Chapter 27: Chapter 26

It has been too long since I flew through the sky like this. I have missed the feeling of the wind in my air and the thrill of racing Bozzair. Not to mention the view of the school is breathtaking. The way it floats above the sea with the sunlight hitting the island just right is a picture-perfect view. It is undoubtedly better than the cover of the game, which was a picture of Marshall protecting Ellis from me.

Bozzair and I circle the school, occasional daring each other to see who can fly lowest of the ground. It was an unfair contest, considering how much larger I am than Bozzair. That and the one round I would have run, I was forced to pull up because one of the students suddenly appeared in front of me. I didn't hit them, but now it is getting embarrassing as everyone in the school is pointing and watching me fly. I really shouldn't have worn a skirt today. I have to keep a hand holding it down to stop myself from accidentally flashing the school.

Ultimately, I land in a spot with few people around, unable to deal with the attention any longer. Bozzair is still flying around, catching treats in his mouth that people throw into the air for him. He seems to be having fun, so I leave him to it and try to slip past the crowd while he has them distracted, but….

"Sister," Noah calls out to me, approaching with Marshall and Zeno.

"You really know how to draw attention," Zeno chuckles as people turn to stare at me again. "I think people will be talking about this for a long time."

"Sister flight magic is very rare, and no human has performed it in nearly three hundred years," Noah tells me, looking worried.

"You need to be more careful," Marshall says. "People will do anything to get people with your level of power on their side. If you want to have a peaceful life, I suggest you don't do anything like that again."

"So I can't fly anymore…." I mutter.

I couldn't fly when I was grounded at home, and now I can't fly at school either. I will miss flying, but after I graduate, I can find someplace quiet with no one around to enjoy myself. I have already waited a few years to fly, so I can handle a few more.

Listening to the crowd, I can already hear people talking about me. A few students from military families are already talking about how I can bring them glory on the battlefield if they get close to me. In contrast, those from families of spell casters want to question me on how I can fly. My friends are right. If I keep flying around, people will never leave me alone.

"I understand," I nod. "I will be more careful from now on."

"You don't have to worry about keeping a low profile," Zeno says, walking up to me and putting a hand around my shoulder. "Once you marry me and come to live in the elf kingdom, those people won't be able to bother you anymore."

"How many times do I have to remind you that Angelina is my fiancee?" Marshall asks, pulling me into his arms while shooting a glare at Zeno.

I feel bad as Arial watches from the sidelines, but this is for them. As long as people think we are happy, she can be with Marshall in secret.

"Come on, if you join my families army, we can conquer the Free City Stats in less than a year,"

"No, she should join my family's knights. With her strength, even the mighty Alliance doesn't stand a chance,"

"Stop being such brutes! War is no place for a lady. She should enter my family order of mages,"

I hate this. I can't even relax in my quiet spot without people trying to recruit me. Eating in the cafeteria, I am swarmed by so many people there is barely enough room to breathe. In the training fields, students from military families wanted me to conquer lands for them. At the same time, those from sorcery lines made me countless offers in the library. Nowhere was safe for me.

Even my friend couldn't protect me from everyone. When they were around, the lower-class nobles would keep their distance. However, the upper nobility would still flock and use the opportunity to try and get close to Marshall. A few noble women even tried to flirt and become his mistress right in front of me. Some of those offers even came with promises of large sums of money.

Right now, even in my quiet spot beneath the tree is being invaded. My friends are elsewhere while Bozzair betrayed me for some girl's offer of food. In the end, I have no choice. I will have to apologise to everyone else. Still, I have no choice but to use another spell I promised to never use again. I stand up why the latest group to bother me argue amongst themselves and telep[ort away ending up on the roof. It won't be long before people start bothering me again, but I should have brought myself a few moments of peace. Maybe I should just leave the school during breaks. I can easily find a quiet spot to disappear until my next lesson. I overheard several people talking about how beautiful their hometowns are, so maybe I can pay them a….

