he acted was a bit rude though, she just wanted to get him something as an apology that's all, so that did make our Lina a little annoyed as well.
"Those sacks are all alone", He says after finding the bags," Those must be hers then, "He takes them and starts getting back to the infirmary, "So a girl falls down the stairs at me while she was chasing a cat, calls me a pervert, a maniac, asks me to get her things for her and appears to be super rich since she has her own credit card. This could be such a drag."
"Are those yours?", He says after getting inside and showing Lina the bags.
"Yes, those are my bags", replies the girl, "Sorry for making you bring them."
"No biggie", Adds the boy who was about to leave before being called by the nurse.
"Hold on pretty boy", She says, "You don't think that you'll be leaving without helping your friend out don't you?"
"I told you she's not my friend, "He replies after closing the door and facing both of them.
"You look pretty close to me, to be honest."
"It's not a big deal", Says Lina after trying to stand up, "I think I can manage to get back on my own. You can leave.
She stands up and tries to use that stick and walk, "it's harder than what it looks like", thinks Lina while trying to figure out a way to move properly. She can't even walk properly without leaning on the stick and the wall, so how is she going to take those bags with her as well? Both of the ladies keep looking at our boy for a while. So, without even changing that emotionless face, he takes the bags again.
"This is such a drag", He says after opening the door for Lina, "I'll walk you home, is that okay?"
"It's not like I've got a choice", Adds our girl.
Both of them keep walking with Lina taking the lead since he doesn't know how to get to her house for sure. But it appears that her ankle is still screaming in pain, and it's really hard for her to walk even though she's leaning on the medical stick and the wall. The boy stops in front of her and takes a deep look at her ankle. Then, without saying a word, he takes off that medical stick, leaving Lina speechless by that action, then he turns while leaning down a little and holding the stick with both of his arms.
"Hop on", he says.
"Wh… What?", Adds Lina while still trying to read the situation.
"I'll take you home, you can stay on my back," he replies," you'll be sitting on the stick so don't worry about me touching a sensitive part this time."
"No, no no there's no need thank you very….."
"If we keep on walking like this you'll reach your house tomorrow", he interrupts her line, "And your family might be getting worried about you. So get on already."
Why did her cheeks light up like that, is she thankful, embarrassed, or stunned by the way he is acting? She gets on his back. Now he's holding her and her bags but at least they'll be reaching her house quicker this way. Lina does get close to his body, she notices that he's wearing such an interesting smell. But still, this isn't the thing that caught her interest the most.
"Why am I still thinking about his voice?", She starts thinking," He puts the fact that he touched my chest accidentally into consideration. Without mentioning that he's helping a girl that he just met to such a level. Maybe, he's not the maniac that I thought he is."
"I'm not that heavy, right ?", Says Lina with quite a warm tune this time.
"You're as heave as a pregnant cow if you ask me", Answers the boy without even giving it a second thought.
"Okay I take it back, this freak is the most annoying dude I've ever met in my entire life", She keeps screaming internally while trying to hold on to her anger as much as possible.
"I don't think that we got the chance to introduce ourselves, right? My name is Lina, pleased to meet you!"
"I'm Romeo, nice to meet you too!"
"Romeo, I'm sorry for bothering you with all this mess", Says Lina, "I'll treat you for dinner as an apology, is it okay?"
Thank you for the invitation," Adds Romeo after stopping and waiting for the green light to come by," But I'll be forced to respectfully refuse your proposal. I'm afraid that I left mother alone and my phone is out of battery so I can't contact her."
"It's okay no biggie", Adds Lina, "I'll pay you back next time then."
"Lina you said?", questions the boy after returning back to walking," can you please tell me which direction to take after?"
"Oh of course", Says the girl with her voice becoming a little shaky all of a sudden, "You see the second roundabout, right? You reach it then you turn to the right and then you take the second avenue to the left. Our house is the third one on the left side."
"Lina, I think you're gaining a fever", Says Romeo, "You're body's starting to heat all of a sudden."
"You, think so…", adds the girl with difficulty, "I don't know, I do feel like sleeping through…."
After those words, the girl starts leaning on Romeo even more and she eventually falls asleep on his back.
"Lina, Lina?", whispers Romeo calmly, "She's sleeping, good thing I asked her about the way to her house then!"
