Chapter 19: Invitation to the Noble families of Westeros

The noble families of Lys invited many nobles of Westeros to the upcoming event at the colosseum. Victor especially invited Robert Baratheon to the event. He didn't invite his younger brother Stannis as he was only 11 years old now and his younger brother Renly was yet to be born, as his date of birth was 277 AC.

After reaching manhood, Robert divided his time between Storm's End and the Eyrie. In 278 AC, Robert's father will be sent on a mission by King Aerys II Targaryen, to travel to Volantis to find a bride for Robert's cousin, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. The mission will fail, and Steffon, accompanied by his wife, returned home. Robert and Stannis will watch their parents' ship, Windproud, sink in a storm in Shipbreaker Bay while nearing Storm's End. With his father's death, Robert will become the Lord of Storm's End. By that time, he will no longer be able to visit Lys and have fun in the colosseum, which means Victor doesn't have many more chances to leave a good impression on the future ruler of the seven kingdoms.

In addition to to Robert Victor also sent an invitation to the young Eddard Stark.

Eddard was born at Winterfell as the second son of Lord Rickard Stark and Lady Lyarra Stark. He had one older brother, Brandon, and two younger siblings, Lyanna, and Benjen.

Eddard was fostered by Lord Jon Arryn at the Eyrie from the age of eight. There, Eddard befriended his fellow ward, Robert Baratheon, while Lord Jon became like a second father to him. Robert decided that thirteen years of age would be old enough to experience the great event of the colosseum. Robert himself was only 11 when he visited the colosseum two years ago. Witnessing such a great event and making connection with all the participating nobles would be a great asset for the growing Eddard. Jon Arryn himself agreed with this reasoning, Eddard wasn't the heir of Winterfell yet and his brother Brandon was still alive, so no disagreement with Winterfell existed.

Victor wanted the house Di Natale to have some connection to the nobles of the Riverlands. This led to the invitation of Brynden Tully. Ser Brynden Tully, also known as Brynden Blackfish, Brynden the Blackfish, or simply the Blackfish, is a knight from House Tully. He is the younger brother of Hoster Tully, Lord Paramount of the Trident, and the uncle of Lady Catelyn (future) Stark, Lady Lysa (future) Arryn, and Ser Edmure Tully.

Brynden is five years younger than his brother Hoster Tully. The brothers were close through their childhood. Together with Norbert Vance, Brynden squired for Lord Darry, and was eventually knighted. In 260 AC, Brynden fought in the War of the Ninepenny Kings against the Band of Nine on the Stepstones. There, he proved himself a great and worthy knight, and gained fame and renown throughout the Seven Kingdoms.

After their father died, Brynden's older brother Hoster inherited the rule of Riverrun. Hoster sought to betroth Brynden to Bethany Redwyne, but Brynden refused, straining their relationship. While other lords like Lord Bracken and Walder Frey made offers as well, Brynden remained unwed.

Brynden is a stubborn man, but he is a man of integrity and loyalty. If the DI Natale family would manage a good relationship with him, they could gain connections to the Riverlands. He is a seasoned warrior, a veteran of half a hundred battles, and precise in his movements. He is also a strong swimmer. Victor valued his battlefield experience even more than his family, as tactics of large battlefields full of elite soldiers was something the Di Natale family was lacking.

Victor also invited Kevon Lannister again. Even though Kevon didn't like how Attilius reached fame and fortune by killing a lion two years prior, he wouldn't miss such an event as the representative of the House Lannister. Victor added an invitation to the nine-year-old Jamie Lannister. As Tywin got the information that both Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark would participate, he was willing to send his oldest son on the journey as well but increased the protection of Kevan and Jamie by a lot. Even though he was confident nobody dared to touch the family of the Hand of the King. The Lannister family oath filled the hearts of his enemies with fear.

Jaime was born in 266 AC, as the first-born son of Ser Tywin Lannister, the heir to Casterly Rock, and his wife, Lady Joanna. Jaime was born shortly after his twin sister Cersei, while holding her foot. King Aerys II Targaryen sent both Jaime and Cersei their weight in gold as a name day gift, and commanded Lord Tywin to bring the children to court when they were old enough to travel. It is currently unknown whether this visit to King's Landing occurred, as the royal court came to Casterly Rock following the death of Lord Tytos Lannister in 267 AC. Jaime and Cersei did visit King's Landing in 272 AC, when their mother brought them from Casterly Rock for the Anniversary Tourney held to celebrate the tenth year of King Aerys's reign.

Jaime and Cersei were inseparable in their early childhood. They looked so similar as children that not even their father was able to keep them apart. Sometimes they would dress in each other's clothes and spend a whole day as each other. As children, they played together in bowels of Casterly Rock, where the caged lions of his late grandfather, Tytos, were kept. Jaime and Cersei would dare each other to climb into the cage. Cersei and Jaime slept together in the same bed when they were very young, and even went as far as to experiment together in a sexual manner at a young age. During one of these encounters, they were caught by a servant who informed their mother. Jaime's bedchamber was immediately moved to the other side of the castle, whilst a guard was placed near Cersei's bedchamber. The twins were told never to do anything like that ever again, as Joanna would otherwise be forced to tell their father.

Jaime's mother died not long thereafter, in 273 AC, when giving birth to Jaime's younger brother, Tyrion. Even though Tyrion is a malformed dwarf, and both his father and sister despise the young Lannister, Jaime developed an affection for his youngest sibling, and treated him with kindness and respect.
