Synopsis

As time passes, and Ages come and go, history holds firm as the reminder of humanity's story. Stories are passed down, immortalized, and never forgotten. One such story has stood the test of time, and is considered the very first, oldest story ever told...

'Though this history shall soon be forgotten, the Epic of Gilgamesh shall live on forever in my memory, as a sign of who I once was and the sacrifices I had to make.'

'I have learned many things, and have seen even more. I have lived fulfilling lives and accomplished great things. That story has long ended, but my story still remains unwritten!'

'So now, I write my own story! A story of the things unknown to all! The story of Gilgamesh, untold!'

*Inspired by the Ancient Mesopotamian 'Epic of Gilgamesh,' and Based off of the work of iKissTurtles (Who I am working with to publish this fantastic take on the age-old character).*

As of Chapter 68, our insufferable MC (Gilgamesh) has officially stepped onto the path of cultivation. Did y'all see that coming? I know I didn't, even though I work so closely with the author. iKissTurtles, my good friend, has expressed his desire for me to say a few words about the story so far, and I thought it would be best for me to do so with a review. So, firstly, a message from the author: "Thank you all so much for reading Gilgamesh Untold. This story has been a bit of a problem child for me, heh heh! It has sat around in my brain and tortured me relentlessly, just so I could start working on it. When I did, I consulted some of my friends about what might be an interesting way to work with a character like Gilgamesh. I absolutely had to use Gilgamesh; he has been my favorite mythological figure all my life, and I love seeing adaptations of his character. I decided that I wanted to pay respect to the Epic by starting the story off right where the old stories left off- more or less- and then continue from there. I did my best to pay homage to the Epic while also furthering my own agenda, and provided a conclusion to it all that was ideal for me to truly begin my story. I wanted to make it clear that everything Gilgamesh experienced from the very beginning to now was actually laughably insignificant. Sure, he has loved ones and they are important, but his struggles actually got him next to no where. I wanted it to feel as though it was all for nothing. From this moment on, Gilgamesh Untold begins. Thank you again for taking the time to read it." As the unofficial editor, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart as well. This story means a lot to both of us, and we hope to see it go on to completion. Thank you!