"Come on, I know you will enjoy yourself,"

Oh, I might have picked a bad position to appear in. if I remember correctly, this is one of Zeno's scenes with the heroine. I peek around the corner a see a familiar sight. A big strong boy has Ellis backed against the wall. I believe he had a name in the game, but I can't recall it since he was only a minor character on Zeno's route. But I remember he is a womaniser like Zeno, and the two of them were competing to see who could bed the most girls.

"I have left everyone that comes to my room satisfied,"

"I'm sorry, but I already have plans,"

Ellis tries to walk away, but the boy grabs her wrist. Any minute now, Zeno should arrive and use flight magic to save Ellis. It shouldn't make a big impact like it did during the game since people already saw me flying, but I think most people will still point and star. The boy uses his free hand to grab Ellis's chin and leans in to force a kiss. Come on, Zeno, where are you? He's getting too close! Their lips are almost….

"Hey!" I couldn't stand it anymore. I don't care that I am stealing Zeno's moment when someone tries to force themselves on my friend. "Leave her alone!"

"Why?" The boy turns to me. Zeno would have declared Ellis to be his woman in the game, but now the boy only gives me a creepy look. "If you're jealous, my bed is big enough for the three of us."

"Pig…" I mutter under my breath before teleporting behind him.

He is surprisingly weak, and I have no problem releasing Ellis from his grip. The boy could only stare at me with a confused expression on his face before I took hold of Ellis's hand and teleported us both away. Marshall and Noah are going to be so mad at me. I promised them I wouldn't use that spell, and I went and used it three times in such a short span of time.

We end up in my room. In the game, Zeno would have taken Ellis to his room. He offered to let her stay the night if she felt scared, but the heroine turned him down. On her way out, Ellis would plant a kiss on the pervy elf's cheek, and after she closes the door, Zeno would admit the kiss felt better than any he had received before. Where was Zeno anyway? Instead of him saving the day, I had to step in, and Ellis ended up in my room instead of his.

"Lady Angelina,"

I look at Ellis and realise I am still holding her hand. I just grabbed it when I teleported us away and forgot about it.

"Oh… I'm sorry," I release her hand, making Ellis frown for some reason as she looks at her hand. "Are you okay? That guy didn't hurt you, did he?"

"Thanks to you, I am fine, Lady Angelina," Ellis smiles. "You saved me once again. I'm sorry I couldn't put the stuff you showed me to good use."

"It's fine," I assure her. "I'm more than happy to help you if you are ever in t... are you sure your okay, Ellis?"

"I'm sorry…." Ellis started crying and was quick to whip away her tears. "It's just that for as long as I have been alive, everyone has been against it. It makes me happy to hear I have someone on my side."

"It's okay," I tell her, warping my arms around her and pulling her in close. "I can't change the past, but I will stay by your side from now on and keep you safe."

"Ha, if this was a romance story, you would have just confessed your love to me," I blush hearing that. In several of the books I read, some knights had used a similar line on the princess he would marry. "But I know you didn't mean it like that. Still, I am happy to hear those words. I… I should get going. I promised to help someone from my class study. Thank you again for saving me."

We bid our goodbyes with Ellis kissing me on the cheek instead of Zeno. I show Ellis out before I touch the spot she kissed me. Zeno wasn't lying about how the kiss felt in the game. It was much better than the kisses I received from my mother growing up. Her lips were so soft and warm that it made it hard to believe how strong Ellis would become by the end of the game.

"Is everything ready, Rosalie?"

"Yes. I have taken delivery of the items, and I am confident they will work for what we have planned,"

"Rosalie, Daniella. Are you two sure this is a good idea? If we upset her, I will never be able to play with the dragon again,"

"Charlotte, I have told you we need to do this. I promise, thanks to Rosalie, no one will even know we were involved. Not to mention we have sir Lennon's support as well. There is no way our plan would fail,"
