Chapter 1: Here Comes Trouble!
Fvck! I'm late again. Daddy is sure going to be angry. This is the third time this week but in my defense, it wasn't my fault.
I was just really engrossed in my research. It's not a sin to love something with all your being, right? No? Just what I was thinking.
Oh! Sorry for my poor manners, I'm Everlette Jade Han. Well, that's all you need to know for now.
I really do like talking to myself. I don't know why, but it beats talking to actual people. Especially girls of my age, ugh!
They can't seem to talk about anything proper either than their make up, clothes, the newest hot gossip and not forgetting the worst of all BOYS. GRRR! I just can't seem to...

"Help!!"
Someone's in trouble. It's nine o'clock at night. But these parts have never been scary nor dangerous.
I've been passing here for as long as I can remember but I have never encountered anything apart from animals.
This area has nothing but acres of trees and wildlife.
I follow the direction in which the sound is coming from to see someone running in between the trees, tripping and staggering in the process. I look farther to see what the person is running from.
Even though there are no streetlights around here, the moon is shining brightly. Plus, I have very good eyesight. I see the ugliest creatures I've ever set my eyes on, ever.
They stand tall like humans but look like bats. Their skin is pale slimy green, huge red eyes, big mouth with hacksaw teeth and wings for hands which allowed them to fly, somewhat.
I turned to see the person who is running, it's a man with a backpack on his back. I wish I could turn away, but I know better. There are like five of those creatures and only him. He also looks very weak.
Against my better judgement I unsheath my silver dagger from my strap from my knee high boots and charge.
If there's one thing I know, nothing survives a stab through the heart, especially by a silver dagger laced with poison.
I fling through the tree tops silently without notice. I don't train every single day for no reason. I get behind the creatures and gets ready for the kill.
Ones wingy hands get stuck in a tree branch and I take the opportunity to stab him from the back into its heart.
It turned into ash. Holy Molly! I don't get time to think much about it as one of its mates turns and sees me. It snarls and charges towards me.
I quickly throw my dagger and kills two birds with one stone. It pierces through the one who charged and another one behind then slice into the trunk of a tree. The two creatures turn into ash like the first one.
I was so engrossed in the sight before me that I almost got hit by another one of the creatures who I'm naming as Batty 4 but moved away in time.
It was so close I simply turned and swept the dagger through its slimy skin.
"Oh sweet dagger, I'm so sorry. I'll give you a nice refreshing bath when we get home okay?"
A big thump! sound breaks the moment between me and my dagger. I then remember there's still one Batty left.
I come upon the man I saw earlier being pressed against a tree trying to fend off the last of the creatures. With the Batty 5 unaware of my presence, I jump down swiftly and sweeps the dagger through his heart, if it's a he that is.
The man turned out to be just a boy who looks to be in his early twenties, presumably twenty-four.
His mouth opens wide as he looks at me in shock for a full 1 minute. What's wrong with this guy? I'm sure I saw something fly into it.
"Is that all you're going to do after I saved your ass, stare at me?" Unbelievable, this is what I get for being good.
I shake my head and stab the dagger just above his head into the tree he's leaning on.
"Who the fvck are you and what are you doing on my property?" He doesn't flinch from my tone.
"So..so ..so cool" he even coos.
"Seriously?"
"Can you show me a few tricks?"
"Are you fvcking kidding me?"
"A nice girl like you shouldn't cuss like that. And oh thank you for saving my ass."
"Now you're talking sense, and whatever I do with my mouth is none of your business. "
I straighten up and remove my dagger from the tree ready to go when I hear his voice again.
" Is this place the Green Valley?"
"Yeah, but you're way far from town" I answer him without turning or stopping.
"Do you know a place that I could crash for the night?" I heard his footsteps before his voice.
"Yeah, the forest floor and stop following me." I turn and shoot him a massive glare.
He recoils for a moment but still continues to follow me.
"Why are you still following me?" I asked him when I reached the trail leading to my house.
"I'm...." he falls face flat onto the forest floor before he can finish his sentence.
Hey...wake up" I patted his cheeks and moved his eyelids, but nothing.
I even poured the water in my bottle on his face but still nothing. I checked his pulse to see if he was still alive. He was, but his pulse was low, very low.
I wish I could leave him here but I also know that I can't. I may be a bitch but I wasn't cold hearted, far from it.
Ah!! Dad is going to give me a lecture. I already made a mistake by butting into his business and now this!
I removed my backpack, placed it on the ground before lifting him onto my back. Then I took my backpack and wore it on my front.
I flew through the trees and over the metal gate in my home.
I was already dreading my arrival knowing Dad wasn't going to be happy about my just ended night escapade. Here comes trouble!
"Where have you been young lady?"
