Chapter 2: Stars' Descent

The blazing star leaving behind several trails of light appeared out of nowhere and started steering in the direction of a massive planet. It was an enormous planet with a hundred lesser planets around it and ten different-colored stars orbiting around it, each of the stars varying in height yet positioned just right to cancel out its pulling force with other stars. Like that, the planet always remained in the center, surrounded by these ten stars, never pulled towards any of them more than to the others.

The trail was actually a six-colored one, but one of the trails was rainbow-colored, and when the energy dissipated, it seemed as if there were ten separate colors of the rainbow instead of one. All in all, the sight was a shockingly beautiful thing to witness. It was a shame that far too little witnesses of this event existed. The multicolored shooting star sped up under the planet's pull of gravity, that is - the curvature of the space around it, and slammed into its surface. The strange thing was that there was no physical impact, as if the falling star itself wasn't a physical existence but rather pure energy.

At the place where the star fell, all vegetation in its surroundings suddenly started growing rapidly at the speed visible to the naked eye. Luckily, there were no living beings in the vicinity of this place to see that. By some strange influence, or perhaps by pure coincidence, the shooting star slammed into a black-colored cliff and opened up a hole with a diameter about a meter wide. It continued further inside the wall about 10 more meters and then came to a stop. When it completely stopped, the energy of the star flared up and disintegrated everything above it in a radius of four meters, only leaving a perfectly flat floor and a perfectly half-spherical cave above it.

After several seconds, the colorful energy condensed into two figures - one male, one female, and then merged with them. After all of that took place, the place regained its calmness. Only now, there were two children that seemed around six years old and a meter high, lying fully naked next to each other with closed eyes and peacefully sleeping. The girl had a pure white hair that was scattered on the floor, but it was far longer than what a girl her age should have. The boy had a hair of similar length like a girl, but his hair was pure black. Both of them had long eyelashes and pretty facial contours. Frankly said, they didn't look like six-years-old children but rather like grown-up beings that were just height-challenged.

Both, the girl and the boy, opened their eyes at the same time and looked straight at the other one, without a care about their surroundings or anything else. The girl's purple eyes looked beautiful and had a magical feeling to them, while the boy's green eyes gave off a feeling of power and kindness, full of care, as if the girl was the most important thing to him.

Subconsciously, they held hands and hugged, feeling each other's warmth like newborn babies, only that they were far more grown-up than babies. Truth be told, it was rather cold inside the cave, even more so that their bare bodies were directly on the cold floor.

The faint light that was lingering in the room from the star's radiance finally died out and the cave became dimmer several times, only illuminated by a little light that was able to pass through the opening in the wall. What made the boy surprised was the fact that he still saw everything clearly, as if darkness meant nothing to his eyes anymore. Even though there was almost no light, he was still able to make out the color and appearance of every part of the girl's face. Saying that she's cute and dangerously beautiful would be more than justified. He didn't know how he looked but considering her rosy cheeks and look of amazement; he assumed that he was at least not ugly in this life, a thing to be joyous about.

Slowly, the two straightened up, still holding each other's hand, and turned towards each other. They hugged tightly like brother and sister that haven't seen each other in a lifetime and only separated after a long time. Neither of them knew why, though. Something deep within their hearts made them feel that way.

Suddenly, a faint yet stunningly beautiful voice came out of the girl's small mouth. It was so mesmerizing that the boy thought she was playing the melody of that voice with his heartstrings;

"Hmmm... my name in this life is Xia."

The boy had a blank look in his eyes for a while until he recollected himself and tilted his head as if rummaging through his memories for something.

"Mine's Asura, it seems.", he said after a while.

It was now his turn to be surprised. The girl showed the same reaction like him previously and turned her head to the side as her white cheeks became slightly reddish. Not wanting to let this awkward atmosphere linger around, Asura took the initiative and spoke.

Asura: "Can you explain what just happened?"

The girl breathed out a cute sigh and shyly nodded. Her angelic voice once again appeared.

Xia: "I only know that we came to the world completely different from the one familiar to you. This world is made of thing called Spirit Energy... I suppose you can already guess what kind of world it is."

Asura took a short while to accept the reality of the situation and then hurriedly asked with a voice full of anticipation: "I-is this like those worlds in novels? Where you can cultivate and those things?"

Xia nodded her head twice with an audible "Mm, mm!", signaling her confirmation and suddenly came closer to him, causing Asura to be surprised. Then, what followed is her head leaning on his body as her arms coiled around him and pushed him even closer towards her.

Xia: "I... I don't know why, but I feel very close to you. I want to hold you close like this all the time… Is this how brother and sister should be?"

Asura scratched his face a little and awkwardly said: "I don't think so... That should be how lovers act, not that I have any experience with that."

Xia slightly twitched when he said that and then hugged him even tighter, leaning her head against his heart. The ticklish sensation of her hair on his bare chest made Asura excited, but luckily his body was far too young to have a corresponding physical reaction to that.

Xia slowly let go of him and looked him in the eyes, her own eyes full of anticipation and excitement that were masked with unease and timidness: "T-then, would you mind... being my lover?"

*BOOM!*

Asura's eyes suddenly lost their clarity as he felt an explosion resound in his head. His mind went blank and he felt the time slow down. Even the beating of his heart became slower and louder, as if it wanted to pierce through his chest.

He regained the control of his body after a while and looked at Xia's nervous eyes glued to his, waiting for his answer. As soon as he was able to speak from the sudden shock, he said in a slightly serious voice, as much as it could sound serious considering he was still a kid: "Are you sure? You may find someone else later on in life, after all we just came here."

Xia gently shook her head and said with a firm gaze: "No, I'm sure I want to be with you forever, even if I have to go against the world."

Asura suddenly felt that Xia was manlier than him at this moment, but he was delighted. His entire life he'd dreamed about a situation like this, so it turned out that after he died, it actually happened. Another thing to rejoice about!

By the time he sorted out his feelings, his eyes were calm and caring again. He leaned towards Xia, kissed her on the forehead and then hugged her. It so turned out that her ear was near him while they were hugging each other, so he grasped this chance and whispered into her ear: "I feel the same way."

The young girl's worries disappeared and a feeling of elation spread through her entire body. The first thing she had to face when just arriving in the new world was so stressful, how could she not feel nervous? Right now, she felt as light as a feather as her heart rapidly thumped. The warmth coming from Asura was all she needed in this moment. She completely relaxed and nested in his embrace, enjoying this feeling with her entire being.

However, it was not only her that felt excited and relieved.

Asura felt something warm on his cheeks. He didn't need to check to know what it was. What else if not tears of happiness? Even he had no idea that he was still able to shed tears. What a surprise.

The two remained that way for a while, disregarding even the time and place. The only thing they cared about was each other's presence. It took a long time for them to separate once again and take a look toward the hole in the cliff - the entrance into this cave for others, and the entrance to the new world for them.
