"Mai~ Mai!" A loud voice shouted.
"Yes!" Mai stands up from her seat after rubbing her eyes and looks at the teacher who is angry with her attitude of sleeping in class.
"I know you are tired but try not to sleep in class!" the teacher said in a calm voice.
However, Mai doesn't seem to listen and just said, " If I answer the question correctly, can I go back to sleep?"
"Sigh yes you can.." The teacher give up as it wasn't the first time that it happen. He write out the most difficult question on the board for her to answer.
It's not that the teacher is angry but he is worried that Mai will fall back in her studies if she keeps up like this.
Mai walks up to the board and write out the answer within seconds with all the workings written out.
The teacher look at it and just gesture her to go back. He cannot do anything to stop her from sleeping in class because even the most difficult questions she is able to answer when nobody can.
Who ask that Mai is the top student in his class? They had a agreement that when Mai is sleeping in class, she has to answer a difficult question within a minute or else she cannot have the permission to 'slack off' : sleep and rest.
"Sensei!" a student raises his head and call out to the teacher
"Hai? What's wrong suba-kun?" Teacher look over to suba-kun who is 2nd in class and always likes to be beat Mai in everything.
Well, Mai is the top student in our school who is good in everything.
She could go to any club she wants, but I can't BELIEVE she chose to be in that club!
Suba-kun walks up to the teacher and show him the answer sheet.
"The answer is completely wrong! Sensei, so why do you just let her go back to sleep?"
Teacher's thoughts : 'I forgot all about that..' and say " The answer is completely wrong as they print wrongly all the answers on purpose, that's why Mai's answer is correct."
Suba-kun immediately go back to his seat and sink down to the world as he stare at Mai.
"Sigh~" teacher continue, "Suba-kun you are too competitive.."
'It's not that teacher and you know it!' suba-kun stare back to the stupid teacher who is known as his father.
And so, Mai sleep in through the entire class when it's finally lunch time!
"Ya-hoo finally out of that math class!"
A random guy in class shouted after the teacher left the classroom.
"Yep! I hate math! Why does our teacher so strict?" A random girl say
"The person who print our math answer sheet is even worse! Give us wrong answer..." A girl who looks like a monitor complain until all three of them as well as the entire class saw~
Mai who don't know how she ended up in front of the classroom door staring at them say, " If you got listen in class and study hard, I dont think you will complain about teacher and how you hate math anymore.."
As Mai left the classroom, Suba-kun smile and leave as well.
"Hey Mai!" Suba-kun shouted as he follow Mai's sleep walking pace.
Sometimes he wonders how Mai could sleep walk so easily and at the same time not bump into people at all... other students and teachers also wonders but nobody dares to ask because Mai is always busy and has black panda eyes.
"What is it, Suba-kun..?" Mai turns around rubbing her eyes like a cute little kid
"How about I treat you to lunch?" Suba-kun said while trying not to smile.
"Ok but what do you want to challenge me?" Mai turn around and start to follow Suba-kun to the canteen after asking.
Suba-kun thought for a moment and then said, "How about let's see who eat the fastest?"
"Ok then.." Mai accept the challenge.
In the canteen~
After Suba-kun order a couple plates of fried rice and 2 plates of cakes for both Mai and himself to eat.
He walk over to the table where Mai is waiting, "Na, here you go~"
Mai took her portion and look over to the two guys beside her each holding a watch waiting to start the timer.
One of them shout out as Suba-kun settle down..
"The eating contest begins in 3..2..1!"
Mai and Suba-kun starts eating immediatley.
Both of them eats it with style.
Mai eats it in a fast speed mode as if she has never eaten for days.
While Suba-kun eats in a also fast speed mode but trying to catch up to Mai as if he is full already.
The winner is... The stall auntie!
"What?! What happen?" The people who can't see the contest from behind ask.. thinking how did it happen from a two player game to a three player game
"Cough- cough" Mai starts coughing as she chokes from eating the cake.
Suba-kun stops as he needs to drink water and wants to give up.. well, until Mai starts choking on the cake she is eating and tries to drink water, which makes it even worse.
Mai who is allergic to peanuts immediatly runs to the toilet.
Nobody except for her parents knows it, even so, she can't help but get angry at Suba-kun for a few seconds.
'Well, who eats peanut cakes? They are local! Sigh~ well actully its my fault for accepting his challenge.' Mai thought after she finally get out of the bathroom for so long that she thought she was going to die.
Suba-kun stands there outside waiting for her and ask, "Are you all right?"
"Ya, next time I don't want to eat this cake at all! I swear to myself that it is a curse!" Mai said as she holds onto her throat, she still can feel the pain. Luckily she notices it within one bite or else she is a goner already.
Suba-kun pespire and said, "Is it that serious?"
Mai nodded her head and glare at him, "If you ever give me this again, I tell you~ your..." Mai stops as she realises that she probably shouldn't say anything at all.
Suba-kun notices the seriousness in her sentence and continue to listen until she stops.
He wonders what she was about to say until she continues, " You will regret it when the time comes, just cherish the moments you have left with your.. arg nevermind! Just dont give me peanut cakes ever again!"
Mai left after she finishes her words knowing that Suba-kun will nod his head from behind.
"Weird.. why she never finishes her sentence? Cherish what? Is the peanut cake that much of a curse to her..?" Suba-kun thought as he follows Mai on the same way back to the classroom.
