Chapter 2: School
Healers learn different subjects related to healing, there are many, traditional medicine is one of them, we learn a lot about olden-day methods of healing which would include things like acupuncture and brewing tonics. Our syllabus is a compilation of books and scrolls from ancient times, not much could be salvaged from their electronic devices only the ones that were written.
We also have spell classes. We learn a whole pleura of spells used in healing. The type of injury would also determine the difficulty in casting the required spell. Something like cancer can be dealt with but would require a huge source of magic that could take several months to collect and several more to cast as the spell is really tricky even for the most knowledgeable healers.
As for which would I prefer amongst the variety of subjects it would be herbology. We learn lots on plants, we can use them in brewing tonic or even used in charms. There is also this part of the syllabus that teaches us about poisonous herbs, you could use them to kill members from other classes. It sometimes makes me happy that at least we have this and we might be able to kill all the authoritative figures if we just poison their porridge during a banquet or something.
I don't hate their kind it's just that I don't agree with the system that's in play and that everyone just seems to follow. It's irritating when people just tell you to follow what the majority has to say. They are just too scared to fight back or it may just inconvenience them to speak up. I mean just because some of us don't gain benefit from this system it doesn't mean the rest don't. There are many healers who are bribed from these so-called leaders to keep them quiet and or society obedient, some of these people have the faith of our people in their hands but they would give it away just to earn an extra buck.
It's been years of just blindly following and nothing to do with standing up for ourselves. The more we follow the easier it is for them to control us, as one would say, if the people are silent then it is all the more easier for the dictators to spread their influence but you know what that's just what goes through my head so...

Alek and Racquel. They are both my anchors in school. They are both really good healers and could even join the army as we speak.
They have amazing control of their magic, they also have lots of knowledge of non-magic-based healing remedies.
Alek always tops the class but somehow always loses to Racquel when it comes to traditional medicine and herbology. She always aces those 2 subjects. These two pretty much butt heads whenever exam season rolls by, I mean more than the usually bickering I mean.
I kinda think these two have a thing for each other but they never admit it. They always say the ones that fight the most would always end up together so only time can tell.
When it comes to Racquel's mastery of those 2 subjects it wouldn't be a surprise if you got to know her family's background. Her parents own a store that sells all these non-magic ingredients and books. This is on top of her father being a highly ranked officer in the military. That is why she always had an eye for it since she was young.

Our every day after class extra-curricular activity would be going to the warrior training grounds and watch a bunch of idiots beat each other up.
Seeing them struggle as they throw punches at each other makes up a slight bit for the torment my kind had to go through for years under their tyrannic kind.
For Racquel, this would be her time to fan-girl over Jake a blond-haired top-notch warrior that is said to be the top of their class. To me, he is a top-notch douche but watching him beat up the other idiots up is too much fun to miss out on.

"OMG he's here, he's here, how much hotter can he look, I mean just look at those biceps ahhhh." Racquel shrieks as he sees Jake walk into the greek designed arena.
"He is just a sad sack of muscles, I don't know what you see in him, it would be more productive if you go after someone with both brains and brawns," Alek remarks towards her loud display of affection.
"Can both of you just stop, we're gonna get caught." Orchid nudges the both of them
" I just can't... He is not just hot but I heard that he is at the top of his class in everything, like how in the world is he just so perfect. " Racquel says once again
"He is still one of them, have some dignity will you." Orchid complains
"I mean I wouldn't mind if he ruled the hierarchy or me." Racquel replies
"CAN YOU JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP" Alek shouts back
"OK, calm down I was just making a joke, don't get your panties in a wad," Racquel whispers now scared they might actually get caught.

Jake is eye candy for all the girls in our school. I guess there is no discrimination when it comes to this. He is sought after amongst every girl from any of the four divisions even townfolk knows about him.
I personally have never conversed with him but as long as you're associated with their people you might as well have been born with a terrible personality. The only other class that would make them look somewhat decent are the Summoners. Summoners don't hide their superiority rather they flaunt it especially to us healers, makes me wanna stick a poison oak up their arses.
