Chapter 24: The Date (Part 4)

Mika came off the Ferris wheel being red as she would always be around Noah. "I'm sure you won't be creating a fuss anymore", he smirked.

"I- I won't", Mika replied.

They were walking down the street with all the food stalls and games when Mika saw something she couldn't take her eyes off.

It was a black cat stuff toy hanging in one of the shooting games.

"That cat is so cute!!!", she stopped Noah by his sleeve.

He glanced at the store and was well aware of why that was out there. "Oh, that? I think we need to win the shooting game for that", he said.

"I'll win it!", Mika got fired up. Her eyes were set on the little black cat.

"Alright young lady. Shoot the red spot three times and you will get the toy you want", the shopkeeper said as he put just five bullets in the tray.

"ALRIGHT!", Mika said as she paid without even thinking about it. Before she knew the bullets were over and she couldn't fire even one at the right target.

"One more time!", she got a little pissed off.

She was able to hit once but the circle was too small to fit three shots.

"Better luck next time little girl", the man inside smirked.

Mika looked down. It was a bummer that she couldn't win the cat after finally finding something like that.

"I would like to give it a try", Noah stepped forward as he smashed the money in front of the shopkeeper, making sure he understands that he shouldn't be messed with.

Mika's eyes were set on him as he made a move.

BAM! Without missing one shot the game was over in the first three turns.

It was quite surprising to the eyes that how smoothly he did that.

"Here you go", Noah smiled as he handed Mika the stuffy, almost the size of the upper body.

Mika smashed her face on it peeked a little to look Noah in the eyes. "Thank you", she blushed.

"You're very welcome", Noah patted her head with utmost comfort.

The day went by before they knew. A lot of rides, a lot of treats, and a lot of tantrums, but they couldn't help being the happiest that day.

When they started heading back home in Noah's car, Mika initiated a conversation.

"You know, contrary to what I normally do, I was looking forward to this day", she whispered.

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. I never thought that anything in my life would go this smoothly. It's always been a rollercoaster for me"

"I can understand that", Noah talked as gently as possible. "but I think that life is playing its card at every stage. Do you have any regrets up to this day in your life?"

"No"

"So in the end, the universe was always on your side. That rollercoaster took you from all the bitter phases in the most enjoyable way as possible"

Mika's eyes lit up. It was as if, these words were going right to her heart. He said something so simple yet it made her heart lighter than it had ever been.

"Afterall you love riding the rollercoaster right?", Noah winked.

"Yes!", Mika giggled. Yes, it's that simple. We blame life for the situations that are around us but never see that it's those situations that make us stronger and make us cherish our smile more than anything. Even in all of this, life takes us through it by giving us the least damage possible. It's up to us. When the storm comes, do we learn to dance in the rain or shed our tears to make it heavier? She leaned back feeling light as a feather, being thankful for the day to come.

Noah looked at her as she was just glancing outside the window, watching the other cars pass by in the nightlight. To add her personal touch, she was holing that back cat stuffy with her. It was enough to cover her whole body but she was too serious about not letting it get separated from her.

Seeing her like that just makes his heart warm enough. It wasn't long ago when he used to look at the world as a black and white setting. But little by little with her innocence and mischievous, her heart and the world around him was colourful than it was ever before. Obviously being the person who doesn't indulge in small talks, he wasn't going to say it out loud just now. But the experience he has been having in the past month is something that was not in his imagination.

"Magic huh?", he whispered as he smiled lightly.

"What?", Mika looked at him.

"Just thinking how much of a brat you are", he chuckled.

"I'm not a brat!", Mika pouted.

"Yes yes", he chuckled. But there was a smile behind that laugh enough to make him realize that he was capable of being this happy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Light breathing was brushing through Mika's face. She could feel someone's warmth close to her body as she was waking up. She gently opened up her eyes finding out someone very special sleeping on her side.

"I'm surprised you don't drink coffee", Nate took a sip from his cup.

"It's not like that. I don't mind having it, but I'm not that much of a fan", Grace poured tea in her cup.

"Wow you have good hands in making tea", Nate raised his eyebrows as he took another sip.

"I can't say that. But I do like tea. It suits me more", Grace sat on Nate's side placing the tea on their little kotatsu table.

"I really like it how you have a kotatsu. Anime fan?", Nate leaned back in comfort.

"More or less", Grace titled her head. "We decided it together. Since Mika has a habit of jumping on me now and then, it was safer", she chuckled nervously.

"I can totally imagine that", Nate laughed. "Oh I wanted to tell you, there's a music fest in the city. Do you think we should perform there?", he showed her the advertisement on his phone screen.

"Hmm, yeah it sounds fun", she smiled. "It would be a good place to perform together for the first time"

"I thought so too", Nate grinned.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", Mika's scream took over the unusual peace from this morning.

It was enough to make Nate choke on his tea, to make Grace jump off her seat.

They both got up and rushed to Mika's room. Although they already knew what happened.

When they entered the room, Mika was standing on the other side of the corner with her often seen beet-red face, trembling all over. On the other hand, Noah was rubbing his eyes, sitting casually on the bed.

"What happened?", he murmured while yawning.

"Dude you're being a little too normal right now", Nate said with a sarcastic mouth.

"YOU!", Mika snapped. "YOU WERE WITH ME! ON MY BED!", she came a little closer to him.

"Calm down babe. I was the one to suggest that", Grace patted her back.

"What!?"

"Yeah, you were sleeping on him when we came. We tried taking you to your room but you won't let him go no matter what. So I suggested him to just sleep with you", she explained.

"Oh...", Mika's tone kept on getting down.

"The pot calling a kettle black", Nate smirked.

"YOU!!!!", Mika jumped on his with her long nails on the hunt. She was determined to scratch the hell out of him.

She was trying her best but Nate somehow kept saving himself.

"Mika, don't!", Grace tried failed to stop them as expected.

"Now now", Noah stepped up. He held Mika's arm and pulled her close to him. "Did you hate it?", he whispered in her ear.

"N- no", she flinched.

"Then everything is alright", he smiled.

Mika did nothing but look down and blush as Noah held her close to his chest and patted her head.

"Keep it censored kids", Nate went off with his sarcastic mouth.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

"I'm gonna kill you!", Mika ran towards Nate who ran out of the room before she could catch him.

"There they go", Grace sighed. "I wonder if my life would have one peaceful morning".

"Isn't it better like this?", Noah smiled as he looked at them messing around in the living room.

"You're right" she chuckled. "I got some Dandelion tea ready. Would you like some?"

"Sure", he left the room with her.

"Hmm", Grace looked at her laptop screen carefully. "We might have to extend our practice time if we really want to perform at this festival"

"Well, I can't deny since there are SOME PEOPLE who don't have from their stupid fights", Noah looked at Mika fighting like cat and dog on the floor.

"I DON'T DO THAT!", they sang together.

"Yeah yeah. Prez would you increase the practice timing?", Grace said as she was typing on her laptop.

"Alright", he said from the side. Suddenly Grace's phone buzzed with a message from an unknown number.

Little did she know it wouldn't be just a random text.
