Chapter 36: No Hope
After the shooting, the unconscious bodies' of the assassins were taken away by Su Kai's people for interrogation.
These people would probably have wished that they had died that day instead of being taken. They didn't know the horrors that would await them later on that night. For if they actually understood the significance of Su Kai's status then they would never have had the guts to take this suicidal job.
The underworld knew him as the Master of Death, as he had no qualms about killing. He dealt with people ruthlessly and decisively. There were many people who have tried to kill him over the years but they were all dead now and whatever business they once had were swallowed up by the Su Industries.
He is quite skilled in both martial arts and any weapon known to man. He can also wield any object and make that into a killing machine.
When the sniper shot at him, he was ready to dodge but realized that Liu Wei moved quicker than him. In order to better understand this woman he pretended to be weak. Now, he was more surprised by her prowess, character and background.
He could now tell that there was more to her than meets the eye. Besides her high IQ and great business acumen she also knew Kung Fu. Instead of getting upset over this revelation he decided to wait for the day that she would open up to him. He had time and patience to wait for his beloved... besides he had secrets of his own and was not ready to divulge any of them yet. He had a lot of skeletons in his closet that would make any girl turn around and run in a split second.
He wasn't proud of some of the ruthless things he has done in order to survive, but he did them nonetheless because it was either he died or his enemies. One has to have thick skin in order to live in this power hungry world.
"Are you alright? You're quite skilled in handling fire arms" Su Kai said with a gentle smile on his face.
He took off his jacket and placed them around Liu Wei.
"Are you not turned off that you know this about me?" she said.
"Why would I be? You just saved my life and everyone else here. I am thankful to you and lucky to have you as my woman..." He said earnestly to her.
"Oh... well that was such a sweet thing to say... I actually don't know how I did any of that. It was instinctual... like I've done it thousands of times before. I don't know if that makes any sense... " she said with a little bit of confusion written on her face.
Perhaps she has a special background that she doesn't even know about. He must delve a bit deeper into her past.
"I need to take care of something, will you be okay if I leave?" she says reluctant to part from him after the assassination attempt.
"I will be just fine, I have my bodyguards here to guard me. Do you need my help with anything?"
He didn't want her to leave but he couldn't keep her and he didn't want to be that kind of person who was too clingy. He understood that she was an independent woman and needed to give her that space and believe in her. So he unwillingly let her go.
Liu Wei already proved to him that she was great at fighting, there was nothing he should be worried about when it came to her safety.
"Come to me as soon as you are done with your errand..." he said with pleading eyes.
She chuckled at his cuteness "yes, I will see you tonight"
"Wait!! she killed people she shouldn't be able to leave. She needs to go to jail~!" Tang Ning yelled out.
She disliked this woman to the bone. Liu Wei was not only beautiful but she is also great at martial arts!! she is a thorn in her life. A woman should not be that outstanding!!! Jealousy was clouding Tang Ning's judgment and she disregarded that without Liu Wei securing their safety, the situation would have been more deadly. Instead of being grateful she was being completely rude.
Even the bodyguards were looking at her with disdain. How could anyone be so selfish especially in a situation like this?
Mr. and Mrs. Tang was slightly embarrassed by their daughters outbreak. Liu Wei saved all of them which means she was their savior. This was not how you treated your savior. Even Grandfather Su wrinkled his brows after hearing her speak, and was disappointed in Tang Ning.
Liu Wei turned to look at Tang Ning and gave her that megawatt smile that would bring any man to their knees. Without responding she turned and bowed to Grandfather Su, "I'm sorry to have to leave so urgently but I will visit you another day to pay my respects."
"It's alright my dear... you should go and do your business. We will meet another day" he said tenderly. He already had a good impression of her by her actions today. She must love his grandson very much to have saved him from that sniper. Whoever cared for his grandson enough to the point where they risked their own life was a great person in his book.
She didn't even bother saying anything to the Tangs, she turned and gave Su Kai a big hug and kissed him in front of everyone. There were shocked sounds coming from the room but she didn't care and Su Kai did not stop her.
Tang Ning was livid her fists were balled tightly together. What a slut!! so indecent she has no class!!
After that public display of affection Liu Wei successfully sashayed her way out of the restaurant.
Su Kai turned to the Tangs "As you can see that woman is my future, she will be my wife. Do not mess with her or I will disregard our friendship. You do not want me as your enemy."
Mr. and Mrs. Tang knew that all hope was gone and nodded their head in agreement.
"Su Kai!!! I love You, why can't it be me? I've been grooming myself to be your wife all these years!" Tang Ning pleaded, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I only see you as a little sister... I've already explained this to you many times. Since you do not understand I will no longer see you alone. I don't want my woman to misunderstand."
Tang Ning's face was ashen after being rejected...
"Grandfather, I will take you home now." Grandfather Su, felt bad for Tang Ning but there was nothing he could do.
