Chapter 9: Whispers
"Almost out of the desert.." Xen spoke as he neared the beautiful greenery in front of him.
Just as he was to leave several worms broke through the sand and took him underground. Xen wasn't too shaken up as he decided to trust the slimy worms as he had ways to escape half dead if needed.
Soon enough he reached an area where the queen stood in front of him with all her glory.
"You need to leave, the King is on the way!" She made a sad face and began to tear up.
"King? Hold up, I may be able to help you!" Xen may only have known this worm for a short time but she was the first in this world to offer assistance. With the worms as a catalyst Xen was sure he could activate a barrier strong enough to save them both!
"No.. he is too powerful. I will send you away to the nearest human village, I will also cast a spell onto you to make you appear as a human." The queen worm blushed at the thought of this Goblin protecting her even if it meant certain death.
Xen ran up to her in an attempt to escape the worms only for him to get caught.
"Stay alive!" He screamed at her. He didn't care much about her, more so the use she had with his current power.
As he entered the dirt once more he saw the roof of the cave break and a man in a black and red overcoat appeared, the queen began to shake and lowered her head in fear.
"Where is it. You must know due to the ability you have with your countless worms." The worm shook its head in response.
The man chuckled. "I see."
The man approached the worm and pointed two fingers at it, a second later there was two deep holes in the worm, blood shot out everywhere. The man then flew away in search for the goblin.
Xen became as quiet as possible and hid his presence, he wasn't too sad as he was just putting up a front, but it would be quite some time before he would be able to make a strong ally once more.
He left the desert in silence, carried by the worms.
Soon enough Xen was shot out onto the ground once more. In front of him was a large town with a wall the size of a sky scraper, there was a sign. 'Elder Town'
'I wonder how long this appearance will last me..' Xen looked at his human hands with a smile. He was now able to do a variety of things..
