Chapter 14: Warrior

West side of town turned out to be a lot bigger than she'd first expected. Darmik inn was wedged between a smithy and an alchemy shop. It looked like a normal inn from the outside but there were a lot of were beasts walking about.

"I wonder if she's okay?" Moonflower whispered looking around at the men. Soul was about to respond when she spotted the pig they'd fought their first day in town. He looked so bumbed.

"You look upset." Soul walked over ignoring Moonflowers obvious signing to leave it alone.

"Come to mock me?" He grunted.

"No. I don't mock people. I do like to make friends with weirdos though." Soul smiled and held her hand out. "Name's Soul here."

"Boris." He shook her hand and the friend screen popped up. "I know it's cliche."

"I think it's kind of funny. We never thought we'd get stuck here. We create these characters to be different. Not to be ourselves. Of course our looks are all odd in a way." Soul smiled at him and he blushed.

"Not you. You're kinda pretty." Boris blushed deeper then looked away. "Not that you want to hear that from me."

"Does it matter who I hear it from? Besides, it just means I know how to make a pretty character." She looked at Moonflower then back to Boris. "Take for example, Moonflower. We're looking for his sister who switched characters on the worst day possible."

"Switched characters?" Boris looked at Moonflower confused.

"I lost a bet with my sister and she wanted to be my character for a day. I didn't see any harm in it at the time." Moonflower shuffled his feet and kept his head down.

"Have you seen a were lizard and were bear mix named Warrior?" Soul asked Boris.

"Warrior? That explains a lot. Most of us know that one. He's always crying and talks like a two-year-old. I just thought he was a little kid." Boris shrugged.

"She is a little kid. She's a six year old little girl." Soul said bluntly. "Do you know where she might be?"

"Yeah. His party just went on a job clearing fields for a farmer. He has a lot of damned rats infesting his field and wants them dealth with." Boris looked in the direction they'd gone. "It'll probably take them a while to finish. You can probably catch them there."

"Thank you, Boris. If they return before we do,

Can you tell them to wait for us? We'll head that way, but if we miss them somehow..."

"Yeah. I'll watch out for you, Soul. Thanks for being so nice. No one's ever been nice to me." Boris blushed and looked down at his hooves.

"People would probably be a little nicer to you if you were nice to them. No matter what hardships I've faced, I try not to take it out on anyone. You never know what they're going through." Soul hugged Boris and waved goodbye as they went back to BlueFrost.

"You're amazing, Soul. Don't you ever hold a grudge?" Moonflower asked as they walked back.

"What good would that do? I believe even if a bridge is burnt, it can be rebuilt with effort." Soul patted Moonflower on the head and walked into the inn where BlueFrost was being ambushed by two girls.

"We just want to be friends." One girl was a fairy with pink hair and silver and pink wings.

"Won't you join our party? We could really use some protection." The other girl was a fairy were bunny mix with short white hair and white long ears and a flufft bunny tail. Their 'armor' didn't leave much to the imagination.

"Find some friends, BlueFrost?" Soul asked cockily with a half grin on her face.

"Excuse me, girls." BlueFrost pushed through them. He got over to Soul and looked at her pleadingly.

"Who is this?" Pinky asked putting her hand on her hip.

"Surely your not pretty enough to be his girlfriend." Bunny girl copied Pinky's movements.

"Not his girlfriend, but his party member and we have a quest to get to." Soul grabbed BlueFrost's hand and pulled him along behind her.

"So that's a skank?!" Moonflower exclaimed as they left.

"Where did you hear that word?" Soul asked surprised.

"My mom used to say it about my dad's new wife. I never met her, so I never knew what she meant." Moonflower skipped next to Soul.

"Don't repeat that word, Moonflower. It's bad." Soul reprimanded.

"I still don't get why I'm this popular. I'm a half ogre. I'm a blue half ogre!" BlueFrost exclaimed.

"Well, it has nothing to do with your skin color." Soul laughed at her own dark joke.

"I dont think..." BlueFrost stopped his sentence. "Nevermind."

"Oh! We found Moonflower's sister! That's the quest we took too." Soul informed sweetly changing the topic.

"What kind of job?" BlueFrost walked over to a stand and selected three saddles.

"Killing rats on a farm. What are the saddles for?" Soul pulled her inventory up and frowned. She still didn't have any healing supplies.

"You have two bears and a wolf. We can rides them if you equip a saddle." BlueFrost handed one of the saddles to her.

"Spoticus." Soul summoned one of hdr bears causing a small commotion among the crowd. She quickly equipped the bear with the saddle and moved on to Ursa then Kiba.

"Alright. I have the farm marked on the map. Let's go." Soul hopped up on Ursa letting BlueFrost ride Spoticus and Moonflower ride Kiba.