So he finishes off the way while she's asleep while carrying her bags as well. Even though it's not remarkable on his body, Romeo has a decent physic which made him lift around 60kg all at once and without taking a break, good thing Lina was a little tiny compared to her age. After around 12 minutes of continuous walking, Romeo reaches the desired destination. He stays actionless for a while, as he keeps looking at the gigantic house, at Lina's house.
"She is wealthy; she has her own credit card after all so it's not really unexpected."
"I can't even ring the bell", Says Romeo, "I don't want to wake this thing up by calling her family. This is such a drag."
It didn't take that long for him to get inside, since Elza was waiting in the garden and waiting for her daughter while losing the last drops of patience that she got. The poor lady keeps taking clumsy steps while holding her phone, it appears that she kept attempting to call Lina several times but the girl didn't answer those calls. Elza raises her head to look at the entrance and finds this boy holding her daughter while standing and looking at her.
"Hello…."
"Oh my God, what happened to my Lina?", Asks Elza after hopping to the entrance and opening the door right away," Why is she so late? Did she drink alcohol or something like that?"
She glimpses at Lina's body and finds her leg bandaged which made her creep out even more.
"Did she somehow get in an accident? What's wrong with her leg? For how long has she been sleeping?", She keeps spamming those questions without letting the boy spell a word.
"My name is Romeo, Your daughter; Lina needs to get some rest. Is it okay if I put her on her bed?"
"Oh, o-of course", answers Elza calmly after getting back to her senses," Did I, somehow, ask too many questions that it felt annoying?"
"Yes", He adds without giving it a second thought and makes the woman get embarrassed.
The three of them get inside the house, and it appears that it's quite as charming as its outside looks. Elza leads the way by asking Romeo to take the stairs and head to the first room on the right; she opens the door and lets the gentleman get in first, to find himself inside a spacious room with a double bed, an interesting setup, a PS5, and quite a lovely girlish decoration that becomes even more breath-catching, since Elza switched the blue room LEDS on and made Romeo notice that the sealing is full of cloud-like decoration.
"Yup, she's filthy rich", that's what he was thinking about while scanning the whole room.
Gently, he puts the girl on her bed and puts the bags on the floor after. While he was covering her up, Elza didn't dare to interrupt him even though he was an outsider MALE, it feels like she knew deep inside that this boy wouldn't do any harm to her or her daughter.
"These are the medicines that she needs to take for 3 days", Romeo interrupts the silence after landing Elza a little bag.
"Ah, thank… Thank you very much," Adds Elza after spacing out for a little, "It's getting dark isn't it, why don't you stay here for the night and then get back home tomorrow", Whispers the woman calmly while wearing a lovely smile.
"I'm sorry", answers Romeo without changing his expression," but I left mother on her own and I told her that I won't be late, so she must be worried by now."
"No I do want you to stay over", Adds Elza persistently", Think about it as payback, for taking care of My Lina!"
"Just like her daughter", that's what our boy wanted to say.
"Can I borrow your cellphone to call mother?", Ask the boy politely, "I'm afraid mine is out of battery."
"Well of course, here you go", And she gives him her phone.
He makes a little sigh then gets outside and makes a call. He called one of his neighbors, Ms. Winston, and asked her to tell his mother that he was going to sleep over at one of his pal's houses and he'll be back tomorrow morning. He asked her to take care of his mother while he's absent as well, it felt like he's the one who's playing the role of a parent, to be so considerate of his mother. She didn't mean to overhear his conversation, but when she did so, Elza wondered why he didn't call his mother directly instead of calling his neighbor. After that, he gets back inside the room, gives Elza her phone back then whispers to avoid waking up Lina, that's what he wanted though.
"Can I get a change of clothes then..."
A pillow was thrown on his face. Both of them turn around, while Elza being shocked, and they find Lina awake while gaining quite the blushing steamy face. She gets another pillow and throws it at him, then she keeps spamming objects non-stop until he starts taking some steps back and gettin closer to the door.
"OUT OF MY ROOM YOU PERV!!!!", screams the girl while feeling embarrassed.
"Lina!", Says Elza after getting close to her daughter, "That's not how you're supposed to treat Romeo you know", and she starts lecturing her.
Actually, Lina wasn't really interested in her mother's speech, some thoughts keep hosting her mind, and she can't think straight for a while.
"Did he actually put me on my bed ??? He was inside my room while I was sleeping what the hell???? Is this for real I hope I'm dreaming... Wait a sec, Why am I getting mad at him", she keeps thinking, "And why the hell am I still thinking about his freaking voice????????"
