Chapter 92: Again.....
"HOW DARE YOU TRY TO DESTROY MY SOUL!!!!" Stormterror shouted. Everyone heard it from the Cathedral. Aether gritted his teeth.
Stormterror was fighting back. It's soul is harder to absorb now. Aether pulled harder but Stormterror fought back with the same vigor.
Aether decided that he had absorbed enough and jumped back. A beam shot out of Stormterror's mouth.
Aether blurred away and stood beside where the bean was about to burn him into ashes. The street was folded. Aether decided to try something at that moment.
"If I could use the Dark Wind. Why not Dark Fire?" Aether thought. He put Stormterror's evil into his pyro element.
*Boom boom*
Aether widened his eyes in shock. It worked and it worked wonderfully. His heart was beating energetically in excitement. Aether then quickly absorb the remains of Stormterror's soul into his own soul, making it stronger in the process.
Aether looked at Stormterror and The Deities Of Protection surrounded him again.
This time it was much more different. It had much more descriptive features around him. There was a nose and mouth. There were also teeth. The six hands were much bigger and had muscles like a human on them. It's color was much darker than the usual bright red.
Armor surrounded the Deity and weapons were created. Two copies of Aether's samurai swords on the front two hands, a spear and a shield on the middle two and the last two held five Yasaka Beads spinning around each other on each hand.
Aether had surpassed his limits again but the time limit he could hold this up was shortened to twenty minutes.
Aether furrowed his eyebrows. "It's always about time huh?" Aether thought amused before widening his eyes at the incoming claw of Stormterror.
He blocked it with all of his weapons.
*BOOM!!*
Once again there was a clash between strength. To the people who were watching it looked like a draw but to Aether it was not.
He was gritting his teeth and shaking a little. Although one third of Stormterror's soul was absorbed and destroyed in Aether, the rage in Stormterror could not be competed against Aether's stone will.
Aether struggled to match its strength and got slammed back in the wall guarding Mondstadt. The people watched in shock as the Knight slammed against the wall and broke it.
"ACK!" Aether spat out blood a little on impact against he wall. He got uo immediately. He controlled the Deities and the weapons changed immediately to six samurai swords.
They slashed the air and giant fire blades shot out of their giant swords. Stormterror raised it's hands to block it. The durability of Stormterror was a thing that Aether hated but he could do nothing.
Aether leaped into the air but got punched by Stormterror who recovered immediately after the Fire blade barrage.
Aether flew in inhuman levels of speed and slammed onto another part of the stone wall.
The wall crumbled and fell apart by the impact. Aether got up while spatting out more blood but was met by another giant fist that slammed him down again.
*BOOOOMMM!!!*
Aether was lying on the ground, he felt pain all over his body which shouldn't be happening. The Deities were starting to break their protection over Aether.
Stormterror kept punching and slamming Aether who can do nothing but spit blood and break his bones.
"SUFFER!!!! " Stormterror shouted and his fist glowed dangerously. The Deities raised their swords to block it but it was futile.
The swords cracked and broke into pieces. The broken pieces turned into ashes. Diluc looked on in shock.
"No....." Diluc tried to get up but Aether's clone who was still beside him grabbed him and held him back.
"No! Let me go! What are you doing!" Diluc should at him but the clone didn't answer and kept grabbing onto him.
"RRRAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHH!!!!!" Stormterror shouted and the glowing fist slammed into The Deities. It broke through and Stormterror's fist is coming towards Aether.
Aether seeing this used the last of his strength to rolled away. Stormterror's fist missed but the impact of the fist blew Aether away. Aether flew through the remnants of some destroyed buildings and skidded on the ground before finally slamming on a stone wall on the other side of Mondstadt.
Aether laid there not moving. He had given up. He can't do anything anymore. And there was no one to save him as well.
Paimon appeared with tears on her eyes and shook Aether's body.
"Aether! Please get up! It's about to kill you!! Please! Please! You can't die here!!! Waaaaaa!!!!" Paimon cried while shaking Aether. Aether smiled sadly.
"Paimon. Always with me till the end huh? At least that promised was fulfilled.... Venti.... I failed you..... Everyone.... I disappointed all of you....." Aether muttered while hugging Paimon. Paimon was crying. Her tears were soaking his shirt.
"At least.....
*STOMP!!*
" I had....
*STOMP!!!*
"A lot of fun these past few months...."
*STOMP!!!!!!*
"HEHEHEHEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!" Stormterror laughed maniacally and victoriously at Aether's defeated and destroyed body.
"You FOOL! You think you could match me!!! ME!!!??? STORMTERROR!!!??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!!! " Stormterror shouted at Aether. Paimon cried harder but she cried silently. It seems the both of them had admitted defeat. Aether didn't listen and just stared into the dark sky.
Stormterror grinned. "After I'm done with you!! They're next you hear me!!! I'll enjoy their screams and cries!!!" Stormterror shouted and a dark blue beam was charging in it's mouth.
"But.... Why do I want someone to save me? Maybe it's just a reaction in me.... " Aether thought. He stared at Stormterror.
" Just so you know.... I'm not scared.....I'll be back sooner than you think...." He muttered. He hugged Paimon with his two hands and closed his eyes.
" Shhhh... It'll all be over soon Paimon.... I promise....." He muttered tears dripping down his eyes.
"DIEEE!!!!!!!" Stormterror shouted and fired the beam. It shot towards Aether.
"AETHER!! " Diluc screamed in horror. The clone still held him back. It was Aether's final order. 'Protect them and never let them go on the battlefield. The people gasped as the beam shot towards Aether and Paimon.
Aether held Paimon close to him.
Suddenly.....
A flash spread throughout the city making everyone shut their eyes for a second. The beam then disappeared into nothingness. Miles away at Stormterror's Lair.
*BOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!!!*
The building was suddenly blown to pieces by that same beam.
Aether closed his eyes awaiting for the beam to vaporize him. But then he heard a feminine voice.
"Hey! Just because I was unconscious for a while doesn't mean you can just give up. It's official, you suck at protecting cities. Ehe~
