Chapter 2: Chapter 1 - New Horizons

He was equipping himself with his father's weapons and armor, he steeled himself promising that he would never shed another tear for his parents, they would not want to see him in such a pitiful state, so he had worn his father's old leather armor and took his father's heavy greataxe.

He had looked at it once more, remembering how awestruck he was when first saw it, and how his father had boasted so proudly about his 'ultimate' weapon. It was a beautiful ax, a hefty metal head with a bluish tint and many ornate carvings on it, a thick and strong wood was there for it's handle, it seemed as if it was unbreakable, he threw it up in the air as it began to shrink into a small trinket, it was a thin chain with a miniature axe on the end of it, the chain had a glossy chrome look to it. he had worn it on his neck like a necklace, he remembered that his father told him that he could only wield the axe once he became eighteen, so he would respect those wishes.

He went to his room and took his own greataxe, it was completely normal and had always been sufficient and reliable for him, he had owned this axe for so long, he had grown attached to it, he would never be able to leave it alone.

He had hung it over his back as he began to exit the home, he was wearing a thick hide as a shirt and jacket with some thin leather pants, over his shirt he had a layer of leather armor and a chrome necklace with a miniature axe trinket on the end, he had been oozing an atmosphere of danger.

A backpack had been brought by him as well with necessities such as a sleeping bag and some rations.

he set out for the thick woods that he had known as his past hunting grounds, he knew the closer parts of the place like the back of his hand, he had hunted in this place ever since he was twelve, he had reminisced so much in his trek that he began to feel old even if he was only seventeen.

Ever since he was going he was always curious about the world outside of his home, outside of this forest.. he had always searched for possible exits and found a dirt path quite far away from his house when he was a child, he was always tempted to go through the road, but never gave in, he was loyal to his father and followed his father's orders, pleas, wishes.. no matter what.

He had memorised the way to the road long ago, because no matter how loyal he was, he was still curious, he pushed away a few leaves revealing a long and empty dirt road.

He had begun trekking down it like he was on a mission, his first goal was to reach a town with other people so he could learn about the outside world by asking.

–=[ A few hours later ]=–

He had soon reached a small hut, it seemed to be abandoned and it was late at night, so he chose to rest there for the time being..

He had entered the shack, it had an eerie feeling to it, although very subtle it still owned an uncanny atmosphere.

His steps had echoed in the shack accompanied by loud creaking, everything inside seemed to have a thick layer of dust above it, it was full of cobwebs and many other 'dirty' things, it was also quite quiet.

As he continued walking around he had noticed a loose floorboard under him, it had a small black box with many different etches and carvings on it, it seemed to be written in a language he had not known, he also noticed that the box was locked.

it was a deep black that seems like it was sucking all light around it, like a pocket of void, a black hole, this had interested him greatly, he had noticed that it was covered in many runes and intricate carvings, it seemed to be affected by magic, the box look beautiful, a perfect frame and and a spotless surface, it seemed to either be new, or some sort of magic had kept it clean, nonetheless, he had kept it in a backpack he had brought along with him, he had noticed it seemed completely weightless.

–=[ The next day ]=–

He had been able to sleep soundly for the night without much interruption, his sleeping bag proved to be a great bed.

He stood up and packed his things and left the house, He looked upon the dirt road, he had never gone this far before, he had always just explored only a small part of the road.

As he was walking slowly and looking at the road, he had soon noticed a large shadow over where he was. It was humongous, almost completely covering the sun.

He looked up to see gigantic walls that seemed bigger than life itself, large sturdy towers stood erect around it, many men could be seen walking on the top, others standing guard and so on..

He had soon be noticed by two guards at the gate, one of them had spoken to him in a thick and gruff voice "Oi! What are you doing 'ere?" His accent was thick, it was so thick that it seemed like asriel could touch it.

"Oh, um, I want to enter."

"Have ya got two copper then?"

"Uh, what's that?"

"I'm guessing ya don't have any."

"Why are you still 'ere? Go along, I don't wanna waste my time on ya."

"Wait! Do you want anything else?"

"Hmm, maybe that greataxe on your back."

"No! I'm not giving that!"

"Well, what else have ya got then?"

"Rations?"

"Hmmmm, food? Well, I guess that is fine."

"So can I enter?"

"After you give me the food."

Asriel then begins to walk to the guard and gives him a ration that has almost been completely eaten, the guard protests

"Oi, what am I supposed to do with this!?"

"Well, I never said the amount."

Asriel then walks into the city..
