Chapter 3: Kingdom of Sarnor (after Aegons conquest)

"A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within."

King Agadosh Crathos of Saath 283AC

About the Fall of Sarnor

The Aftermath:

It is impossible to estimate how many of our People perished during the Fall but up to 5 Million were either killed or enslaved. One of the Reason the Fall happened was our political system of having several Kings as it created constant infighting between the many Cities that formed Sarnor although we would only fully realise that centuries afterwards.

Shock that is what the people of Saath most likely felt after they found out that it was only them who were left. This Shock was succeeded by fear than rage. Rage about what the Dothraki had done to their people, their brothers and sisters, their family.

It would be this rage that gave us the strength to survive. It would be this rage that enabled the great Restoration.

The Family of the High Kings:

While not just the majority of their Realm but also the capital itself had all fallen a small part of the Royal Family had managed to escape the inferno and would over time seek refuge in the last city of Saath. Being put under the protection of their Vassal the Crathos King of Saath but was in reality under his control.

Since only few had managed to escape the Dothraki the Family would shrink further over the centuries.

At the start of 3rd century ac the Families members could be counted at one hand and in 250 ac there was only one last member of house Amai left.

Zenobia Amai:

It is impossible to talk about the origin of the great restoration without mentioning Queen Zenobia Amai.

Born in 245 ac she was one of the last members of her having only her Father and two siblings a younger Brother and a younger sister. Both of them would die early leaving only Zenobia and her farther High King Othosh. Who would die in 261 ac leaving his daughter as the last member of house Amai.

The Nobility of Saath smelled an opportunity to control what they considered to be a naive and weak little girl but would become their menace. Having secretly negotiated a marriage between her and the ten year older King of Saath Zellos Crathos and marrying him only a week after her fathers death in a secret ceremony the conspirators would find themselves being strangled to death one by one.

One year afterwards the Queen would give birth to a son named Agadosh.

It is this Man who would become one the greatest Rulers of all time.

Kingdom of Saath (262ac):

Having been one of only to major coastal cities of the Kingdom of Sarnor Saath had always been a major economic center even after the Fall.

City of Saath:

Size and Population:

The Cities current population barely surpasses 200.000 but is large enough to hold the double amount of that, wich further depicts how much it had declined since the Fall.

Government and Royal Family:

King: Zellos Crathos 3rd

Queen: Zenobia Amai

Crown prince: Agadosh

Grand Vizier: Serosh Qoroth

Strathegosh: Raxosh Argoth

Economy:

Booth fishing and commerce play a huge role in the cities income. Especially Braavos, Lorath(Myrosh) and Ibeen are important trade partners.

While the production of Bronze Jewells has declined since the Fall as most of the cooper and Zink came from areas wich are now controlled by the Dothraki the Jewel forgers are still present in the city.

Spider Silk production has remained a famous good of Saath for foreign trade.

Military:

Being constantly under threat of getting attacked the City has a descent watch of three thousand full time soldiers who although not on the level of the golden company are still well trained. The City also has a huge militia of almost 10.000 men although those lack proper training, equipment and leadership. And the System is poorly organized having not been used for almost 100 years because the City had begun to pay ransom to the Khals in an attempt to prevent further conflict. And although small scale raids are still Occurring over time the City Watch can handle them mostly on its own.
