Chapter 48: Chapter 48 - Lighting Forest Slaughter

Kyle was panting. This was by far the hardest enemy he faced so far. This general was very close to power to the ogre that was level 3 and that he could only escape from a while ago.

This was the challenge that was most definitely worth of Kyle. All of the changes that he experienced before made sure he was prepared for this.

'I have grown quite a bit since then,' Kyle had a tired, but a proud look on his face.

As the stone soldiers and generals bodies started disappearing, and all the energy started rushing into Kyle's body, he could hear a system notification.

The last bit of energy from the general was extremely pure. Also, it's lighting energy that he got benefited him greatly.

The lighting soul that before was curved and resembled true lighting now was straight and very thick. It radiated even more energy, and now Kyle could feel that his connection with it was also improving. He could take at least 5% of the lighting energy from it in one go.

That change seemed small but changed the way Kyle would fight completely.

Also, Kyle now had twice as less qi, but it was purer, and it was much heavier. Right now, Kyle could feel his meridians bulk up as soon as he moved qi inside his body.

This felt like power far greater than what he ever had. The dantian was the same, but the now smaller qi felt like the viscous liquid attracted to form a ball.

Suddenly out of nowhere, the statue that appeared flashed and instead of it, a jade box, suspended in the air by some force appeared.

Kyle could guess what was inside, but he had to check it for himself. Inside the black jade box, there was a simple pill of white colour. On the side that was facing Kyle, an ember that was about to extinguish was embedded in red.

As soon as Kyle opened the box, an aroma of incredible power erupted. It was so strong that with one single breath, Kyle was about to collapse.

Kyle wanted to take it straight away, but he wanted to be in an optimal position to consume it. Plus he didn't know the effect or how long would he have to stay here.

Kyle only had food and water enough for 3 more days to stay in these trials.

Kyle excitingly meditated to fill the dantian to the fullest.

Kyle stayed in the same position for an unknown time, but once he stood up, he could feel every single cell in his body clearer than ever before. His body was not only fully refreshed; it was also stronger.

He didn't want to eat or drink what so ever as new qi seemed to fill him with nutrition from the air surrounding him.

Only now Kyle could feel how dense the spiritual qi and lighting energy was in the surrounding area here.

If Kyle had more resources, he would stay here for a long time to train.

Kyle's physical body was now also stronger than before. His skin was the colour of jade. This signalled that it was tough to puncture.

Kyle pushed out in the air, and a sonic boom resounded. Even a wall that was next to him shook.

'This is the power that I like!' Kyle was excited beyond himself with that.

Kyle still had the pill that he could consume to power up. But his main goal right now was to pass the trial.

With everything ready, he entered the next trial.

The fourth trial was just as hard as the 3rd trial, but now Kyle could kill even the general of the 4th trial could kill with a simple Lighting Step.

The same thing happened in 5th and in the 6th trials, but the general of the 6th trial again, proved himself to be a challenge worth to reward the medium grade life pill.

Kyle fought savagely, and the general had no way to defend against the combined power of Lighting Step and the Wave of Conviction used together.

Kyle felt like cheating by defeating him so easily compared to what he faced at the 3rd trial.

The only reason Kyle had so little problem is because the qi and the lighting energy that he was getting every time he killed the soldier powered up Kyle more and more.

Simultaneously, on the 100th floor of the pagoda, all the beings had a shocked look on their face. The last floor was so cramped right now that some of the beings had nowhere to sit and stood up to look in the mirror.

Some of the beings were writing something down while others were burning some incense and sending voice transmissions to faraway places.

All of them were either sorrowful or were angry. The only person that was smiling was Volta who drank a 5 glass of wine in the last minute and had a fruit basket. He was pleased and was grinning with all 300 teeth that he had.

Volta was of a race that was unknown on the continent that Kyle appeared. He looked like a shark but had a humanoid body.

"This is truly the seedling sent from heaven. He is blasting through trials as fast as I did back in the days! I think he is worthy of challenging 11th trial. Any objections?" Volta looked at everyone present and released a strong enough power that would kill anyone who was bellow 5th level.

As his gaze travelled from person to person, everyone turned their eyes from him. Some of the people present even had to use qi manifestation to create a barrier to protect themselves.

His gaze stopped on a person dressed fully in green. He was looking directly at Volta.

"Yes, I object. I am the heir of Basalt family think that this seedling is unworthy to challenge the sacred 11th trial!" He looked extremely savage, "We haven't granted this privilege to anyone in the past 100 years, why should he be allowed?"

At first, Volta furrowed his eyebrows, but later laughed out, "How long did your best disciple take to clear 9 tiers?"

Basalt proudly stood up and shouted out:
