Gary almost dropped the receiver when he heard her voice. Thank God he was alone.

“Well first of all, there’s a penalty for going away without a proper goodbye and then I will treat you with a royal reception, Bodley pleasures guaranteed,” he promised.

His voice sent a blush through her face. He was sure of that because she cleared her throat before speaking.

“I have a couple questions to ask you…’

“Shoot.” What was this? Gary’s heart had shot straight up into his throat when he had understood what she asked him after he first picked up the phone. He could hardly believe what was happening.

“Did I seriously run into the locker room after the semifinal match when you were taken down at the touchdown line?”
