Chapter 155: Issue#15

Jack looked at the title with desire before turning away from it.

'No. That is not what we came here for. We need the other title that she must possess.'

Jack looked around the Dark Place until he found another set of golden words. When he brought them in front of his face, he was able to read what they said.

[(Title) True Ruler of Olympus: The owner of this title has the power to see all that happens in Olympus, gain more power while inside of the realm, and control most of the realm as they see fit.]

Jack nodded when he saw the title that he wanted. And it also confirmed his suspicions.

'Titles can pass from being to being, not just me. Which means... I can also do it!'

Jack had been thinking that titles were able to be transferred since he first got his first title. And when he deduced that the Ymir that he killed was not the original Ymir, that further confirmed his suspicions but it also made him think that it was only true for titles from the Norse Pantheon.

But since he saw that he didn't see the [True Ruler of Olympus] title when he killed Zeus, this presented the possibility that Zeus had lost the title himself when Nyx killed him. And now that Jack had found it inside of Nyx, it confirmed his suspicions.

'They most likely don't know about titles, though. They think it is their power. Is that the difference between gods and humans? Are gods just living titles? No.

They must be smaller, living versions of greater concepts. There are already beings like Eternity and Infinity that are literally living concepts. Maybe gods are just pieces of them that have broken off and gained sentience of their own.'

Jack felt that he was close to the answer but he was missing something. Even with all the intelligence, he had gotten from Heaphetus, Athena, Apollo, and his own psionic powers, he still couldn't put together the final piece of this puzzle.

Instead of trying to figure out this mystery, he added it to his ever-growing to-do list. Jack grabbed the title and placed it within himself before taking it out along with another title.

[True Ruler of Olympus + King of Jotunheim = 100% chance of success]

'Fuse!'

[True Ruler of Olympus + King of Jotunheim = Leader of Okkara]

- (Fusion) (Title) Leader of Okkara: The owner of this title has strived to recreate the once great land where mutants thrived. With this title, the owner is able to control the land as they please, view anywhere in the land, activate or deactivate the X-Gene within those in their domain, create deities at the rate of 1 per 10 years, and turn others into deities at a rate of 1 per 50 years.

Jack looked at his new title and nodded. He wanted to use his senses to see the changes that had occurred in Okkara, formerly Utopia, but since he was still in the Dark Place, he was unable to.

'Oh, yeah. I'm still in here.'

With nothing else that he wanted to do, Jack left the Dark Place. But instead of appearing back on Olympus/Okkara, he was instead in a yellow space with clouds all around him. Jack immediately went on guard.

For someone to teleport him without his knowledge or being able to resist, they were definitely something fearsome.

"No need to be afraid, my child. I bear you no harm nor can I bring it to you."

An ethereal male voice could be heard coming from every direction.

Jack looked around for a while before he saw a golden wall approaching him. It was majestic and had various images etched onto it.

"Hahaha! This is the first time any being has viewed me like this. Such arrogance! Such a pride! I like it!"

This came, the voice came directly from the wall.

"Who are you?" Jack questioned without letting down his guard. A wall that could speak and teleport him against his will was something that he would obviously be careful of.

"I go by many names. God, Allah, Jehovah, YHWH, Hashem, Aten, Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, Chuck. But the most common form of address and the one that suits me the best is simply the One Above All.

I am the most powerful being that has ever existed and shall ever exist. I have created everything that has been made and shall ever be made. I am the one true God."

Jack did not lower his guard but raised an eyebrow when he heard the wall's declaration.

"The One Above All is a simple wall?"

"Hahaha! No, my child. What you see is what I am to you. Don't worry. It's a compliment, not an insult. That's what my creations do. They find humanity in God.

But you. You are different. You see me and any other being above you as a wall for you to overcome. A challenge for you to surpass. Your very soul denies my existence as the strongest anything could ever be because you see me as something that you can overcome."

This explanation actually made sense to Jack, causing him to lower his guard. Since he really was the One Above All, there was nothing Jack could do under the circumstances.

"So why am I here? Pretty sure I haven't done anything major enough to be summoned by you. Since I didn't absorb Nyx's power and part of her soul is still sealed away, I haven't taken away the Primordial Darkness from the universe.

And since it seems like Okkara has existed before, there should be no problem with me being the current ruler of it. So what do you want?"

Jack didn't bother being polite with the divine being. If he had an issue with Jack, no matter what Jack said, he would die. But if he had a reason for summoning Jack, then no matter what Jack said, he would live. So either way, Jack's fate was predetermined.

"Indeed. I must ask a favor from you. And in return, I shall reward you for it."
