Chris stood in front of Aiyana the distant sound of the tap filling the bath echoed along the walls of their bedroom. Something had changed today. They both knew it. They felt the shift again.

She stood right there; her lips parted as uneven breath curled out of her lips. Looking at him as if for the first time.

“You came to the side of the bed

And sat staring at me.

Then you kissed me—I felt

Hot wax on my forehead.”

She moved closer to Chris, as she recited the poem in his ear, her lips brushing against his pinna, her tongue dancing along his skin. Her voice was soft, almost like a moan. His tempting seductress was alive tonight; the spark between their bodies had shifted. Their skin was on fire but for the first time, despite everything there was more to them. Like she had fallen in love with him all over again.

Harder this time. Like leaving would no longer be an option for her anymore. Not that there was any chance of it before.
