"Relax," I drawl, leaning against the backrest and lighting a stick of cigarette. "She's single, I'm single. We're just having fun. That's all there is to this."

"It won't be fun if she ends up crying after you break her heart. I'm warning you, Gio."

"That's not gonna happen. It's obvious she's having a good time and she knows I'm not down for anything serious. Have you seen how she talks to me? She doesn't really like me—well, that's not really true, I know she's dying to see me naked. But I can guarantee that woman isn't up for anything serious either."

"I'm just saying. She's Angel's best friend and I care about her, so you better not make it hard—don't!" He lightly punches my bicep when he sees me open my mouth to deliver a pun about something "hard", effectively cutting me off. He knows me so damn well, it makes it funnier. I toss my head back laughing as he shakes his head and continues, "I don't want any drama between you two later when we're all sober."
