Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Tomorrow's Forgotten

Lucius opens his eyes, glancing at the ceiling. Mind hazy as he slowly looked to his right, seeing a bay window and with the curtains open, showing the fog covered light. He was blinking a few times, trying to get the tunnel vision away from his eyes.

Lucius looked to his left, seeing someone who was standing a little way away from him. But someone was sitting in the chair next to him; she had long blonde hair, a white blouse with a dark corset, and a dark red skirt. She was speaking to the other person in the room.

"I don't see why you decide to bring him here. You know we're running low on food as it is, Adaline." the guy said to the blonde woman next to him. His gruff voice chose his words carefully.

"I couldn't just leave him there. It was your choice to knock him out at that cemetery. Wasn't it?" Adaline shot back with some force in her voice. British accents flowed through her voice as she spoke. Sitting like someone who was regal; she was sitting straight up with her hands clasped on her lap. Her face pushed into a pout as the two argued. She kept flipping her hair in frustration, almost ripping out her hair in the process.

Suddenly there was a sharp thumping in Lucius' head, causing him to hiss in pain. That pushed the two arguing to stop to look at him; the blonde woman moved closer to him, causing him to move away from the woman out of fear due to not remembering anything before this.

"You're okay. You don't have to be afraid of us," looking towards the grumpy man beside her. "Well, not me, anyway," she said pointedly at the other man in the room. In response, the man scuffs at her as he rolls his eyes.

Lucius, still panicking, sits in the corner staring at the two in front of him. Breathing heavily, he asked, "Where am I?" looking around for an escape route.

The blonde woman seemed to sense that in him and said calmly, "It's okay, breath. Okay?" Lucius nods and tries to inhale and exhale, his airways restricting his take-ins, His hands shaking under the panic attack. Feeling hands slip into his hands, he looked up quickly, frightened. He saw the woman staring back at him as she mimics a breathing technique that she knew. Going through the mimic breathing, It became easier to breathe, and Lucius has begun to calm down quickly.

"Where am I?" He said calmly, getting silence in return. He looked at Adaline with absolute despair and general concern all at once. The man standing next to her scoffed and exclaimed, "We saved your sorry ass from the Böse! You should be grateful, you little shit."

Lucius, in question, just stared vacantly at the man in front of him. "Who are you?" and met with silence; "Please tell me something; I don't remember anything but waking up in that graveyard," he said in despair. Adaline seemed to hesitate for a second before looking towards the other man then back to Lucius.

"I'm Adaline, and this is Jason. We have a group of people who have been surviving against the Böse for about a year now; we found you running out of the graveyard, and Jason here, knocked you out. Thinking you would attack us." pointing her finger at Jason with an attitude towards Lucius. Panic starts to set in again as he realized he wouldn't get his answers like how it was wanted, and he glanced down at his hands folded on his lap in worry.

Time passed as they sat there in silence before Jason decided to speak up; "Well, people expected you to wake up an hour ago. Seeing as your ability to go to move around. Might as well bring you to them, " he said as he walks towards the door, "Shall we?" He gestures towards the open door-waiting for Lucius to stand and walk. But he just sat there staring at his hands. Sighing, he walked back over and crouched to where he was eye to with Lucius. Lucius looks up a bit towards Jason, tears in his eye from fear.

"Listen. You won't be able to do anything in life if you sit on your ass and weep like a child that doesn't have control in his life. Take control of the situation and deal with it here and now. Or else you're dead. Got it?!" Jason says with emotion. As if he knew how Lucius felt. Giving advice wasn't Jason's strong suit, and it was visible on his face. But he gave it nonetheless, knowing it is needed.

Lucius seemed to get knocked out if he panics slowly; the more they sat in his brain processing, the more level headed he became. Soon Lucius stood up and started walking behind Jason out the door and into the cathedral. Walking out of the room, the look of the cathedral was ginormous. There were about four pillars on each side of the area.

There were people scattered around the place; some spoke in groups; some sat by themselves. As they walked towards the others, they all looked up from what they were doing to stare at Lucius nervously. Watching him intensely as he walked into the giant room, Lucius looked at everyone warily. He decided to stay behind Adaline and Jason. They spoke quietly among themselves as they watched Lucius.

"It's okay, everyone; he's not a danger to us. If anything, he doesn't remember anything, really," he said, rubbing the back of his head while looking towards Lucius with a confused face. Lucius gave a weak smile and gave a small wave to the group; Their reactions didn't change. They continued to distrust Lucius more than before.

Sighing, he stepped in between Adaline and Jason to walk towards the group in front of him, causing them to step away from him; "Hello, I'm Lucius. I'm sorry for frightening you earlier, but can you help me; all I want to do is get back my memories and help with the Böse. I hope I can take them down before they kill anyone else,"

It made them less distrustful; by not knowing Lucius, they are still standoffish. Nonetheless, they got closer to him, just letting him know their names and told him what was around the cathedral and where to find them. Quickly walked off—trying to get far away from Lucius as soon as possible, due to fear of a new person being in the immediate area.

Sighing again, he turned around and gave a small smile and a shrug at the two behind him; in return, he got one; "At least I tried, right?" Adaline walked up to him and placed her hand on his shoulder and gave him a nod. Suddenly there was a loud bang by the doors. Turning towards where the noise was, a big crowd around what seemed to be two people huddled on the ground. Lucius looked at Adaline and Jason, seeing they started running already, and followed after them towards the people crowding to each other.

One of the two was severely injured; the other seemed only to have a scratch on their arm and leg. Both were bleeding immensely, as the man clenched onto the one, passed out in his arms, putting pressure on the wounds. Jason and Adaline push their way through the crowd and crouched down next to the injured men.

"Osric, What happened out there? I thought it meant to be a quick run for supplies!" Jason exclaimed with a rigid frame to hide his fears towards the unknown. Lucius looked at Jason then at the two injured with worry. He didn't know what to make of this situation.

"The- The Silver Locks!" and with that, Osric passed out with the ladder of the two, lying the other. Lucius didn't know anything about what that meant, but it isn't fair judging everyone's reactions. Asking Adaline, she just looked away and didn't answer him. Looking towards Jason, he looked as if he was going to blow a gasket, shaking. Knowing he won't get the answer at this moment, he just stood back and tried to help where he could.

He helped put Osric into Lucius's bed just moments ago and helped find supplies for the injured one, whose name was Frederick. He then found himself sitting by the window, watching the fog-covered town. Sighing, he gets comfortable and feels his eyes close, falling asleep in his spot watching the fog, thinking about what the Silver Locks could be.
